I'm not here to bash anyone or any religion but what I'm trying to say here is look at the people who have something to believe in. By far we are not perfect. But it's like back when we were all kids and believed in Santa. We tried to be good....sometimes we were not! Lol. But we were reminded about Santa watching us. Made us think a little more about doing more right than wrong. So when we hear a song like Jesus Got a Tight Grip, well, it just takes you back to trying to be a good kid again.

Who told you Jesus wasn't to be found in schools? He never left. He's everywhere. And someone in this thread doesn't know what the term "separation of church and state" even means. Public schools all began with Christian religious instruction in the 1800's. All "separation of church and state" means is that government cannot control religion through laws. Not that God doesn't have a place in public discourse.

Perfect song for a good friend of mine who recently lost her son at the age of 36 leaving a wife and two boys age 7 and 4. The mom of this son loved this song and it meant the world to her❤️ Thank you Blake Shelton for this amazing song!

Blake wrote Savior’s Shadow and it was on his last album. His next album has Bible Verses. No other country artists are putting gospel music out there. He’s been there for a while.

I'm not American but I'm Italian and I have to say and admit that Blake's country voice is really magical ,strabiliant, explosive, passionfull. For me is absolute the best Country voice over the World! Recently I move myself to listen and to appreciate Country music thanks to Blake Shelton voice and his marvellous Country songs! I first saw you in concert years ago when u first started out Blake...been a fan ever since....always felt the need to pray for your salvation and have been praying for years. Its great that someone can write and sing (what will be a big hit for him), already pushing 1 million views in just over a week,, that is without "white rap",, about tailgates, getting drunk, quick talk, etc, etc. A REAL good country song with a gospel feel.

@For Liberty We shouldn't do the "I thank thee that I am not like other men" thing, we should do the "Lord have mercy on me, a sinner" thing. Repentance is a turning, it doesn't include "of your sins" in it's definition. Even God is recorded as repenting. You haven't repented of and stopped all the sin in your life, I haven't stopped all sin in my life, and even Paul in Romans 7 writes about his struggles with sin and the old man vs the new man inside. But your work of stopping sin and living rightly instead has *zero* merit getting eternal life, because for getting saved it's NO works allowed. Of course you should strive to stop sin, please God, and avoid his discipline in your life - but when it comes to salvation, it's repentance from what we were trusting in to save us, including trusting in our own works and efforts of stopping sin to save us, and instead trusting on Christ and the work *he* did to save us. Read Romans 4:1-8, Romans 11:5-6 and many others.
