It's frustrating how absolutely NOTHING on this episode gets a proper resolution. The whole Walt thing is throwed out the window, and Claire resolution is... soap opera levels of melodrama.

Because Claire out of nowhere being a gothic illegitimate daughter of Christian Shepard was painful to watch. And there's the whole "Aaron is special". He was, until he was not. Same for Walt, the kid could literally do astral projection, but got ejected from the show because the producers forgot kids actually grow up. To rewatch LOST is to realize how the show became a trainwreck at Season 03, and how they could never put it back on rails. Not only in the point view of mysteries that just got ignored, or poorly explained, but also in the point of view about characters arcs actually going nowhere. In fact, they only introduced even more characters without proper arcs, so we could just ignore the fact that people like Mr Eko, Ana Lucia, Libby, Alex and many others just got "yeet" out the show.

@@AnonymousSaiyan I know someone already replied but there's also the unfortunate fact that the Claire actress can't do emotional scenes. She's not a BAD actor, but definitely not as natural or diverse as Kate. It still boggles my mind how many people dislike Kate, cuz I didn't even know that was a thing until reading the comments on this channel.

I just wish there was a little more actual reaction to the show live. Makes it hard to get a sense of what they're thinking while watching, other than just their views afterwards. Married to Film gets away with practically the whole episode by cutting away from the footage but still using audio and other tricks like cutting out the spaces between the dialogue. Here, especially in this specific video, most of the time it's the first line of a scene and the last line of the scene thenCUTAWAY!, barely 5 seconds a clip, some scenes even just were a 2 second clip with NO dialogue! A tease! Sometimes a good reaction includes more of what they're reacting to. Context.

I have not waivered much. All these characters are terribly flawed, so I get that. But Locke truly believes that everything centers around him, and does not feel he owes anything to anybody else. It is his hatch, Boone's death was necessary, and on and on for years. Almost everyone loves Locke, while I dislike Locke and only love Terry O'Quinn's performance.

@@michaelshafer5192 Spoilers: To be fair, that was probably MiB's biggest long con of the entire show. A lot of the "Locke is special" stuff comes either directly from MiB or is engineered by MiB to make everyone truly believe it, especially Locke. To make his plan work, Locke and a lot of key people need to believe he is special for them to make the "right" decisions. I don't feel like giving Locke much hate for falling for a con that was carefully thought out for many centuries.

I don't hate Michael. He has done what he thought necessary to have Walt back to him. He is not the only one to kill someone who didn't deserve it. If I had to hate Michael, I should hate two-thirds of the characters.

The leftovers was such a good show, then the ending completely fucked it all up. So unsatisfying. Worse than the lost ending.

I enjoyed watching it the first time but disliked the ending. Second watch through I enjoyed it much more.

@@pnut3844able I think the ending was perfect. I did have to watch the series more than once to appreciate it. Honestly, I’ve rewatched the series at least 6 times and then multiple reactors to it and it gets better to me every time. Yes, some things are not answered but they are minor things. I have also discovered so many things that I missed even after multiple viewings. In think the ending is a perfect closure to the story.

Riight. So one non-resolved plotpoint means all of it was made up as they went along? People like you are hilarious! Walt plot didnt go anywhere for the simple reason that the kid outgrew them, literally. The show takes place in a small amount of time compared to the years the show was shot over. Should they have thought of that before they introduced his special plot to the show? Possibly. But I was satisfied with the amount we got with him. He moved some storypoints forward with his dad and some other characters in season two and that was enough for me. I didnt need to know why he was special or the mechanics of it.

@@shortymtz4658 As far as I know the show never officially told us that. I have seen interviews with the showrunners that they had the problem of the Walt actor growing up too fast, like I said. So the only way they could have done it is to focus way more on Walt and shoot way more scenes with him faster. Or come up with a contrite way of explaining why he aged/grew so much in just a few months. Or just have other characters talk about him for some contrite reason and explain it that way. So they basically abandoned his storyline instead of coming up with a bs reason for all of the growing and so on. Which honestly Im fine with. If you would have asked me during season 1 if I cared about Walts mystery then absolutely I did. But over time, I didnt care. The show wasnt about Walt.

Lindelof and Cuse' only mistake was not factoring in that a child about to hit puberty would be problematic for a series that runs on a very specific timeframe (days on the island). And they did their very best to rectify it in 'New Man In Charge'. Walt was special in the same way Locke was. The Island connected with them in way it didn't with the other 815s. That's why Locke and Walt had such a close friendship/bond.

@@shortymtz4658 A reboot? Short answer, HELL NO! LOL :-P I love Lost, my favorite show of all time. Dont want a reboot of it or even a continuation. It just wouldnt be able to live up to it and it just doesnt feel necessary. I will just rewatch Lost whenever I miss it :-D. And these reactions with Eric and Rick are an awesome way to relive it again! :-)
