the issue is mostly fixed now for me but string crossings may throw the bow into jumping when vibrating, working on that. the right little finger is the key

Appreciate the older player encouragement. I’m a 65 year old noobie who feels like if I can’t eventually get vibrato then I might resort to old time or blue grass. I love it all but wonder too if I would ever be fast enough for that as well.😌

If you are concerned about speed, MsKatherineJo, I recommend Old Time fiddle over Bluegrass. For OT, people are less concerned about speed than for Bluegrass. As far as vibrato, dont worry as much about speed of vibrato as QUALITY and CONTROL. Just try to ge a few nice wiggles on your ling notes at first....and keep them nice and controlled. Gradually you'll be able to add wiggles on shorter notes without losing control.
