One of the most amazing things about this man is when he started having kids he packed it all in because he wanted to be there for them and take care of them while they were growing up. And later to take care of his mother. Funniest thing about it...his kids had no idea he was a legitimate rock star and didn't find out until they were older. Mad respect for this man.

Love that. I watched a documentary called “Still Bill” about Bill Withers. His wife said kind of the same thing - that Bill would refuse tours and performances because he wanted to be there for his kids. ❤️

True story!! I did not realize this until last year when I went to see him at pine knob. The guy sitting next to me had seen him many times and said he had a friend who's daughter went to school with Samantha. He said his daughter came home one day and told him she and samantha had found and watched some old tapes and were laughing at how silly sams dad looked dancing and singing on the tapes. They had no idea WHO Bob seger was to the rest of us. To them he was dad and funny as hell on those tapes.

Bob Seger writes and sings deep songs. Each one has a story to tell. He definitely paid his dues and earned his G.O.A.T. status. He's got talent flowing through his veins!
@coachhumph5524

If you have seen the Eagles documentary Don Henley gave Bob Seger so much credit for helping him early in his career. Seger told him basically the best way to become a great songwriter is to keep writing songs. Henley said he was worried he would write bad songs. Seger replied well they are going to be bad, just keep writing. The rest is history as we all know for how great of a songwriter Henley is but it also speaks to how Seger became such a great songwriter too.

@@kimberlywarren1183 That's what was troubling me as far as my memory of the documentary is concerned. Frey is from Michigan, same as Seger. Henley is from Texas. That is what makes me question if Seger's advice was actually given to Frey and not to Henley since both Henley and Frey wrote songs for the Eagles.
@kimberlywarren1183
@kimberlywarren1183 3 жыл бұрын
@@coachhumph5524 I think the advice was to frey...but he met henley thru him. glen played with Seger for a while when they were coming up. My dad grew up at that time in that area. He said that there were so many local bands and the better ones played at a venue called "the hideout". He said they all would meet there and sit in with each other..but it was before he was big. I do think he and henley were friendly though. I saw that documentary but don't remember that specific part

My favorite song by my favorite singer. Had the privilege of seeing him sing it in 2019 on his farewell tour. He still belts it out... sends shivers down my spine. Bob is a great song writer and a great man. He has collaborated with many great artists such as the late Glen Frey of the Eagles. I have seen him many times in concert and he demonstrates an awesome performance. He is admired by many successful colleagues including kid rock who has shown up ad hoc at his concerts to perform songs with Bob. Jon Bon Jovi was inspired to write an epic song like Turn the Page which resulted in Wanted Dead or Alive. Bob is authentic and genuine in his songwriting. Thank you for enjoying this song - it is great to see his legacy be appreciated by younger generations!

Life as a rock star comes at a price, that’s for sure! Even the sax had a sound of anguish. That was so good.

Thank God for you finally get to this! On my wish list since last year. It's a great classic, timeless song even after all the time passed. I agree with the crowd; try Still the Same. Segar is a definite banger all the way, all day long!

Going thru your guys channel and I saw this...I grew up listening to Bob Seger. Im from Michigan and my mother and her brothers would watch him out on the lake way way way back. Bob used to call my mom little Debi..And my uncles would party with him and his band out on the lake..So many stories to tell...

Seger can sing the back of a cereal box and make it sound like a life story. He’s that good. Thank you again Twins for your reactions. You two are priceless. ✌🏼♥️

I love that his annunciation. I understand every word. Many singers don't sing clearly. I often don't understand most words they are singing. Not Bob. He sings with clarity.

Best eight dollars I’ve ever spent… My first concert ever was in 1980 - Bob Seger at Cobo Hall in Detroit. Electric! I’ve seen him every tour since. Amazing performer! Sincere songwriter! Incredible person! Been his number one fan all of these years. The number one item on my bucket list is to meet him, not in a stalker way, but would just like to shake his hand.
