Thanks for your great video; i 've got this LCD SONY KDL46S4100 that i found on the streets and i'm trying save it from going to landfill, i need your expertise, the symptoms; powers up, has steady green led ,with back-lite on ,no pic or sound,already changed A board no change, i have all supply volts, I tested power board i have at CN 301 the 12 V, 6.5 V, and 3.3 V, CN 302 stand by 3.3v,also T-CON White fuse FP1 (3A) to the left of the LVDS connector CN1 i have the 12v. i tested the CN1 plug ,when i pull in and out one side and wiggle it i had noise/raster and for a second, it seems like some thing is short,hope it's not the LCD,what you guys think, and can you please advice,i hate to send this set to the land fill.

Nice video btw. A few hours ago, I came across an issue with my Sony Bravia KDL-32EX600. When I powered it on the display came up but couldn't find a signal from my HDMI devices that were plugged into the TV. Any suggestions?

+Josh Peterson HDMI cables can be funny as there are several versions of them. Are you using cheaply made cables? Also make sure that your video source is outputting a compatable signal for your TV. Check the top of this list under "Video Signal" www.sony.co.uk/support/en/content/cnt-specs/KDL-32EX600/list

Lol I just seen one of these across the street on the curb of course I took it I was fiddling around with it I finally got it to power on after I hit the top but only half of the screen powers on from my experience with these junky tvs I'm assuming the half screen problem is the tcon and the power on problem might be a loose connection on the inverter or power supply wish me luck!

Brad I have Sony Bravia KDL 40S4100 with sound but no picture. I have replaced the A board with no luck. How do I tell if the T-con board is bad? I checked with a flash light and as far as I can tell I have no image on the screen. I'm not entirely sure how to tell if I have back lights or not. Can you help me?

Well it is hard to say if the tcon is bad or not. I would start by placing the TV in a completely dark room and turning it on. the screen should be slightly illuminated even with a black picture. This will tell you if you have back lighting or not. Let me know how it goes. Cheers! Brad

Brad thanks for the response. I placed the TV in completely dark room and I have no back lights. According to what I've read on the internet no back lights means the power supply board is bad. From your experience do you agree with this conclusion? BTW, I checked all my voltages on the power supply board (15V 12V and 3.3v) and they all read good.

Hello, I had the same tv with the same problem. I got a new board and installed it. The tv turns on and lights up but it cycles through the primary colors, red, blue, green and a screen with four horizonal stripes, rgb and white. I think it needs some type of setup, any ideas?

Found out it was a defective board from ShopJimmy. I requested a return and they shipped the new one before they even got the defective one back. TV works fine now.
