I bought my 135i at 100k miles and touched every oil gasket, replaced the turbos, injectors, clutch and even all with that I still think about when my water pump or my HPFP will go out. In my mind, the n54 is never caught up on maintenance lmao

People really over exaggerate the maintenance and “problems” N54s have. I owned mine at 80,000 miles and have 89,000 miles on it now and never had any issues at all. I’m planning on taking car of most Necessary maintenance that they call for all at once and I’m pretty sure the car will not give me problems. People who talk about the problems with the car and etc most definitely bought a shit box that never seen maintenance a day in its life and problem had 7 or 8 other owners. Buy the car and enjoy it. Every single car in the world needs their maintenance.

Installing 19t’s as we speak. As far as maintenance goes, pretty much anything and everything you can think of will need replaced at some point, especially if you race. Its just a matter of time. Words of wisdom buy a BMW scan tool cus youre gonna need it, and buy your parts once (with a warranty) and stay away from off-brand parts. Ive changed my waterpump 3 times, one was chinese and lasted a month, brakes, radiator, coolant tank twice, first one was chinese and lasted about 6 months before it cracked, injectors, coils, valve gasket, fuel pump, rewired blower motor, o2’s, 2 window brackets, serpentine belt, battery 4 times (bc I didnt code the last 3) and a lot more lol. But as long as you take the time to do it right, buy quality parts and remove all the weak links youll be in the clear. Its a lot of work but its worth it when youre gapping everybody on the street lol
