Great stuff fella, yup always refer to M.i. I pretty much always mix a white wine vinegar solution in a small hozelock garden sprayer. Nice simple job on this one. The solid electrode bracket is van stock. I'll always suggest a customer change it. I've condemned 3 worcester cdi's because of the devastation it's caused. Shockingly one had been so call serviced by another Rgi 3 weeks prior. Anyone servicing be sure to do your visuals and f.a.g.s. you cover regulation 26.9 at minimum always and you'll sleep easy. 😜

Thanks bud! Great advice - yes the sprayer is much better. Mine has gone walkies and haven't replaced. Check out safe_flame_uk on Instagram, he shows off his great lil sprayer 😉. And absolutely I do try and get the customer to invest in one, but after spending money on the service, seals and as I go in after another engineer the year before they can start to think I'm trying to get money out of them. I show the customer what I've changed and why always to keep the trust. Tell me about it, how it's not a manufacturer recall on those electrode bars, I'll never know. I'll pin your comment mate. @@goldgas1216 very good video explaining exactly what the engineer should be doing in a boiler service. Just want to know how many minutes minimum it should take a Worcester boiler engineer to carry out a proper Worcester 30Cdi boiler service including cleaning heat exchanger, replace electrodes and change seals and clean condensate trap and change seal etc. Full boiler service as per manufacturer’s instructions?

The only Worcester model that is easy to work on, and you don’t cut your hands. Hate Worcester boilers with a passion. Good video by the way.🤙🤙

clean the heat exchanger from top down.bottom up youll end up with debris filling the gaps where you just cleaned below

As always this is a guide for gas safe people only! I may not cover everything in every video as it will get repetetive and too lengthy- Do your visuals, clean whole condense trap, flue integrity, check burner and gas inlet pressures, check/replace all seals, clean. Always refer to Manufacturers Instructions please.

The brush goes right into the heat exchanger, that's why the handle shaft is flat.

Great video mate, what you look at next if you couldn't get the FP to pass after scrubbing it? I had one today that wouldn't go over 3.2 (was 1.9 o max) P1 is ok, all other checks ok. I'm heading back tomorrow morning I need to get myself on a Worcester course to pick up some in-depth knowledg

I’m currently training to sit my ACS and your vids are very very helpful. I sometimes struggle to get boilers into service mode. Even the MI’s are often of no use. Any tips or advice is always appreciated.

What do you recommend for a heat exchanger that is partially clogged with ash ?

I was a Worcester service engineer for 15 years, if you take the electrodes out for any reason you must fit a new gasket, but seeing as the red silicone gasket is no longer available you have to fit a new set of electrodes complete with the new ceramic type gasket !. But good job otherwise.

Cheers mate, I'm pleased coming from a Worcester engineer! Everyone, as mentioned check your MIs, it does state change the electrode seal. Luckily I have some from an old spares job lot. But Brendan is right, you have to buy the new electrode bar kit now if you remove the electrodes... Which you should to clean.. Prewarn the customer as it can start to get expensive. Not all manufacturers are like this regarding seals.

Hi, what possible issues could be, boiler was off for a while and now getting EA error codewhen open hot water in the bath. Other taps seems OK.

How does the gas enter the exchanger and does the water go thru a coil or those pieces of metal

You can take the 2 screws out of the top of the casing too and will fold up and remove to aid service clearance for brushing top half of exchanger and flushing .

Hi mate , im struggling on a cdi , it comes up with a e9 fault , the pumps fine , everything seems fine , system water is clean , was thinking maybe thermistors ?? Cheers for any advice mate

👌🙌 Cheers mate! Nice of ya. Most of the details are in the manufacturer's instructions, but some you learn from just doing so many, technical can give you some tips and ways to do it. Also other people's youtube can help. Heating geek, pb plumber, goeffrey needs training are a some off the top of my head. Also instagram RsGassolutions.

Gold Gas Videos I want to do my gas and get into servicing but not sure how I’m going to get into it when my employer doesn’t do servicing. Just trying to learn as much as possible. Don’t really want to be fixing toilets and doing bathrooms. Rather do the heating side of it all

Is there any chance of you posting a Worcester compact servicing vid??? Got a few checks on one coming up so it would be greatly appreciated if your able. Once again great vids and keep them coming.

I'm loving the b.d & servicing... I'm a qualified plumber and I've mainly done boiler installs, so doing the other aspects is great to develop an all round knowledge. Especially on older appliances like in your vids ie: floor standing Kingfishers and back boilers... Really glad I've found your channel. Thanks once again.

My cdi, which has a WB maintenance contract, seems to get a greatly inferior service than this.

Because as per the MIs you do not have to do this full strip down clean yearly. If the reading from your negative and pressure is within the tolerance then it is not necessary to do it. I wouldn’t leave it any longer than five years for replacing the electrode set and servicing the heater seeing you like this with new seals. It’s got the glass window type it’s been changed to the updated modified version. As it’s not worth taking the chance when that little window goes The cost of the repair.

Damn... I had a service by British gas last year and he done none of this, he literally pulled the front of had a look around for about 5 mins and then said it all looked fine and put the front back on and left, was there probably 10-15 minutes in total 😳

All to do with the reading on the fan pressure test. Age is another factor. Once hit 4/5 year. I'd advise a full service. Not required every year usually 😂👌
