Remember the shojo manga that everyone fell in love with in Kaguya-sama? Yeah, that was Sweet Today, the same manga being adapted in this episode. Akasaka has actually confirmed that Oshi no Ko takes place in the same universe as Kaguya-sama.

Which one comes first, chronologically? Does the anime adaptation mentioned in Kaguya already exist in Oshi No Ko, or is this the first time it’s adapted in anything? I read both mangas already, but can’t remember.

@@matilozano96 Kaguya comes first iirc, considering (spoiler) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . By the time OnK comes around, Kaguya’s cast have already graduated, the eponymous character has also married to her loved one (she’s mentioned by the surname Shirogane in a side story)

Akasaka’s latest work has also been immediately confirmed to be in the same universe. An actress is mentioned in chapter 1 from OnK.

About the 45510, Akasaka wrote a short novel about Ai's life at B-Komachi through perspective of one of older members, its explain the meaning behind the numbers, there's no spoiler, you can check it out if u want.

I’m glad you guys are interested in both the revenge story and the commentary on the entertainment industry. The series strikes a balance of both and I’m worried that people who were drawn in by the former are gonna be disappointed by how much of the latter they’re gonna get, even though both sides of the story are equally well-done.

@CaffeLand-zf4sj Ai's death wasn't a gimmick. Without it, it would be a much worse series. Ai's death gave a lot of depth to both the characters and the plot. If this story was just about two twins trying to make it in the entertainment industry, it wouldn't be anywhere near as good as it is. The story would be much shallower and not as engaging.

The commentary you had as someone who went to film school was so cool!! And especially using the series as a way to look at real life and even yourselves as a part of the entertainment world is really interesting. I’m loving the analysis and would love to see more of what you guys think of the show.

45510 is actually the title of a short story written by Akasaka which is the basement for the opening song "Idol" by Yoasobi. In this story the title was referenced as Ais smartphone keyword and the initials of the members of B-Komachi where Ai was a part of.

i love how much kana has grown since she was a child. one thing oshi no ko does really well is the character developments. many characters you dislike/hate at first glance (like kana, producer's wife...etc) will all get developed later on and become much more likeable.
