Have you ever heard about Katyusha? No, we are not talking about the Russian name for girls; we mean multiple rocket launchers.

Katyusha rocket launchers are a type of rocket artillery first built and fielded by the Soviet Union in World War II. Multiple rocket launchers such as these deliver explosives to a target area more quickly than conventional artillery, but with lower accuracy and requiring a longer time to reload. They are fragile compared to artillery guns but are inexpensive, easy to produce, and usable on any chassis. The Katyushas of World War II were usually mounted on ordinary trucks. This mobility gave the Katyusha, and other self-propelled artillery, another advantage: being able to deliver a large blow all at once, and then move before being located and attacked with counter-battery fire.

------------------------------------------------------
Variants
Soviet World War II rocket systems were named according to standard templates which are the following:
BM-x-y (names used for ground vehicles)
M-x-y (names used for towed trailers and sledges)
y-M-x (names used for navy)
where:
x is a model of a missile.
y is a number of launch rails/tubes.
------------------------------------------------------
We are sure, that all the fans of "Military Weapons" will find here something related to their interests.

One of the stories my grandfather ( Russian partisan in WWII ) told as after war was, if Katyousha had some kind of a problem or was stopped by the Germans “she” was blown up. Hitler wanted to take the legendary “Katyousha”.

Of course of course. First, the Americans brought Hitler to power, armed him, and then supplied weapons and equipment to all participants in the conflict. What can I say, American Standard Oil tankers even refueled German submarines in the ocean, which also sank American ships. Capitalism!

The first words of the song: «heads and carcasses scattered, shivers beat the Germans across the river, this is our Russian Katyusha, sings to the Germans for peace.» agree that the original song does not sound like that, and this is the first time I have heard such a version myself, apparently it was popular among soldiers, a more aggressive version for the extermination of the Nazis

Katyusha is a young woman singing a song about her love to keep him safe while he fights for their country. It’s named for the reassurance the Soviet troops felt when they heard her song as the enemy came on or they were about to go into the attack.

translation (literal?) of the reworked song "Katyusha" (Google translate) At the beginning of the video in tatters heads and corpses the German is trembling with fear across the river This is our Russian Katyusha Sings a funeral song for the Germans (Nazi) This is our Russian Katyusha Sings a funeral song for the Germans (Nazi) At the end of the video Tell me how she started to sing Tell me how she's doing Tell us about those she beat Tell me about those whose bones she destroyed Tell us about those she beat Tell me about those whose bones she destroyed We all love sweet Katya We all love how she sings The souls of enemies tremble from her song Her song gives strength to friends

You got the "meaning" of the song. The line: " the Germans (Nazi)" In the song the "Nazis" are called "Nemchura". An insulting word for the German-Nazi soldier (NOT people ! -- only Nazis). Comes from the word "Nemec" in Russian is one who is of the German nationality. Doesn't matter who. He is Nemec. Like I am Russian. The official word. You are Ермаков, sounds like of the Russian nationality. Я буду продолжать по-английски. Nemchura .... a different thing. Referred to the Nazi soldier in WW2. The word in the lyrics in a song. "Nemchura". I am sure, you know and understand that. Non-Russians would not. Therefore, they get the "meaning". A deliberately "trash" word for Nazis in WW2. Not so much "insulting" (they did not deserve that to be just "insulted"), but as a garbage word. Much worse, than just an insult. Over there on the street. That word. Understand ? We were taught in schools and in the USSR society: "Do never hate German people ! Those were "Nazis" in WW2 we were fighting with, liberating our land and Europe from. It is not the same !"

I miss the Howling sound of Katyusha in this Video and in the nowadays Ukraine War. Where are the Katyushas???? the Panzer Division Leibstandarte, Panzer Division Totenkopf and Panzer Division Das Reich were sent to the Ukraine. Germany was once in Ukraine. Dont forget. See Battle of Kursk. Battle of Kiev, Battle of Odessa, Batlle of the Krim, Battle of Sebastopol. Those were the Glorydays of Germany. And now Germany comes back with more Panzer. For more Glory. The history repaets itself.

Was close to our base being destroyed by 1 or more of these in February 1981, during an attack at 1.30am from Angola into Namibia. Fortunately for us the closest 1 passed overhead and hit open area 1km South of us! They also fired many 82mm mortars at us. Nobody killed...a miracle after much praying. Was real scary. Thank you Lord Jesus 🙏🏼.
