BLUETTI just announced the EP900 and modular B500 battery at CES 2023 in Las Vegas. I headed to their booth to check it out and give you my first impressions.
This is a powerhouse that can easily compete with large server rack mount batteries and all-in-one inverter/chargers but with a cleaner install. Capable of 9,000w of pure since wave AC output and super fast 9,000w wall and solar charging, this can handle anything you can throw at it.

@@todd.parker ah, thanks for mentioning that. So to confirm, if you have microinverters on existing panels, there's not a solution to get this to work with the EP900 inverter? I'm not sure if I should mention this in the video. Might just recommend people reach out to Bluetti if they have panels already set up and confirm it will work for their specific setup. I have standard panels on a secondary solar array on my house and didn't run into that issue. It's a fun time to review these types of products as the market is going to explode over the next few years. Stay safe!

What's the difference between the AC500 and EP900, why the difference in naming, this is confusing
@todd.parker
@todd.parker Жыл бұрын
They are pretty different. The AC500 is a large plug-and-play system with a 5,000w inverter that you can just hook together and use like a powerful power station. The EP900 is more of an professionally installed, whole home system like a Tesla Powerwall that is designed to be hard wired to your electrical panel and grid meter. It has a 9,000w inverter - there's no output ports or display so you just install it in your basement or garage and monitor it from your phone.
@ThunderJarvis
@ThunderJarvis Жыл бұрын
I just got off the phone with customer service and they said the EP900 is the inverter and the AC500 the batteries for the system. That makes sense because 3 of the AC500s combined with the EP900 inverter would give you close to 18-19 kWh and 2 of the EP900 and 6 AC500 would give you over 30kwh max system.

So if I just hook it up turn on no buttons no worries is just start working and I really don't need nothing special just for it to run my house and if it never runs out of power and always has plenty of solar panels to charge it up when those really bad time comes and you don't get sun for a long time to those units should work pretty good at 39 kilowatts and 39 kilowatts would that B900 and another B900 that might work for me with two B900's and all it's batteries for both of them and 18000 watts of solar panels and it will still live me with solar panels that I will need to something else for the rest of the solar panels on the house. Blue Eddie 900 I want two of those units with all its batteries that It can take then I hook them up to solar system that does not write to their hundred percent power and make it so to completely charge in four and a half to five and a half and I can go up to six and a half hours to whatever it is to make the battery life longer to make it take a little bit longer to charge to full but still better do it in a day's time a little less than a day's time so there be no real quick charging to no quick decreasing of the power just double or triple the lifespan of the battery just to make it a 25-year battery like I did with my lead-acid batteries that last me 30 years. And yes I do want to change my battery system two or more rated solar panels are still using a letter at the baggage which all they had back then when I started yeah they had solar panels out there long before they had those when they only had that lead acid batteries, or or are you going to tell me that they had these way back in the 1980 or when they first invented solar panels 1964. Which I'm not from that far dack I started my solar back in the 1980's and my lead-acid batteries are now starting to go bad. Yes I started learning about solar panels when I was a kid my dad gave me his old batteries my Grandpa gave me his old batteries in my other grandpa gave me his old batteries and I hooked them together but only as a 12-volt system and I've been using it ever since and out of all that time I've only lost 10 batteries out of 36 batteries which I did replace but now where I got to replace a bunch of batteries about 28 of them and here my batter's ain't solo rated maybe I'll get some batteries supposed to work more for the solar panels. But I can't see buying a battery that cost so much more where I could buy 18 batteries too price of one of EG4 battery that is insane to the $93 to each lead-acid battery 1000 amps 135 amp hour. Impressive haul that acid batteries work so well but cost reasonable price but I did see some AGM cost $269 for one AGM 100 AMP hour battery, less than the 135 amp hour of my battery and they cost three times more. So you guys say there's something better than the common lead acid batteries at good price point and will last longer I just ask that they last just as long as what my lead-acid batteries last me but not at a highway robbery cost and only a third as long. Yes I know everybody wants become billionaires and even trillionaires but to what cost is it going to cost everybody else where to get a 30-year mortgage and has to protect that they're going to work at the same job for 30 years and hope it's not going to close down or there'll be a crash or a crunch or downsize. You see they want everybody to get into solar have a power wall / batteries or whatever but to what means. To where 90% of the United States has to file bankruptcy and lose everything to make a 90 trillion dollar debt just so China come over here and throw salt in the ocean without boats or life jackets I mean what happens if China for closes under 30 trillion dollars we owe to China but first we can add 90 trillion dollars to it yet yes there's some people that can afford solar panels are fordable I can live with the cost of the inverters for the most part but the batteries something that usually cost less then what is everything else did. Let me give you an example I buy one lead-acid battery for my car that battery does not cost $$40,000 to the price of the car that you already got to pay$40,000 that was so Ford companies Chevrolet companies all car companies work went out of business cuz people could not buy cars then because they couldn't afford the batteries and no I will not buy the solar panel inverter sell electricity to the electric company and pay twice as much for it or three times as much as for actually it's five times as much for it to come back into my house. I cannot see the cost of the batteries more than the solar panels more than inverters put together and half the cost of your house for everybody to get what they need. Just so they won't have any problems yes I know I see some videos like that where they do have actually no problems at all no inverter problem the battery of a problem no generator problems but there's too many of them that just doesn't know anything from anyting I can't get nothing to where they need to work. Yes I'm planning on getting a mortgage to get what I would need almost. What I'm actually going to use it for is a few things one is a truck a car and another car and nothing will be new it's all will be used but they all will have less than 100,000 miles on them , I will also put new siding on my house I knew rough new walls two new floors carpet One floor and maybe the hallway all new ceilings to the whole house. Do you want to know the worst part about it is that is I'm going to use the rest of the money to buy solar panels inverters batteries powerwall generators it's batteries and it's solar panels and that is the most expensive part of everything and I could break it all down to you for you to to what actually cost more granite buying solar panels cost me what it cost me to buy the used truck with only 95000 miles on it a Chevy pick up four-door short box. The price of the batteries for the solar panels cost as much as the two cars that I'm going to buy one with 68,000 miles and the other with 38,000 miles on it. Oh I forgot to tell you I'm also buying a camper probably a 40 foot old used yes need some work yes that actually cost the same as the inverters. Something changes the generator the solar panels it's batteries to everything I need so I have no problems what so ever cost as much as a truck car and car camper citing sheathing walls and shingles and also the windows I'm going to replace on my house. I'm actually using 1/4 of the money for the mortgage I'm getting to repair everything on the house and get the vehicles I'm getting as well as the camper the rest of the money is going to solar inverters batteries generators battery solar system and I guess that's the tip of the iceberg least interest rates won't be so bad it's a fixed rate will never change it's not so bad of an interest rate something like 7.2 and also be able to pay off early meanness or panel inverter to have to make it so I can make money by selling it to the electric company they pay $0.14 per kilowatt I do believe they sell it at fifty cents a kilowatt back to you again least that's what they charge for electricity anyways. This way I can put the money into the mortgage to add onto the mortgage I'm already paying just to make the payments go down and to make it disappear eventually. Course if I would have got a separate loan for the truck the car the car and camper I would just pay it off in 4 to 5 years fixing up the house I would just go buy the material when I had the money which is happening this year anyways or this summer.

Lead acid batteries are a poor value compared to LFP, full stop. They have a much lower cycle count to 80% (500 vs 3,000+) and you can only discharge them to 50% vs 100% for LFP so you need twice as many for the same capacity. www.super-b.com/en/lithium-iron-phosphate-batteries/lithium-vs-lead-acid-batteries

The fact that it is reliant on a phone for an interface is just stupid. I bet this thing radiates the crap out of you as you probably can't turn the bluetooth or wifi off because you can't interact with it if it's off. Deal breaker for me.

Well I'll take two ed900 for 18 kilowatts of power going out to run all my big loads which I probably only need which is actually 13.6 kilowatts turn my big loads since I don't have natural gas propane or anything like that and the rest of the power can run my 120 v you probably ain't this somewhat your 2000 w 1700 w 1800 w and some 30 amp 220 split air conditioner heaters. And some electrical tools. I know have some other solar panels of hell part of some of that stuff for an inverted help out and that stuff EB900 and all the batteries they can take and 20 kilowatts of solar panels if it can take it each. The only thing is we're coming at you going to buy it since every time I go to Dad's to buy it they don't let me put it in my car to buy it or even buy it do they have it at don't they have it is just to talk or is this just pretending it's there and still got a build-it. Okay so I'll give it 18 kilowatts of power and I'll just buy more inverters.
