Hi! My name is Leonie and I am a 22 year old girl who loves talking about books! From YA to non-fiction to classics, I read it all (although fantasy will always be my fave). I live in the Netherlands and go to university, but make booktube videos in my spare time :)

i imagine that the timing of when you read a book plays a big factor in shaping your opinion around it! a significant portion of ppl i know that loveeee the little prince read it when they were a kid or teen/weren't aware of all the hype/particularly attached to the themes (innocence, imagination, critique on cynicism, etc.) in that story prior to even reading it. in any case, i'll definitely be adding your recs to my to-read list !! :)

I think my love for the Little Prince has to do with how I was feeling when I read it. I read it for the first time as a kid and it was just okay to me. Then I read it again when I was 15 in the middle of the night when I couldnt sleep and was extremely emo hhhh , and it hit me differently and I felt like i was reading it for the first time. I dont know if present 21 years old me would feel the same way tho, this kind of makes me want to reread it again just to see

The little prince is such a gorgeous story, very interesting how they get the message across I loved the winternight trilogy. I think if you are at all intrigued, then I would say continue as the story get a even better, I feel

I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH YOU ON THE LITTLE PRINCE!! I saw a stage production once, and it blew me away and made me cry, but when I read the book, I was like...okay?? Where's all the stuff I felt? I dunno, I also felt kind of let down. Edit: I also felt lukewarm about The Bear and the Nightingale, but I LOVED the second and third book! I picked up the second one because the synopsis sounded cool, so I'd totally recommend giving it a chance!

It's quite an old book. My dad read it as a kid so I assume it was more mind-blowing at the time. Also I read it when I was 6 or 7 and I could clearly see a snake instead of a hat. I think when you're a kid you haven't delved into these philosophies yet so it opens up your world quite significantly.

I recommend that you continue reading the second book after the bear and the nightingale bcs that's when the actual story + action *really* starts. anyways, the trilogy became my favourite series for last year so it feels good watching others reading it 😄 oh also, the pronunciation for vasya is actually 'vasia'. blew my mind the first time I found out about it so I figured you might be interested as well :D

Love these, just added a couple to my own list! Also that eleanor book is one I randomly picked up because it sounded good at a book sale so I basically got it for less than a pound and now everyone is talking about it! And I have yet to read it past chapter 1 ahh time to catchup 😂

I don't know where to start .... Maybe by the end? And that Mozart music? Haha I don't doubt you're very cultured but it was fun to listen to Mozart at the end of the video. Well, and about the books, Winnie Po Taoist surprised me. I really don't have philosophical or transcendental problems because I am Catholic. And about the little prince you are right, in the end everyone understands that book but it leaves us some mystery. The rest of the books, wonderful. I loved hearing you in your mother tongue, the Dutch. I would like to learn it. Maybe one day you make a video in Dutch. It would be like a lesson and you my teacher. Regards 😘📙

I feel the praise may come from people associating it with the memory of their childhood and reading it as a kid in school. I also know that it's a book kids have read in school in many different countries for decades.

I agree with you about The Little Prince! The message is good, but I don't think it's a groundbreaking book. Plus, I got a copy of it as a gift when I was really young, and the snake scared me silly.

How many hours a day do you read? Wow. I can barely finish a book in 3 months. The Idiot by Fyodor Dostoyevsky took me around 5 to finish, and that was like 30 to an hour every few days. 6 books. That's fantastic.

I mean it's there and I respect it but I don't understand this huge hype. xD Genre pour de vrais les gens ils forcent de ouf, j'ai pas compris cette hype, j'ai lu le livre en une soirée et je suis grave restée sur ma faim.
