Not entirely true. They want YOUR reaction and YOUR thoughts on Bo Burnham. If they only wanted Bo Burnham they would be watching Bo Burnham. The thing about react channels is that it sort of is original content eventho it is based on existing content.

Love how Bo uses lighting and music cues to make the performance even better. Like as he sat down at the beginning... the music started and it was all so slick! Really hope you react to We Think We Know You and Kanye Rant - those are the big finales of his last two shows. Edit: whoops! I see you have reacted to the Kanye Rant!

I have a hate/love relationship with reaction videos 'cause I love seeing how people react to things, but most are so obnoxious or shallow that it's annoying. I clicked this 'cause I haven't seen any reactions to this song yet, and I'm pleasantly surprised. An actual seemingly intelligent person reacting, having relevant input, paying attention and not having over-exaggerated or forced reactions. The holy grail of reaction videos. Actually clicked back so you didn't miss anything, actually built on the video, man. Consider me subscribed. EDIT: Also, check out Tim Minchin's "Storm". Another hilarious but strikingly intelligent musical dissection.

That being said, I love this song, because it shows exactly whats wrong with modern "country" music. 50s, 60s and 70s country songs had meaning and a story to tell, that's why a lot of the time, the songs were very short; quality, not quantity. They were stories, which also is why it was normal for country artists to cover each other and sing the same songs.

4:15 before I listen to the rest of your point, it bothers me when people "put on" the Jamaican or Caribbean accent only for music. That's why I dislike Sean Paul; he talks with an extremely neutral American accent. That isn't his voice nor his mannerisms in his music. I can appreciate the effort, but effort means nothing without authenticity. That's just my own dumb opinion that nobody asked for, though lol

To be fair on the Reggae thing I'm pretty sure there's a lot of immigrants from the Caribbean either from when commonwealths became independent I think they had the option to move to the UK? But at the very least I've read a few things and that seems to be a reason why that is a trend and a thing. They might ust have grown up with reggae or even about people from the Caribbean or who have roots there and have maintained that culture even in spite of being born in the UK. I'm not really sure on that since I'm not from there its just what I heard. So I wouldn't go so far as to say that it has nothing to do with them but I also can't quite say "Yeah, they're reggae in the UK". Just that they did likely have exposure to the actual culture so some degree where they lived and just liked it. Its not like PURE reggae or by extension Caribbean culture but it is a form of it and has some relation to reggae even if its a UKed up version.

In London there are some areas that are majority Caribbean give or take a generation or two, but also I feel like a person singing in a reggae style isn't much different to a British person singing in an American accent of you can sing in a particular way and that's the best way you can sing? Go for it, as long as you aren't disrespecting a culture etc. What's the harm

When you talked about people singing in accents that aren't their native ones, that hit on something that drives me up the friggin wall. I cringe every time I hear a whiter-than-rice person pronounce a non-English word in a hackneyed attempt at an accent. The ones that come to mind first are mexican foods. If you're speaking English, do not roll the damned R's in "burrito", for example. Exemptions apply to native Spanish speakers of course, but when white people do it, it's the douchiest thing I've ever heard.

I know this is an old video, but I wanted to say I think the issue with the accent is less of racism or something like that but more of an obvious lie. The accent is so connected to those experiences of growing up ir being that person and not being that shows how disenginious they are

I dont get what your saying. So what if someone doesn't have an the same race or blood of the singers ethnicity. Like they are just showing how talented they can sing with an accent and language. So your saying thats bad? You need to speak clearly or clarify what you meant. Maybe your just closed minded about who should sing a song that equals to their race.

I think you're a bit wrong about accents. If that's the music you hear, that's the music you sing. People all over the world can sing American songs with an American accent even if they speak English with a different accent. Most of the time Americans can't even tell US artists from UK artists from just listening because singing is different from talking, not because UK artists try to sound American or something. If that person listens to reggae I can very clearly see why they would sing with that particular accent.

See i dont understand your thoughts on pandering, Singing somone elses song and therefore using their lyrics like on a talent show is just singing the song, you arnt standing there claiming that you lived this and you wrote it. What this is all about is that these country stars never did have any type of experience in what they are singing about what they wrote about. A british guy singing I Will Survive doesnt mean hes trying to be in a black womans shoes just because she wrote/sang the song....
@undercovernerd1193

Its not the same to me covering a song and singing it in there voice is two different things you are clearly pandering to a country audience by being an Australian man with an australian accent and using a Southern accent to sing your songs thats not right to me thats not real its fake and you are only doing it so country fans will like you

@@undercovernerd1193 what you don't seem to understand though is you mention UK people and pandering with the accent, a lot of those (mostly) black men have parents or grandparents, in living memory, who migrated over and in their homes they actually hear the accent and speak like that in real life because they grow up with it and it's passed down to kids, a lot of those reggae or afro caribbean or whatever artists, have, in living memory, grown up with that culture through their parents with the accent, food, dress, etc. even if they were born in britain their parents and immediate families weren't, and it gives them perspectives and experiences different to other cultures (white middle class brits, for example), their music isn't pandering, if you actually dive into the genre, it's raw and honest and reflects their own experiences/culture. it's like saying latinx americans are pandering by making latinx music, sure they were born in the US but their parents are often not and they grow up with latinx culture in their homes, and often speak in and adopt the accent and culture of their parents, it's ridiculous.

I enjoy some of your reactions, but... Ouch. I'm sure someone has probably mentioned similar already, but I will just in case. If the raggae culture in the UK you're referring to is coming out of the British African-Caribbean community, it's certainly not pandering in any form whatsoever. There are many families that settled in the UK and most certainly have dialects uniquely their own that resemble other dialects you'd here in the Jamaica, Haiti, etc. Your assumption is false and could understandably offend lot of people. Thanks for understanding.

@@undercovernerd1193 I believe you're still misunderstanding. I lived in the UK, so this is not something I'm just pulling out of thin air. Many have emigrated to the UK from the Caribbean.
