It's like drinking and blacking out. (I don't drink myself though.) What's so much fun about it, if you can't remember it later on? I've noticed that personally on cannabis as well, it screws with your memory, at least short term. Heck some strains are even named after the effect like 'Amnesia Haze'. I have a feeling that people who toke on a daily basis, will regret it later on in life, when the REALization that they've wasted countless moments of their lives while they were covered in a mist of haze in their head, starts kicking in. It's like when I'm under the influence of cannabis, which has psychedelic properties (especially if you eat it, I've had more intense open eye visuals on cannabis alone as on 1P-LSD, magic truffles and magic mushrooms), I'm more mindful and notice more detail in the moment itself (time also seems to pass slower, a form of spacial-time hallucination), but I can't recall them afterwards. So basically I wasted a part of my existence, at least that's what it feels like to me. Might be different for other people. Cannabis is great to make sound more visual though, if you have that tendency in the first place, like I'm watching a canvas rather then listening to music. I'll find myself saying things like: there's not enough cyan in this song for my taste. And when the audio is too low quality, I'll say the palette/canvas is way too small. There's not enough height and width. Dude, that bass drum is way too spikey to FEEL pleasant. It should be more rounded.

@@kjell159 "I have a feeling that people who toke on a daily basis, will regret it later on in life, when the REALization that they've wasted countless moments of their lives while they were covered in a mist of haze in their head, starts kicking in." I don't think you understand what you are talking about, after you smoke for long enough it just becomes an enhancer, its nothing unless you are wet around the ears.
@AceHighAlbion2 жыл бұрын
@@kjell159 LOL so ignorant, i smoke every day, i got a phd in biology, i work every day etc. Why this hate on people who smoke, but in the same time its okay to open a bottle of wine when coming home and taking a couple glasses of that..! But if you smoke a joint after work, then suddenly you destroy your life? How does that work?
@kjell1592 жыл бұрын
@@AceHighAlbion Anecdotal fallacy. Same one used by countless people, like smokers. "Lol, so ignorant of people who believe cigarettes are harmful. My grandpa used to smoke two packs a day and he lived up to 85! He never got diagnosed with emphysema, COPD or lung cancer!!" "My pitbull has never bitten anyone *yet* !" You know the kind of fallacy once you gain the insight and become aware of it. Smoking one joint, isn't the same as the people I was mainly talking about. Those who follow the subculture philosophy of "smoke weed everyday" as an 'innocent' enhancer. Where it becomes an actual serious habit. Cannabis dependence is a thing affecting many people after all. I agree that the *average* occassional toker is *probably* doing barely any harm. Hence I was mainly talking about daily tokers. Also, many potheads smoke throughout the day, as many consumers remain a major form of functioning, while daily drinkers are a lot less likely to get away with being drunk during a work day. For many potheads it's a way of life, many times even a social thing. Where did I say weed in general is worse then alcohol? I'm just pointing out that maybe many people don't want to be shrouded in a haze for too long, and will miss out on beautiful memories, even though the present moment is the only moment in existence. Whether it evolves into actual derealization or just a clouded mind. Why lose the ability to enjoy things sober, why does it always have to 'be enhanced'? Maybe I'm too inspired by the philosophy of Epicurus. Enjoy, but with measure. "It shouldn't be the peaks that you're striving for." Hedonism but in a lighter form, as excesses lead to only more suffering. A middle path. No ascetism, but no complete hedonism either. The more you crave a high, the more you associate and build habits were you 'need' the weed, for the 'enhancement' it brings to otherwise more 'dull' activities. The more and more you'll obviously are going to use. I'm tired of the "weed is better/less bad then alcohol" thing by now as well though. :) Just because it's less worse, doesn't mean it's innocent. Aids is less bad then cancer too? Some studies have been done so far, showing the direct correlation between cannabis & paranoia. Although it was in a clinical setting, even after reassuring the blind group that got THC (I know, is just one compound, more studies are needed to get more precise insights.), their paranoid symptoms didn't seem to diminish that much at all. And it's known to increase the severity of psychosis in predisposed individuals. Which isn't a surprise, as many cannabis strains are mildly to medium-heavy psychedelic. Many psychoactive substances, in most categories (depressants, stimulants, hallucinogens) can cause and/or aggravate some forms of psychosis. academic.oup.com/schizophreniabulletin/article/41/2/391/2526091 It alters spatial & time perception, colour perception, depth perception, acuity of the visual field, size of the visual field, peripheral vision perception (seeing things that aren't there, or misinterpretating things that actually are there; and when you actually turn your head, it turns out to be nothing special), can increase emotional states, decreases short term memory. You know, the exact same reasons why many people use cannabis in the first place (to alter perception, mostly to slow down time & space out, and make music more clear & synaesthetic), are also the concerns by psychiatrists. Can't blame them though. I don't think all of them are trying to bash cannabis, they're just concerned. Because, well it's a drug. And a drug that consists of so many compounds with it being an herb. (Unless we're talking purified stuff, shatter, hash oil, dabbing, ...) Tetrahydrocannabinol in several isomers like delta 8 & delta 9, cannabidiol, cannabigerol, cannabichromene, their carboxylic acid forms; cannabinol, tetrahydrocannabivarin (THCv in many South-African 'sativa'), terpenes of course - like almost all aromatic herbs/plants, common flavonoids with some unique to cannabis dubbed the 'cannaflavins' and so forth... All these hundreds of compounds in different concentrations, make for an even more difficult assessment of the safety and therapeutic profiles cannabis *MIGHT* have, and makes it just as difficult to estimate the recreational dangers. Let alone the fact that the cannabinoid system that is a major system affected by cannabis (hence it's named after it), affect several other neurotransmitter systems. And cannabinoids themselves are either agonists, antagonists & allosteric modulators of several receptor sites. + Cannabis seems to anecdotally affect many people differently. Some become very anxious, over self-aware, paranoid. Regardless of the strain. (unless we're talking like those low THC, high CBD strains or hemp products and the like) While others claim to become more relaxed. Anecdotally some people who smoked for years, happen to develop anxiety on weed after many years of it making them relaxed. Although I've met several psychologists & psychiatrists that always seemed to hammer on about the negatives of cannabis. As I've been in that circuit, albeit without being actually helped in any meaningful way at all, so it was mostly a waste of time/money and collection of grudges. Belive me or not, I too got tired of how they always were going on about that I shouldn't be using pot. Because of 'the risk of psychosis'. (Instead of actually helping me with what I actually was there for, which weren't psychotic symptoms at all in the first place...) - If you use cannabis, fine, I'm not 'against drugs'. And I would be a hypocrite . I personally don't smoke cigarettes, barely smoked weed as I vape or eat it - I can't stand smoke honestly and it creates this clogged pressure in my chest for up to 3 days, it's freaking smoke you're inhaling after all. - and don't drink alcoholic beverages. But I have experimented with several herbs and psychedelics. Some more intense then the other. From regular kitchen herbs (If you smoke, try smoking regular bay leaves and/or sage! I'm not kidding.) to sheng pu'er tea, to mugwort, damiana & klip dagga, to kratom, to nutmeg, to AL-LAD, Mimosa hostilis, 1P-LSD, 8 grams of magic mushrooms. And several others.

I watched this film yesterday for the third time or so. This time in my one year old cinema setup with 160" screen and 5.1 system (all speakers are extremely good hifi / full range).. the last 2 times were on a cheap china-television / pc-monitor. Interesting for me is the huge difference between watching just this scene today and watching the full movie yesterday. Isolated scenes do NOT work, the movie only works as whole. It is such an immersive sensation that you are completely into it. This movie is my all time favorite, the camera does an incredible job, as also Johnny does. Everything about it is absolutely psychedelic. I understand, why lots of prudish people out there even dont get the point of it and rate it 2/5 stars or something like that. But for me it is a blank 5, considering it even better than some other 5-movies.
