I’m so upset this show ended. It was truly my absolute favorite show. I still til this day rewatch reruns over & over. Please please please bring Born this way back! It really did an amazing job showing the world what Down syndrome is like. Please bring it back.

I think that it’s great that her mother makes her pay for it and has her count the money. She could have made things easier on her and just done it herself but instead she let Megan do it so she can keep learning those important life skills

This show is just so beautiful. It makes me laugh, cry and love each and everyone of them even more. I love them all! Megan just sparkles like a diamond.

This honestly warms my whole heart so much. My little sister has downsydrome and she is such a dreamer and such a romantic, she has so many goals and so many desires and it pains me to know that a lot of the time she doesn’t believe in herself because too many ppl have made her feel like she won’t make it because of DS, it’s shows like this that encourage me to keep fighting for her and to keep pushing her & it’s shows like this that will remind her and others that having downsydrome does not limit you. It only gives you more opportunity. I love this & support this so much 💗

I think what Kris has done with megan is amazing and impressive. I do feel at times, their relationship isn't healthy - for example, she's a 23 year old young lady and she always has to hold her hand. She should allow her some personal space. I am in the mental health field, I observed this in the first season. I've really enjoyed the show and congratulate them on their success :) hope the wax session went well!

Her mother really needs to find a system or a way for Megan to count money or calculate her money. I've seen too many times Megan struggling with the money situation. Or give her a debit card or something Idk.

I was a part time house parent (I had a full time job also) at a group home of adult mentally handicapped and my husband was full time. Even though I loved each and everyone in our home and on the show, the show kind of sugarcoats situations. Some had violent tendencies, one hit me in the stomach when I was 6 months pregnant, some would steal from the other clients and destroy their things and you know they are adults and have adult urges, boy/girl, boy/boy and girl/girl. They have to be watched closely too. Not all was like this, we had great, family times. We’d have games we’d play, cookouts, road trips to zoos (very interesting during mating season!)😱 We’d go out to the lake and watch when huge groups of bald headed eagles hanging out a few days and pelicans too! I’d do sewing for them if something ripped, if they were sick we’d take care of them, would teach the girls how to shave their underarms and legs without butchering themselves. We celebrated all holidays together and all would decorate and if they wanted to fix up their rooms with pictures, nicknacks, different designed bedroom decor, etc. They ought to learn to and have their voices to in what they want to decorate rooms and what clothes they want to wear. Just wished this show brought out real life situations than to just show mild instances. You don’t love them any less you just know you’re there to help them conquer real life. You can learn new things to from dealing with these situations. Good luck to you all!

I love the show and watch it religiously, I even got other members of my family watching it. I tell my son that I wish I was younger because Megan would be my girlfriend. She just has that special something going on. I love her willingness to be independent and a successful businesswoman. I admire the love she has for her mother and her ability to sense when her mom doesn’t agree with something she’s about to do or get into. My heart just melts when she looks into her moms eyes and tells her everything’s alright in so many words, I also love her laugh and to see her happy with her friends.

Brazilian wax a whole another story

Notice the mercy edit where they cut from Megan hopelessly staring at a bunch of bills in her hands with her adorable chubby cheeks to all of a sudden Megan is holding $40. She has no idea she's holding $40, which is why she still ends up looking bad when her mom has to tell her its $40 instead of $25. But also apparently they don't get a tip b/c Megan never learned how to add 20% to the $40. Jesus, could you imagine trying to explain percentages to Megan or Shawn. Shawn would stand with his mouth open drooling. Megan would stand with her duck lips together and her pudgy cheeks and eyeballs frozen in place. Lol

like I was saying when we 15 on May 20th I would love to meet one of those with Down Syndrome I would love to love them and play the guitar and sing them and make songs with them and go to the mall anything that you like that just want to make them happy lol love

I love my show born this way I what To be in one

This was probably the last time this show was honest. It was this honesty that made the show so good. But each new season the show became more propaganda, attempting to get the public to believe people with DS are capable of independence or just like normal people. It's a lovely idea, but there is a reason Shawn's mommy forces California to provide Shawn a 24/7 nanny and pay his rent and pay for his healthcare and living expenses. The show stopped showing the reality of having DS, and tried to use the magic of TV to imply they could achieve independence and live normal lives if they wanted. But it's just not true. That's why the final season took 2yrs to hobble together 6 episodes that was basically a wedding and Megan and Rachel staring at each other in a rented mansion the few hours their parents dared to leave them with just the show's crew. It was adorable b/c Rachel is adorable. I mean who didn't love how Rachel's hair looked the one time she did it herself? And who didn't love how adorable Rachel looked with her little backpack on as she left the house to walk down the driveway to meet the special bus that came to the house to take her to her pretend 2hr/day job. It's so cute that the bus has to come to the house because she'd totally get lost if she had to walk anywhere to meet it. And it was funny how Megan literally did nothing but sleep late and eat the prepared meals her mommy left her and talk to herself about how amazing she is while eating potato chips. It was funny - but they got about 10 minutes of footage from the entire time they "lived" there. It's because the show had become entirely fake. And there was no hilarious love triangle to get funny footage out of any more. I mean who can forget Shawn's love letter he made with crayons at daycare to win over Megan. And how HILARIOUS his face was when she rejected him! Hahahaha

Megan, please know that your friends could tend to feel like they are in your shadow. It is good to be out going like you are but please do not start to be self-centered and selfish. I can see your soul and who you would be if you were not ds and you are a beautiful person... you are anyway but I can see that too. The most important thing a person can do is remain humble and good. Just don’t lose that girl... My fav is still Rachel though. I love her. She don’t lie unless food and she is cute as a button! I am a Rachel fan but i love all of you but she is my fav.
