Why is it so satisfying to watch the little root cutter go up a storm drain, get quiet and then get so excited watching roots shoot out of a drain? No clue but I've been binge watching these since I found this channel almost a week ago. I live in Tennessee and have never seen anything like this. Gavin, you are amazing at what you do. Thank you for sharing this with us and for never giving up on a job unless you know the cause of the problem and a solution. We need more people like you who not only care about the job they do but about the clients.

We all feel the satisfaction when the jetter is roaring in the drain, not muffled by debris. Roots clear, debris clear. Drain working properly. Great work .

I have absolutely become addicted to watching your videos at night. You have a very good methodical way of troubleshooting problems with the drains. And it seems as there are no two exact layouts at all in Australia. It’s kind of like medicine in that regard. No two patients with the same disease are exactly alike. It takes a consistent plan to figure things out from case to case. And it’s fun trying to guess what the problem is. I cannot believe how dedicated you are to trying to fix something. So many ““plumbers ““ would not even go anywhere near this. This is what makes you a drain engineer versus a plumber. Love watching you work.

Gavin, you never cease to entertain. We need more challenging cleanouts like this one. About halfway through I was wondering when you were going to bring old George Jetson the double barrel out to blast those roots out.

To be fair, i'd never had hired someone like you because i'd be 90% sure the blockage is because of the bushes and trees growing into the pipes. I would have straight up replaced the existing pipes instead, because that still needs to happen if you want to keep it running.

It is always a good day when the old Double Barrel comes out to play!

During that last pass I was expecting the lost keys for my 1966 Plymouth Valiant to come flying out notwithstanding the fact they went missing in Northern Ontario Canada . That's how impressive that double head jet is .

I deal with apartment building stoppages most of my days. 200 -300 unit buildings. Wipes, grease, rags, toys, pens, marbles, coins, bricks, dirt.... the instant you know you got it and that stoppage drops... instant gratification. The bigger and nastier the stoppage, the better

Good tip, always flush the toilet and run taps to check for blockages when viewing a house. Ideally if you intend in making an offer the homeowner is present ask where the stopcock and other services are and let them show you they are accessible . ( It could save you ruining furniture etc if you have an emergency and you can quickly shut them off )

As a civil engineer here in the States, with whom I build buildings of all types, I love videos like yours. I am only 31 minutes in, and my gut feeling is the pipe has collapsed in multiple places because of ground settlement and roots by the palm tree. Therefore dirt has penetrated various locations inside the pipeline, from the side of the home to the street. I believe the water jet is only creating a small hole from the house out towards the road at this stage of the video. My thoughts were the same as your conclusions. New pipe and or remove the tree. You are indeed a professional and an expert!

👍🏼Excellent Job,,those old clay tiles will need replaced for sure. tree roots can crack edges and although it's cleaned out. bigger holes and cracks are cleaned out for new growth and more yard soil drainage. Unless You can run a smaller O.D.hose liner✌🏼

So fascinating to see this kind of drainage system used so frequently. I watch another YT channel based out of the American East Coast region that installs drainage solutions and they sometimes run their PVC pipes out to the street like this due to older housing design and such. I don't see it much in my region (Midwest) of the states so I always wonder how better it would be if it was used here.
