One of the best things about Wesley Snipes playing Blade was Wesley is actually an expert in martial arts, therefore his fight scenes end up looking even better than other superhero fight scenes.

Well in his defense, that *usually works* most of the time in ending the fight.

Club scene from this movie still one of the best intros of all time.

Honesty, minus the CGI and a few scenes, this film doesn't need a remake and has stood the test of time. Absolute classic.

Blade 1 and 2 were incredible and nobody will ever change my mind. They are imbedded in my nostalgia.

I like that they kept the blade-bind short, just long enough for audiences to notice it, before the combatants start fighting again. Most fights before and since turn blade-binds into extended shoving matches and conversations.

The choreography: beyond amazing. The multiple layer skeleton and ash CGI on kills: literally defined the industry standard. The script/writing: could have been better. The random ass blood CGI for this dude and Dracula(?): kills the entire movie..

Wesley Snipes is an amazing Blade character, no doubt. But to those saying "noone can be blade but him" and "he'll always be the best". .....what were people saying about Heath Ledger being cast as the joker before seeing the movie? Terrible casting choice, doesn't suit the character. After the movie, he is regarded as the best rendition of the joker thus far. Moral of the story is simply, you just don't know. Let's see what happens.

Aside from the dated CGI and fight choreography, Goyer got the tone right. There hasn’t been a serious R-Rated superhero film that was this dark and violent while all at the same time being fun to watch.

One thing that my dad pointed out when this movie first came out that I can't unsee now, is how the blood on the right side of his face goes to the left side of his face then back to the right side.

Snipes gave the role a lot of personality. Looking forward to what the next rendition brings.
