In this video I make a make a door for my wall tent. I enjoy some great food and try not to melt while sleeping.
--
Where do I live?
Northern Canada.
How much experience do I have?
That depends. I am pretty good at starting a fire these days and gathering wood. But I don't really have true bushcraft skills and definitely no carpentry or construction skills or training. I could probably make a shelter if I had to, but that would just come from all the KZfaq training (watching) over the years.
What gear do I use?
Canon 80D camera
Rode videomicro
Sigma Art 18-35
Canon 1.8 50mm stm
Canon 18-55mm stm
Canon 10-18mm stm
A cheap 15 yr old tripod
I do not live at the tent. I just visit whenever I can.

Note to self show My husband this video. Damn proud of him he's built shelves for our Airing cupboard 🇬🇧 pretty much as Jay has built this. They work perfectly all wood was recycled and job works it's not Carpenter craftsman standard BUT it does what it's designed to do and you can only build on what you learn as you have shown many times before and become even better❤️

If your worried about the gap on the bottom of the door you may consider a draft strip for doors they sell at Canadian Tire. I lived in a "hard back tent" with tent liner up on the DMZ between North and South Korea during my career in the US Marine Corps. That area of Korea is extremely cold; only place I've been that's colder is Moscow, Russia. Our tent was much bigger, so was our heater. But it kept us very warm unless the person in charge of rising early AM to change the canister which held the fuel oil before the stove went out.

Always good thanks again Jay. We don't have any of that blue wood here just non blue. Glad your finally tucked in it's a good feeling. As a builder and remodeler of homes it gives me great satisfaction making people happy. As a kid my buddies and built alot shelters tree cabins and snow forts. We would scrounge whatever we could. But there was always that moment when we could tuck in and enjoy or labor Sheltered from the cold. Have a wonderful day and stay safe. Ps it looks like you have room for a recliner.
