cylinder head is 855 or 731? crank si m54b30 and rods are 130mm? or 135mm rods?

Did you machine the crank counterweights in order to run the 130mm rods?

I tried using the 130mm rods with the 3.0 crank but the rods don't clear the bores at the bottom, how did you get around that?

@@thandomtshali1891 In the beginning of the video you can see that cylinders are machined a little. The same goes for rods. You will find some photos here www.drive2.ru/l/527587461522524135/

130е шатуны на m54b30 колене как встали? Ничего не задевали?

На колене на 5мм стачивались противовесы. В описании есть ссылка на драйв2, там все доработки описаны.

Which crankshaft did you use? Is it the M54B30 crankshaft? And what bore diameter are you running? Nice build tho!

Yes, it is m54b30 crank. Pistons are from m52b28 84mm

Denis Shushkevich thanks for the answer man! What Model did you get the crankshaft from? How comes it doesn‘t have the trigger wheel for the Crank position Sensor?

@@germantrueLP if I'm not mistaken, this one is from x5 e53. But, as I know they don't differ. That wheel can be easily separated from a shaft. It is mounted by 3 screws.

Can we put m54b30 crank, rods and pistons i know the pistons are 2mm higher but i can machine them

M54B30 pistons are too low. If you machine them, there will be nothing left from them. Rods are also wouldn't fit. My rods were from b20b27, 130mm. The key point is that M5X cylinder block is higher that m20's one, so you can't just use everything from any M5X engine.

Колено м54б30 Поршни м52б28 Шатуны м20б27 Болт он не встаёт! Надо точить противовесы на коленвале. В описании ссылка на статью.

How has the car been running since the build? Any problems in the engine?

The mileage is just a few thousands now. No problems at all.

I have the 3.0 crank, i do have access to a lathe to shave the counterweights, but the people who can balance the crank for me are very far and expensive, what would happen if i don't re-balance the crank?

@@thandomtshali1891 Obviously, there will be a lot of vibration, but the biggest problem is that main bearings will be damaged very fast. I can't even imagine how long they can work in such conditions. I would recommend you to build 2.8 or 2.7 liters engine, it will be cheaper and easier. 3 liters won't increase power significantly. For me it was just an engineering challenge.
