It's time to go up to the mountain! Build some machines, and work under questionable conditions!
Let's play Whistle Mountain!
Luke Laurie and Scott Caputo joins forces to bring us a fresh and different feeling tile laying, worker placement game!
Is the fresh feeling enough to make this game stand out? Watch the playthrough to see for yourself, and watch the review to see what we thought about it!
Thanks for watching!

Funny that your negatives were about the way it looks and components; it's actually what made me want to watch this video! It looks very cool and the components look awesome. Anyway, I enjoyed the playthrough thanks for making it :)

That just shows how different people are! :D I also do enjoy the looks, but they make the gameplay a bit harder, which is something I do not like! Hope you like the game!

Great game. I got it for my nephew. Love the unique worker placement mechanics. The title throws players off a bit, so I add it is 'Airships & Architects' to go with the mechanics. Thank you for the playthrough!

I definitely liked this one more than you both did, this is kind of my Tekhenu equivalent. I think you overestimate players though. I’d be afraid to throw this out as a next step light game , I’d still put it on the light end of a mid weight Euro with all the options within it.

@51:34 Johannes built twice above the bridge. Should the water have risen for each build? I think the rules say for each machine.. Great play through. Just received this game and hope to hit the table with it today. "Hi-5" "This time it made sense"🤣Oh.. I will be gluing some punch board under the first water tile to create that hard stop edge. Thanks for the tip.

That is true! I’m pretty sure we fixed it a little while later, we counted there was one too few waters :) I also like the recognition for my amazing jokes 😂

Is this a prototype? Such a bummer those cards dont have any art on the back. Love the look of that huge dreadnaught though! Smart idea to put WP spots in the dents of the edge of the board, makes it way less cluttered. Thanks for the video!

Glad you enjoyed the video :) It’s not a prototype! I don’t mind the back of the cards, but I can understand that some would like it to be different! Thanks for watching!

Yikes, the back of those cards and tiles leaves a little to be desired for me. Gameplay seems interesting but looks and quality of comeponents seem a little on the limit for me. Enjoyed the video, hope you guys are having a great Christmas!

I dont think the back of the cards are the most amazing ever, hehe, but the looks of the game are pretty cool, even though I am not a fan of how the graphic design blocks a bit for the gameplay. Glad you liked the video! :D

Hmmm, I need to like this more than 7-8 after what I've heard of it. We shall see, but I'm sad that it won't be till New year when I'll get a chance. 😕

No theme? But there is a theme about the exploitation of the mountain for the ressources, wich make the machine melt the snow and make the snow melt and make the whirlpool get bigger. No big story, but the theme touch the mechanic of the game. They explain a little in the rulebook

I don't mind no theme, and wouldn't say this has a lot, but thanks for pointing out those theme points to those who care more about theme than we do, hehe :D Thanks for watching!

46:30 Question: she placed 2 scaffolds above the line. Would she add 2 flood tiles at the bottom or just 1 per turn? Also I believe she missed using a machine when she built, from her ability

The water rises when you build a machine over the bridge :)
@Cleansweep38
@Cleansweep38 3 жыл бұрын
Board Gaming Ramblings but is it one flood tile per build piece or one flood tile per turn? She built 2 scaffolds and 1 machine and only added 1 flood tile. Had she added 2 one of you meeples would have fallen in the lake or 3 would have sent 1 of hers and 2 of yours into the lake.

I have the same question, the rulebook says 1 per machine...so is it like if there already was a machine above the bridge and a second machine is built on a later turn, would it be 2 water bars that get placed or just 1 for the trigger? I dont trust the language in the rulebook since pg.3 setup step 9, when it told me to place a reward on each other step but the image and every video I've watched has a reward on every step. :( Even the updated rulebook still has these 2 questionable lines.
@Cleansweep38
@Cleansweep38 3 жыл бұрын
A Online as far as the rewards on the steps: I watched Rhado play and he said one goes on each step and Only the first player who goes there benefits, by getting the reward. I thought that maybe you had a special ability that allowed you to get more from that disc that you picked up. The both of you were talking how powerful it was.
