I think what he means when he says "life on earth could be heaven, doesn't the thought of it make it worth a try?" is not about seeing life as heaven but the fact the only reason there's war, famine etc is because humans have made it so. For example, think how many diseases would've been cured if the military budget of the whole world for the last hundred years had been used for medical reasearch. Hell, half of that budget would be more than enough to end world hunger yet, we chose not to. We could create a paradise on earth if we worked together and put aside petty disputes, we just don't do it. I may be wrong, it's just what I took from it.

“This is a touchy subject” I agree 100%. But the thing about bo, is even when he says offensive things... I physically can’t find him as offensive. Like the very first bo song I’ve ever heard was sad. Which has such a high shock factor, I was shocked multiple times during that song. A few months later, I’m not offended by the little things anymore. Bo is great for people who are open minded, but if you’re someone that’s touchy about that, it’s not a good experience 😂 my point is, listening to him made me so less touchy about everything lol please do lots more bo in the future Ps I love your shirt

Greta Myklegard a lot of his humor is making fun of people who get offended by those touchy subjects. His comedy is made in a way that it’s funny to people who have open minds, and he intentionally makes fun of and excludes those who are close minded because they’re honestly just not able to enjoy life to the same extent.

I am a Christian, but I really like this song for both the comedy and the message. I agree with a lot of it and I think people should just take a step back and realize what religion has come to, it's turned into more something to be a part of than something to appreciate and it's basically just all about getting into heaven for most people I think

Yeah I agree the sense of community is nice for sure but the fact that so many things in this life that a normal good person does is considered sin is where it looses me. And on top of that the fact that kids are brought into an atmosphere that this is right way to thinK bugs me espeially when science has such a negative connotation in the church

The bible and koran were basicly lawbooks. And many "laws" were backed up with backstories to increase the chance of being understood and accepted. The koran said you shouldn't eat pork, but that was because they didn't have refrigerators and pork goes bad in basicly a day or two in the heat of the middle east. It WAS a bad idea to eat pork back then. Unless it was slaughtered the same day, it was basicly guaranteed sickness. And who eats a whole pig in a sitting? Chicken is the same but you would likely cook and eat it in a very short time span. Then it wasn't updated and here we are.

I feel that is a modern perspective trying to make things in the past make sense. The Koran doesn't tell you why you shouldn't eat pork. It just says you shouldn't. And pork has been around in the middle east for a long time, without people dying or getting sick from it. There are ways to make that stuff last as well with salt and other spices or just cooking or smoking it... Of course we'll never know. But here's a more likely explanation from my perspective: Mohammed didn't intend to create a new religion. He hopped on the Judaism and Christianiity train and built himself up as a prophet of the same religion, trying to get Jews and Christians into his club (as the chronologically early verses of the Koran show) and when they didn't bought his story turning against them (the chronologically later verses of the Koran. The "kill all unbelievers" ones). The Koran says you should know the stories from the Torah and the Gospels and its just there to set things right that have been misunderstood oder willfully changed over time. So in the Koran you find lots of the things from the Torah or the Bible in a very condensed, boiiled down form, lacking the details or sometimes parts of the stories. Just as if Mohammed had heard that stuff from Jews and Christians in his area and worked with what he remembered. The same with the utterly complex laws on food the Jews have. He just boiled it down to "don't eat pigs". Which again shows us, that eating pork must have been a thing in the area, why else forbid it? And if pork was so terrible for the climate it would not have been a thing. You don't need a revelation to stop eating what kills people or makes them throw up violently... Until it kills them. The whole pig thing in Judaism weirdly coincides with the neighbouring tribes and kingdoms starting to eat pork, which had been introduced from Europe, but the Israelites keeping not to. So it might just have been put in the Torah more for group cohesion than for dietary purposes. And then haphazardly copied by Mo.

@@BeOtterMyFriend This is literally the most idiotic summary i have read of Abrahamic religions done by a person who did zero research on these topics. Muhammad (P.B.U.H) was born in one of the most prestigious tribe of Mecca and in one of the most noble families, he has absolutely no gain or advantage from creating a new religion or even copying one. Islam is not a copy of Judaism and Christanity its the completion of the message of God sent to all the prophets since Adam (P.B.U.H). One of the first persons to actually predict the Muhammad (P.B.U.H) will be given prophethood was actually a Rabbi. But if you still don't believe then, as Allah asked us to say in the quran, "For you is your religion, and for me is my religion."

I think you navigated this touchy issue really well. Personally I'm an atheist and am glad I live in a country that isn't very religious. I think Bo has a great skill for potentially saying shocking things but being really diplomatic and reasonable. Not sure if you've done it but would love to see you react to 'Are You Happy?' which comes right after the Kanye Rant. Also Left Brain Right Brain. :)

as a christian lol i love this song. IT IS SO TRUE! Having an end goal, is great, i mean. good for you ya know. But that in itself is NOT a reason to live a good life. Its an outcome. Its not supposed to be an insentive. I think this song in particular talks about how we all have a God in our lives ya know. We use that thing as an excuse to either live a certain way, or to act a certain way. Instead of living the best lives we can before we die.

I think that the message at the end wasn't about loving yourself, but more about you providing love. In order for you to get love, you must spread love into the world. The more people provide love to others, the more love exists in the world and the more love we get. Basically, we all have the power to change the world for the better, if only we'd do so.

because thousands of wars happened and certain religions like christianity one of the more aggressive groups that not only backed kings with wealth to do so but also had a large army to spread it, same with Islam. Now that most of the dust has settled on that depending on where you are born in the world you have a chance to be 1 of the few remaining religions and those have settled in the places that they won over a long time ago.

As someone who grew up in the cult of Christianity, atheism is absolutely the correct belief. As a child, I was mortified that I would burn in hell for eternity for making even the tiniest mistake. So many of my childhood and teen years were taken from me because my mother assured me that even touching a girl before marriage or masturbating would be a one-way trip to eternal damnation. I was terrified of everything. Turns out I'm autistic too, so believing what my abusive, narcissistic mother told me was easier than it was with my siblings. Anytime I got an inkling of original thought that defied how I was raised, I denied it because why would my own mother lie to me?

You shouldn't need some extraneous reason to be a nice person. Most scientists have now decided that we BEAT the Cro-magnuns because of "cooperation".. The cro-mags weren't just bigger and stronger.. They also had noticeably bigger brains. But something happened in our Chimpy ancenstors where an Empathy switch got turned on. So for the rest of human history, we worked together for exponential rewards, and we kicked the shit out of all the other alpha predators. Being a good person is literally in our DNA, Being good person is a win/win and that got written into our DNA

This video is over two years old, so it doesn’t reality matter, but I like hearing and sharing thoughts and opinions, so, why not comment anyhow? I’m Jewish, and there is a lot of different opinions, views, and beliefs within the Jewish community, so take everything I say with a grain of salt, knowing it’s not shared by everyone. In my local community, we don’t believe in heaven or hell. Judaism doesn’t focus on why you should do good, but more on how you should do good. That’s why we spend our new year asking the other people in our life for forgiveness, why w our obligated to yearly charity. Judaism isn’t connected by belief in god or heaven, it’s connect by us as a people wanting to help others. Our prayers are to better ourselves, our days are supposed to be spent helping others, our holidays are spent celebrating our continued survival with friends and family. It’s less a means to end and more a starting point for us all to live the best lives we can. It’s why I love my religion. Of course, Judaism doesn’t actively look for converts - and for good reason. Others way of life is just fine, so there is not need for them to live ours. Many people, religious or not have started looking less into the after life and more into what can be accomplished here and now, and I’m very happy about it. What’s better than all of us living for each other? Living just because we can and should?

I'm a devout Christian, and I found this song pretty funny. I don't care what others believe or not. I personally found peace by devoting my life to God, but everyone lives life their own way. As long as you aren't hateful or hurting others, do what you want, believe or not believe what you want.

I like your approach to morality. Personally, I go one step further. I believe that a statistical believer is immediately less moral than a statistical atheist. Because you can't be a good person if you do good things just because you are counting on a reward. And at the same time, you don't do bad things because you are afraid of the consequences. Good things should be done selflessly, and bad things should be avoided for the sake of others. Fucking empathy, not fear and greed. Religion is a form of stick-and-carrot training. Only the stick and the carrot are theoretical.

I’m not religious by any means. I hold almost the same beliefs as you, as in I’m not athiest, I just don’t hold any beliefs at all on the subject. With that said, I understand why other people are religious. They may have come from a bad home life, or may have a bad current situation. Or maybe they have the, “white picket fence” life and would otherwise feel in a rut without religion. Religion gives people hope; Hope for better days. If there’s anything that can change the lives of people for the better, it’s the power of hope.

A lot of religious people don't necessarily believe in the actual characters in the bible. It's more of a guide through life, something to hold on to when life is the darkest and when life throws you a curve ball. It's something to believe, and that's for a lot of religious people the true meaning of faith. Having faith in your fate no matter the outcome. But nice video nonetheless. I myself don't believe in god nor am I religious, But I do respect religion.

This guy got almost the complete song totally wrong. You can't love anyone else if you don't love yourself? He's saying if you want God's love, it has to come from YOU meaning to show it, be kind, help people, and shit. Opposite of what I'm doing but you didn't really put much into this. Sad. Just throwing it out there! The default position is atheism. I'm sick of people being scared of the word cause they don't want to offend people. If you aren't sure if a god or gods exist. That makes you an atheist.

I mean.. lots of people need to learn how to be what's considered good. We like to think we're born with it, but you see in babies all the time that they can get frustrated and hit another baby though it did nothing wrong. People say stuff they think is funny that ends up being hurtful to a friend. We need to be taught morals, like we need to be taught common sense. I'm not saying religion has to be the catalyst of morality or ethics, as it's just another version of an entity wanting to protect capital rather than its subjects, but I think we should have a common sense class. For most it's needless, but we could save a lot of people a lot of pain if we did. At my university we have a yearly health and safety course, with mostly information that's so basic you want to pour acid in your ears to get out of it, but time and time again you have someone who weren't at the course, doing something stupid and paying their skin for it. Common sense is common when you have it. Like pouring water in boiling oil, or removing lint from the dryer, it's something you're told about.

Sometimes you need to take a stand. its fine if u dont, many dont... the world is full of those. But people are killing and negativing rights in the name of their gods and if you arent willing to say something about it, your ¨the heaven on earth¨ idea is selfish at it best. I guess your right, is perspective. My uncle died of covid this year because his wife and religion didnt allow for him to get treated. We tried everything but belief is a protected right, in a 3rd world country like mine, believing in gods is more important than life. I get mad at people like you. you remind me of those people i need to pass at the halls to get help to save my uncle. They are just there, in between.

As a Christian I don't believe that if your are good you go to heaven I believe (according to the bible) that you can be the biggest asshole your entire life as long as you admit your a sinner believe that Jesus died for you and confess your faith in him you do all that and no matter what you do god will forgive you and you go to heaven (Jesus died for all the sin you have done and will do) but as a Christian I feel that you should strive to be a good person (BTW hearing your story about how you don't know if there is a god or not I'm pretty sure your an agnostic) (just wanted to clear up that you CAN'T go to heaven just by being "good" so don't try to be perfect you were born a sinner so no matter what you do unless you do the above you go to hell)

@@undercovernerd1193 agnostic pertains to knowledge not belief, if you're agnostic you are saying you don't think we will ever know he exists but people believe things regardless of their knowledge on the topic. Either God exists or he doesn't, either you are a theist or you are an atheist agnostic is not a middle ground it's a whole other arguement.
