This is my American Parents' and my youngest sister's first trip outside the U.S. and to Romania. We took them on a trip to Bran to see Bran Castle, often referred to as Dracula's Castle, as Bram Stoker based his 1879 novel "Dracula" off of Vlad Țepeș (Vlad the Impaler), A Wallachian Prince from Transylvania.
Of the castle in which Dracula lives, Stoker gives this description in his novel “. . . on the very edge of a terrific precipice . . . with occasionally a deep rift where there is a chasm with silver threads where the rivers wind in deep gorges through the forests.” Because of this perfect description of Bran Castle, which you will see in our video, this castle has become know, world-wide, as Dracula's Castle.
We invite you to research Vlad Țepeș more on your own to learn what was true and what was simply legend. Either way, he is a fascinating historical figure in Romanian history.
Also, if you are interested in staying in the lovely home in which we stayed, you can reserve it on booking.com. It's listed in Bran, Romania, and it's called Pensiunea Padina. Please let them know you heard about them through our video.
(We don't make anything off of that mention, we just want them to know how much we enjoyed our stay there and how much we appreciate all of their help and kindness.)😊
We hope you enjoy our video. Like, Comment, Subscribe, and check back next week for our next video on Outside the Comforts. ❤️
