Quick video on the different exhaust wraps and how they look after a few years. Thanks for watching.
Here’s a link to DEI’s website on the paint used in their kit. www.designengineering.com/hi-...
Someone mentioned that you don’t use it on their wraps which isn’t true. So just read it for yourself. Thanks

Wait, did you spray the silicone coating down on the pipes before AND after you wrapped them? It looks like it. I thought you always wanted to spray the silicone on the wrap afterwards... and after the wrap is dried out and securely fastened?

I sprayed them before I wrapped them. They already come black so you don’t have to paint the wrap. To your dried out question titanium wraps you don’t soak like you do for the fiberglass wraps. Thanks for watching!

@@1998gst4611 From DEI’s website Ht Silicone Coatings solve the problem of exhaust wraps deteriorating because of dirt and debris hitting it. It seals and protects wraps and extends the life of the wrap. The High Temperature (HT) Silicone Coating provides lasting protection for any hot surface up to 1500 degrees. DEI recommend the use of this coating with their exhaust wrap because it seals the material and provides lasting protection from oil, dirt and road grime. Don't limit the use to exhaust header wrap, this products works well on headers, blocks, starters and even on your grill at home. HT Silicone Coating is VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) compliant in all 50 states. For use with all DEI exhaust wraps, HT Silicone Coating penetrates, seals and protects as well as helping to extend the lifespan of all DEI exhaust wraps. See special instructions below for best adhesion on Titanium exhaust wrap products. Protection from abrasions, oil, and grime Withstands up to 1500°F For use on exhaust wraps, engine blocks, pipes, manifolds & more 12 oz. can Cure temperature: 400°F Cure time: 2 hours Titanium Application Instructions While not required for Titanium exhaust wrap, HT Silicone Coating will protect and prolong the life of the wrap. Due to the difference in material from glass fiber, HT Silicone Coating soaks into Titanium exhaust wrap's basalt fiber differently and needs a few coats and heat cycles for it to adhere properly. DEI recommends a minimum of three coats, each heat cycled for curing before applying the next coat. To cure, HT Silicone Coating needs to reach a temperature of 400°F for approximately 2 hours. Allow to cool before applying the next coat.

@@segamodshop1498 so I need to leave the bike running for about 2 hours, after every time I spray it for a total of 3 times?

@@benjkiller1987 I didn’t bring them up to temp yet. Engine hasn’t been installed yet so I can’t speak of the durability of running just one coat. I guess I’ll have to try one side with just the one coat and run the other one in the over for temp curing and see if the more coats holds up longer and post the results.

Man you screwed up on that stainless exhaust strap. When using the DEI strap tool your suppose twist away or pull away from the ball end catch when turning the tool. If you turn the tool towards against the ball end catch housing it'll get all bunched up and you'll end up breaking apart the ball catch housing.

What did you end up using instead of the stainless steel zip tie then? Would a stainless hose clamp work or provide enough clamping force? Great video!

I ended up using the SS zip ties. They’re still holding. But I would buy a few extras incase some get messed up. I had some laying around from other installs. The tool in the kit I couldn’t get it to work as intended.
