I show you what I experienced when my alternator went out on me, this happened within 12 hours my car died. The problem was a bad alternator, again this was the original alternator from 2006, while I was at it I also replaced the battery as well because that again was the original battery from 2006.

How much should the alternator's charging voltage be in these beautiful cars...at idle and when loaded, such as turning on the lights and the cassette recorder?

Thank you for sharing. I also have read that you can just change the generator it self and that it runs from $60-$100 and its underneath the alternator.

Chris had battery replaced using oem and registered also replaced alternator problem fixed.

Hi i have a 2004 bmw 545i 6 speed manual, and my radio is blank not coming back anymore and also there is a lot of warnings like you have, also check engine light is on and sometimes it shows the battery warning light, when i accelerate the dash lights kind of turn off and few seconds later turns back on, but the battery dosent drain all the way i dont drive my bmw 2 month now but i start it almost every day, so even if i take it a drive i have those lights on and i noticed the car actually runs a lot slower than it was before like slow acceleration, so what you think? the battery is about couple years old, i thinking the alternator is going bad, but i need your opinion, i will upload a video tomorrow and send it to you just in case!

Hey Chris my Bmw 745 li has a loud cold start sound it use to only sound like this in the winter for a minute or 2 but now in constant any suggestions!?

My BMW always tell me to charge the battery or drive for a long distance. Now i'm considering buying a new battery but can you please show us how to register a new battery ???

PaviIions Hello, yes that's my next step you need a special cord that connects to your computer & OBD reader, and you need INPA software. I still need to order my cable.

The same fault appeared to me yesterday on my car, i think it is because my old battery because lately i think it does not charge that much. I hope it is just the battery.

SalehStudio you can go to a shop if your in the USA like oReilly's auto or autozone and they can test your battery for free. Start with the battery then go to the alternator if needs be. Also check your connections on the battery to make sure there's no corrosion & good contact with the connections.

gigicho21 hello, it means that you need to recharge your battery, you can go to a shop if your in the USA like oReilly's auto or autozone and they can test your battery for free, if your getting this symbol it means that your alternator isn't recharging your battery so your battery dies because it's not staying charged.

Hey chris from +DIYsavecash sorry to botter you again today i wos on my way to work and my 745 start to flash the letter R N P D And start ro said on the screen no transmission display. Poss reduction of gears without depressing the brake. I have a video of it but i dont know how to send it to you about you can see it what can be can you help me on that?

DIYsavecash i just buy today a new battery and went to work and when i come back car data said recharge battery again on a new battery but it dont flash the Directional and reverse i will email u the video now

Hello. I am having the same issues with my 2003 745li. It says recharge battery when I start my car. Also my P,N, and D lights are flashing. I also have other issues for example my park, abs, dynamic drive is inactive and transmission fault as well as other issues. I took my battery to autozone to have my battery recharged but I am still having the same issues. Also, I never have issues starting my car. My car starts fine every time I get into it. Do you still think it may be an alternator or do you think it may be a bad battery? Thanks for all of your help.

Dont you have a voltmeter to see if alternator was charging or not? Come on, you must have one!! Heck, you can even get $2.99 plug-in voltmeter from Amazon which display the voltage at the cigarette lighter plug. Frankly, given the level of repair work that you have already shown in your videos, not doing simple diagnostic before swapping battery/alternator is extremely disappointing.

Why are you giving advice on vehicle repair when you literally have no clue what you are doing? Your car is riddled with faults that you dont know how to fix, you covered warning lights and your only advice in this video is to guess (incorrectly) what the fault is even though the vehicle is telling you the exact fault.
