"Time To Get Movin'!"
Today, we square off with the 1997 Rareware release, Blast Corps, for the Nintendo 64. I never played this game growing up, so it was really neat diving head first into this adventure and experiencing all of its 57 levels, plus bonuses. This game is full of surprises!
If you want to see other Nintendo 64 games cover, and much more, remember to subscribe to MarMax Gaming. Thanks for watching!

You addressed my question at the very beginning 😂 I still kept calling it "corps" until literally this video came out.

One of the very best soundtracks on any N64 game, in my opinion.

It seems like there is a ton of fun to be had in Blast Corps. It's a shame that I missed out on it as a kid. The game's development is intriguing as only a handful of people worked on it. Evidently the Donkey Kong game on Game Boy was the main inspiration for it which is very interesting. Definitely want to check this game out sometime.

Platinum times are crazy. Makes speedrunners managing to 100% the game in under 2 hours... Yeah, those guys got skill.

One of my favorite games on the N64. My best friend and I smashed through this game back in like 1998 and we were able to get platinum on every level. Over 20 years later and I can still remember how excruciatingly painful and frustrating it was to accomplish that. I’m happy to see this game come out on NSO just a few days ago. I’ve been playing it again and having a blast. I definitely will not be going for platinum on every level again, though. No thanks!!!

I'm abusing the hell out if save states on the Switch version and it still feels impossible to get these Platinum medals. Literally in the top five gaming feats of all time to get all Platinums. They want you play like a TAS.

I never played this but did see it in used stores a few times. From its looks, it seems like Left and Right makes you turn in those directions and you use a button or Up to go that way like Asteroids. I never liked that style like in Sub Terra Nia on Genesis or Battletoads And Double Dragon. But I did like a few Rare games like Jet Force Gemini and Battletoads for Genesis and the Master System Version of Battlemaniacs and Star Fox 64. Good review on this one and I like you going over all the vehicles and showing a few ways to get past things others might miss. I'm not really big on Driving games and never learned to drive in real life, so Imma probably skip this one, but the review was good. If possible, I suggest mentioning the control style like Tank Controls or so for those who can't tell. Good to see another review from Ja homie. You do em well.

This game has always intrigued me. I’ve never played it, but I know a lot of people consider it to be one of the better games in the N64 library. After watching this and having a better understanding of what it’s actually all about, I might have to add it to the pick-up list.

Lol! Getting gold unlocks this message: "Expedia members save on travel." All kidding aside, i remember renting this from my local Blockbuster and had a blast(pun intended) playing it. Yeah there's some frustrating parts in the game but just the concept of destroying all these buildings to prevent nuclear destruction was a pretty cool concept.

This and Jet Moto beg for a modern remake! How awesome would these be as launch titles for Nintendos next system!

You think it’s hard now, try playing it on the Switch’s Virtual Console.

I really think they could have left platinum medals out of this game. Getting gold was fun, platinum kind of made me hate Rare for a bit. I ended up selling the game for $10 because I didn't want to see it again. 4 Platinum medals were un-attainable by me. They were the simpler stages like the bulldozer or racing ones that were difficult to get. I haven't tried the game on the Switch online service because I don't think the save states will make this any easier, especially on the levels that require a <12 second time. If anyone wants to do a live playthrough I'll gladly sit through and watch!

This is one of the worst games on N64 EVER! I paid $80 for this garbage game in 1997, all my friends hated it and we went back to goldeneye or turok right away 🫣
