We've been fortunate enough to have a 2019 BMW S1000RR with M Package on our BikeSocial long term fleet and here are our Web Editor, Michael Mann's first impressions.
Stay tuned for plenty more updates along the way. Next up: performance testing (dyno and high speed runs) plus a new Akrapovic system!

Lots of haters in the comments, many of whom have probably not even demo'd/ridden the bike, let alone seen it in person. But they're entitled to their opinion. What I find perplexing is the people hating on Michael. To those making such comments: are you that unhappy with your own life that you feel the need to come here to release your negativity and try to bring someone else down? You guys are sad, get a life haha. ~~ To Michael/Bennetts: Thanks for the review! Will be following to see what you all like and dislike about the bike. Cheers from LA!

Gonna get me one next year, good thing i didnt bite on it early on because of all the delays with people reserving them. By next year i can make certain if everything will turn out good with this new s1000rr, probably the best road bike with better comfort than most sport bikes in its class.

i myself owned a 919 FIREBLADE. Well the new s1000rr give you a chance to ride a new tech bike. Well if i'm bored with the tech, i can just ride my fireblade instead. Definitely willl get the s1000rr soon

I own a Panigale v4 so will watch your reviews with interest. Lacks the specialness of the Ducati for me

bah, id still buy a tuono for my next bike. slower than this but the v4 and the wide bars are much better than low clip ons

@Joseph Marton You must be very stupid or slightly high. EU regulations forced motorcycle companies to limit the screen speed at 299 or 300, but in reality when you hit gps speeds it goes well over 310kp/h. Even my older s1000rr showed nearly a 320kph on the on gps. Most modern liter bikes reach 200mph easily on gps.

No it doesn't - we have a full system on ours now (£1600) which will be highlighted in the next update video

You could go for a drink with Lord Lucan quicker than dealers can supply you with an S1000RR....delivery dates are constantly being pushed back. A poor show from BMW to launch a bike then struggle to supply even at a meagre level.

@@samh3467 No you are far from alone...I refused to place order due to ambiguity...my friend ordered on October 2018...delivery has just been pushed back until August...this despite assurances he would get bike early July.

Allan Smillie ordered mine January, bmw has given £500 compensation towards what ever I want at bmw and they think this is good enough. Someone I’ve been talking to on here ordered his February/March and got it in June whilst mine my not be here this year

I'm going to answer for Michael, as he's too modest. He'll be in advanced (and probably intermediate too, as he'll often ride with some of our customers on the discounted track days that we run for them). Nobody likes a showoff, so I'll speak for Michael... he's fast, probably because he's ridden almost every modern sportsbike on most of the biggest tracks in the world. Having worked in motorcycle journalism for about 23 years myself (I'm nowhere near his speed), I'm judging him based on having ridden with the likes of Si Hargreaves, Trev Franklin, Al Fagan etc. John

the 200 section rear tyre on all these 1000cc bikes is too much tyre for the road for such a nimble bike, it only needs a 190 and then you will use it all. it has nothing to do with a riders ability.

i think the M stands for mug, i mean how much was that again, jebus. oh and dont forget your service needs screen, which you propbably have to have bmw do the service on to switch the service lights off. and that noise on start up, no wonder your reving it so people dont hear that cam chain rattle/slap. sounds like a bag of spanners. see how long it takes for the switch gear and twiddle wheel to start playing up. i will say though it does look nice, just dont start it up.

@@martins7194 lol erm nope, i will be stick to my 2 restored fireblades, 1997 and a 2001. and yeah theres nothing wrong with the sound of the bike, if you have ear plugs in. i just dont get modern bikes, over priced and more stuff to go wrong down the road, oh and no service lights to pee you off.

Thanks for the input. The point of having a long term loan bike is, of course, to update our readers and viewers with what the bike is like to live with so expect updates through the year. Yes, that will include the bad bits. And yes, the bodywork grill has snapped already...

sounds bad, looks bad the tail, the brakes, the front, no gills, and also its expensive. Bring the old one back, this is despicable, its like making the best product, but having the presentation be a mathematical bullshit line of how its the best. Its like going on a date, bringing out the figures of why youre the guy, but being unable to prove it- it never works. BMW missed on the seductive part here, total fail.
