I cannot help but notice that the views for these videos go down as they progress... I wonder if some people just stopped caring. If you have made it this far keep going. These are here to help and if you have little to know knowledge about creating video games ,such as I, I can already say this is a huge leap in my knowlege of creating video games

+xXtheKAVEmanXx People usually get really motivated to make something and get tired of learning along the way so they lose the motivation once they see all the steps required.

+Imma Get 1 Million Subs K? i'm one of those ppl. i usually cherry pick these playlists for things i need but just end up confusing myself or i just lose motivation altogether as you mentioned above. this is the first tutorial "series" that i have resolved to watch from start to finish no matter what and i must say i am actually learning more than i have in along time. the game idea i have might just get made at this rate :)

Cause it's too slow. This series is 2 to 3 hours long but it could be trimmed down to 30 minutes tops. He keeps repeating the same things over and over again. "Ok so let's click on the option, I'm gonna go ahead and click on the option, I clicked on the option. Ok now that we've clicked on the option, let's go ahead and ...." It's killing me. I'm playing my phone while he talks, and some rare times I look at the screen to listen with attention. Most of the people don't want to waste time that's why they give-up. I hope the other tutorials will not be the same.

It's common. Most people look for a while while others look all the way. I skip some tutorials on parts i'm not dealing with yet like materials or sound. I just focus on learning camera and controls for now until I perfect it

This leaves me wondering, what is the big diffrences between blend-space/state machine, and montage. Is the "punch" really that diffrent - or is this because we do not have the start-end for punch? (dont have the files here where i am watching..)

Wasn't this originally done by a different guy, who drew the animation DJ during the video?

Question: so a player swinging a sword then going into sword combos is a example of a animation montage correct?
@grn15 жыл бұрын
10 months late but yes, that would be an animation montage.

Never heard of a break action shotgun with 8 rounds, but I guess that's not what this video is about. :P

Wait a sec, why use animation montage, while you can do the same with state machine like the jumping?? Which is better in what situation?
@garrettbillian63408 жыл бұрын
+Melroy van den Berg In a previous video in this series, he explains that a State machine is used for primary character states, such as; Running(which includes idle and walk), Jumping, Swimming and Flying. These are the ....is done while.... components, being the main anchor of the animation. Punching or something similar is a layer used on top or after a main State Machine as they can sometimes be done simultaneously. I know this reply is 3 weeks late, but hopefully that clears it up for you, based on my understanding.

Thx for explaining.

+Garrett Billian Nice explanation

so just for clarity, state machines are use for basic states, and whatever comes on top of those states are done in montages, bacause it is difficult to make a state in state machine for both running and punching at the same time

Great info, excluding the part about how shotguns are reloaded. This man knows nothing about shotguns lol.
