Which army used the castle as a hospital in WWII?

The name of the hospital was “The Hospital of the Queens Heart” which is a very suitable name, considering, Queen Marie’s heart was interred in a rocky area near the castle, per her wishes. Bran Castle operated as a hospital from 1944, after the Red Cross hospital was bombed, and continued until 1948, when the Communist regime forced the closure, and forced the royal family to leave Romania.

The castle is located in Bran, Romania. The closest city is Brasov, which is a 25 minute drive away. You can buy tickets online, or at the entrance to the castle grounds!
