For a first time “pony only” special, this one is very good. Not too many flaws, a good amount of comedy, nice references and great character moments like Derpy(one of the best highlights of the special) and some good songs too. I give this holiday special two hooves up!

I might have enjoyed this more than the entire season just because it kinda capitalized on everyone instead of just having them there for the heck of it. Ships were broken, turned around, mended, and lost- some literally because of Derpy lol Besides all the fun expressions and references throughout the episode, her part was one of my favorites.

Not even halfway through the video at this point, but everyone in this special episode looks their absolute best. Props to the animation team for this one.

You know what's ironic, Rainbow was always that one who was shippable with every mane character and yet in 45:50 she is the only one without anypony(Rarity and AJ, Twilight and Pinkie, Flutters and Discord) and I completely agree with every of those ships

Considering Hasbro's entire reason for existence is to sell toys, it's really interesting to see them make an episode that counters the idea of buying gifts for each other, and just being together is good.
