This saved my bacon today, replaced plate heat exchanger, right hand side block and manifold, as well as PRV. No way I'd feel comfortable enough to tackle this job without this video.

Thank you so much for this video. The company responsible for my boiler insurance with Domestic & General have to come back and replace the PRV on my Greenstar 24i Junior. I now know that, after shutting off all the radiators and draining what's left, a competent plumber should be able to remove the hydroblock relatively quickly in order to replace this part. I've seen several videos that attempt to replace the PRV without doing this, and it seems far more trouble than removing the block. While I wouldn't consider working on the boiler myself I really do like to know what is being done, and how it should be done.

another thing to be advised about .. the washers that go in the top of the hydro-block are called Bonded Washers they are bosh specific they have little tabs do not try put the system back together without them. I am not sure where mine went if anywhere... but i did find broken Fibre washers which lead me to believe that was the washer needed.. which is wrong... cut a long story short after watching a few vids and visiting a few plumbing spares websites i found out about that the correct proprietary washer.. another side part is that you can use a regular bonded washer on the left hand block that does not have little tabs.

Roy, fab video.. my right hand side plastic unit was all fured up with a leak. I drained and replaced the right plastic unit, the flow turbine, re pressurised to 1.5bar, (the diverted valve solenoid looks really low and doesn't raise more than 3 mm) and it will not turn on. Blue light mostly off, 1 blue light to two red lights. What amhave I missed / need to do? Many thanks Roy and team.

Don't understand why they put the prv where they did, you can pop a baxi out in minutes, having to take the hydraulic block out just doesn't make any sense, and they don't come out as easy as you are implying, also you forgot to mention those unusual metal type washers that you can miss when to release those clips with the pump pliers, then you can't buy the washers and seals just enough to replace the prv, they supply a big bag with every clip, O ring and washer in the boiler around £45, I've got a big tin of the ones I didn't use. Even standard fibre washers won't fit as the male end has a little lip on it so you can only use WB washers and they don't give you any extra. I walked away from one of these last week that needed a new prv, just couldn't face it.
@joe2mercs3 жыл бұрын
I would be interested to see common primary heat exchanger faults. Recently had an cast alloy heater exchanger on a Worcester Bosch RD32 split at the side that was not visible from the front. It would hold pressure when cold but when the heating was re-engaged it would slowly lose pressure and leak out about a litre of water in 24 hours.

Hi great video, just a quick question, is this the same setup on a Worcester Bosch greenstar 30i? I have a problem with my boiler, when the hot water is off the pressure goes over 3 bars but when the hot water is running it drops down to just below 3 bars. What can be the main issue? Cheers

I have a P2P to change on the Greenstar classic the pipes go straight out of the valve into the wall so no chance of moving hot pipe out of the way, do you recommend removing the hydro block to change p2p

Hi Allen, do you (or any readers) know where we can buy a PCB for a Mains Eco fan please? I think it's also known as the fans 'speed modulation board' < it's positioned in the housing on the back of the fan... All we can find on the internet are Worcester fan PCB's - Cheers
@royfugler99713 жыл бұрын
Hi Chaz, unfortunately the fan Pcb is not available as a separate part, I know some of the Baxi engineers, just change the Pcb but have to take it from a new fan.
