Kevin gets out to see if the new six-cylinder, tech-laden offering from the Bavarians really is as good a super tourer as the hype suggests.

Great review of the bike. I am looking to shop for its bigger brother or I should say dressier brother the K 1600 GTL. I did not like the look of the bike at first when it came out but I am getting used to it and I love it. I have looked at about 4-6 hours of review videos and they are all good reviews on the bike. Just getting my finances in order and will purchase before the end of the year.

Yes that is amazing to me too...when you said that in the video I knew it was pricing over there and wondered how it would equate here. Nice write up on the bike...the more I see it the more I wish I had one! I have a 2008 Goldwing now and it is almost paid off...unfortunately my next purchase needs to be a truck. :o(

I don't know where you got the Australian part of that question from? We are in New Zealand, as you can see by our channel details. We are a NZ national TV show (as is also explained in our channel details), so we wouldn't tell our viewers a price in USD$, which is entirely irrelevant to them! That price in NZD$, and i wouldn't have a clue what it's worth in the USA. It is simply amazing how many people ask us this kind of question, or protest that our price is somehow "wrong"!

Oldmanwitherspoon, you are correct sir. I too love the boxer for it's unique character. It's truly a superb machine, almost a 150 lbs. lighter (USA) and only two tenths of a second slower in the quarter mile than the mighty GT. Something to be said for the power to weight ratio I guess. Of course Im referring to the latest version of the RT. Thinking about trading the Connie 14, or GTR as you Euoros refer to it, on the new water cooled boxer.

Very nice review. But it is easy to get confused if you only say "dollars". In America many countries use this currency with different exchange rates. Apart from that, cool review. Very complete.

Is the engine narrower than one of their boxer engines?

1650cc inline 6 with 170hp at 7750rpm.. Damn BMW should make a small sub-one ton two-seater sportscar with that engine...

I thought that too. What I'd really like to see is that engine in a streetfighter.

In the USA only because I checked this bike is only $22,000. Considering the $Aus is $38,000 and we have a better exchange rate the the US; you can see how we in Australia and our Brothers in New Zealand are ripped off.

Why the hell would you need that much power in a touring motorbike? This marketing shit is getting at the fringe of madness and unfortunately is also getting us increasingly shittier products.
