Well done Sean, looked fun and scary at the same time. Nice to see Emily stepped up for a pillion ride, saved a serious case of fomo!

Cheers Brian, Yeah that's pretty much how it was lol Had to put faith in the bike and the instructors but it went really well. Learnt so much and had a smile on my face all day. Yeah i was really glad Emily got to experience it too, very brave of her! No idea how she managed to stay on going up those steep inclines as a pillion! 😎👍

it really was a great experience, these are skills that would be difficult to learn without instruction and they give you the confidence to try things out . I was really happy with how the new GS performed off road -really impressive bit of kit

It's looks easier said than done. I never done this but its a very good idea to improve your handling skills and knowing your bike better.

I can totally recommend it! I went from 'there's no way i can get up that' to not really thinking about it in less than a day. The training was fantastic and although we may never use some of what we did it certainly improved my riding skills. And it was so much fun =)

Well Done Sean, you must be very fit to take the pounding and mental challenge of this event. At times I thought I was watching an Itchy Boots video. This will vastly improve your skills, enabling a safer ride for you both. You just need some R & R now to recover. Great commentary Emily…

Hi John, yeah it wasn't a walk in the park that's for sure 😄, the legs were a bit sore on the Monday lol. But wow what a fantastic experience. hehe yeah maybe it's time to go to some Itchy boots locations 😎. Yeah you are right, learnt some really good skills there from the instructors which is priceless and as you say a great way to improve safety. Thanks, Em did great and she got some awesome photos too! Cheers for watching!

Fantastic guys! Great to see a video where someone is just using the bike and not reviewing or click-baiting it! Maybe your next bike?

Thanks! It was so much fun taking the R1300 GS out on the Enduro park. It’s certainly a contender but Shadow is safe for now 😉

Thanks mate! The instructors did a great job of getting us up to speed. In fact the whole group did really well, a great bunch of people that laughed when people fell and at the same time helped each other up. Loved every second of it 😊

Hi Ruud! Yeah it really was great! As they instructor said -they have designed the park so it's more extreme than anything you will likely meet on the trips so you have confidence. It really was a confidence boost, knowing what teh machine can do if you trust it and also trying it with the right tires was fantastic! Also great having professionals to tell you what you are doing wrong and how to correct it -the skills learnt in the first hour alone will be helpful forever! Thanks for watching and cheers for commenting as usual 😎

I have just attended the UK bmw off road training course level 1 for 2 days. What an amazing weekend. They also did a pillion off road course for riders to learn how to ride off road with pillion. There where 2 couples on the course and they rode past us on occasion both stood up on pegs around the course. I thought maybe you would have tried that. Good video guys.

Hi John, that’s great! Then you can appreciate how much fun it is 😎🙌🏻. That’s great that they had a pillion course, that’s not something that was being offered in Germany but sounds like a great idea! -might have to try the UK training sometime 👍🏻 Thanks, it was tricky getting the footage as it was raining so much 🤣

The new look of the motorcycle is not pretty, but the has become more compact and efficient, but would you still prefer the new model?
@SeanandEmily
@SeanandEmily Ай бұрын
Yeah feels a lot more compact and handles great off road! We haven't tried it on the road yet but we hear its fantastic. We are going to wait to see the adventure version before we make any decisions.

yep it is a great bike , but i dont think im trading in my R1250 anytime soon lol , ive invested too much lol, and Sean you killed it out there Mate , awesome , and EM kudos to you for sticking it out there for so long lol ❤

@SeanandEmily Ай бұрын
Hi Garth, yeah totally get that. It's like they have made a great bike to replace an already great bike =) And as you say one needs to keep them for them to be cost effective (as with any vehicle really) especially if you've added bits to them. Cheers! it's amazing the things you can learn at this place in just a couple of days and the potential of these bikes is amazing. Also nice not worrying about damaging your own bike! Em did great! So supportive and the photos she got are fantastic 😎

Hi, i can't explain how good this training was!!! It really was fantastic to learn in this environment with professionals teaching us all day for two days! The park is very well designed that it covers everything and in stepped difficulties. It's also great how it's accessible to people of all levels. Personally I don't think it's pricey. For 2 full days training, including use of teh R1300 GS (with nothing to pay if you damage it -unless you are deemed reckless) is 710 Euro which is basically the same as breaking the screen and mirror on your own bike lol. It's cheaper if you use your own bike or a smaller bike like the F900 or the G310. Here's the link if you are interested: www.twtmoto.com/bmw-motorrad-enduro-park/details/2-days-training/

@@SeanandEmily Awesome 🤩 Thanks! I have a F850 GSA, so it probably would be proper to learn on a similar bike. ( I would probably want a 1300 after I tried one, so I won’t try one.. can’t afford a 1300 😂 ) Thanks again! All instructions in German? Kein problem, Ich verstehe Deutsch aber spreche sehr schlecht 😂
@SeanandEmily
@SeanandEmily Ай бұрын
Nice! The 850 GSA is a great bike! Yeah you can specify which bike you want, a guy used the R1250 as he has the same and it was no problem. Haha yeah sometimes it's best not to look lol 😂 no worries there, there were people from all over Europe so English is also no problem

Ive ridden for 20+ years on road owning mainly bmws. But I’ve never tried anything like this. I’m surprised not to see more coming off to be honest. Agree the bikes are almost always capable of way more than we are. With a pillion must be way harder too.
@SeanandEmily
@SeanandEmily Ай бұрын
Hi Jonathan, you must have seen a lot of change in the development of the BMW then, have you ridden mostly boxers? I actually didn't drop it once -although it came close a couple of times lol (maybe I should push a bit harder next time lol) Yeah I kept reminding myself that the bike is capable and that I just needed to trust it! ...seemed to work 😄

@@SeanandEmily yes I’ve had a 800 and 1200 boxer, a k1300s and now a s1000r. Riding here in Australia is fun but like Norway the speed limits are low and very heavily enforced! Only recently discovered your channel. Like everyone have seen Charlie Boorman on his adventures. Now you guys! Are you sponsored by Touratech/ BMW? Do you do this full time? What is/ was your day job? Cheers
@SeanandEmily
@SeanandEmily Ай бұрын
Oh I do like the S1000R, made a couple of track episodes with that bike and I loved it every time. Yeah I think the there’s not many places that the speed limit isn’t enforced heavily, living in Switzerland we know all about that lol 😆 Then welcome to our channel and we hope you enjoy it. We are brand ambassadors of Touratech and are also affiliated with BMW looking to do this full time 😉

The 1300 doesn’t appear to have the ‘presence’ of your current bike Sean…..what do you think?
@SeanandEmily
@SeanandEmily Ай бұрын
I suspect the soon to be released Adventure version will have the 'presence' we are hoping for. However, performance wise the R1300 GS was an absolute joy to ride off road and I couldn't fault it (mostly because I was having so much fun!) It really did inspire confidence in the rider just like the R1250 has.

An obviously a highly-skilled rider. I've rarely been intimated while riding over the last several decades but this would do it. I have no off-road experience and this is WAY BEYOND my skill set.

Thanks very much! I arrived at the park with very little experience, but the teaching from the instructors was really good that in no time I was doing things that I didn't think would be possible so quickly. Seeing those steep inclines with rocks over them was intimidating for sure - I found the best thing was not to think too much and go for it lol. Such an enjoyable weekend and i left smiling and very impressed with the bike. Thanks for watching!
