This was a wonderfully relaxing video. The way those people live their lives is really inspirational. We are trying to go in that direction. Although we may not go that extreme, taking the time to slow down and eat locally grown food is super important to us. I'm German, so it was great seeing those treats! My grandfather used to give each of his grandchildren a loaf of Stollen each Christmas. The girls that were not married got the best one - it had a stripe of marzipan running through it. So delicious! I've had many slices of stollen for breakfast with raspberry jam on top. He passed away several years ago, so now I find myself buying a loaf each year when I can just to carry on the tradition. A little off topic there, but a fun memory you reminded me of so thanks!

I know this is comment was long ago, but nevertheless I'd love to know why the tradition was that the unmarried girls got the best one!

Seeing Satoshi grinding the coffee beans at the beginning immediately made me think of the glamping video when he kept grinding the coffee beans for like 30 minutes 🤣. The food all looked so delicious. The veges were so fresh and colorful. Can't beat veges straight from the garden. Pita bread, yum! Candy shop, bakery, restaurants--This little town does have everything! There aren't many people there, so I hope the businesses are all doing alright. So glad you were able to have such a wonderful trip! 😃

What a gorgeous town, beautiful setting, and lovely, cordial people, and how very important is the preservation of a simpler, more harmonious way of life! Your videos make me yearn to live there. All the food looked wonderful. So fresh, colorful, and nutritious. Your lunch at Dou-Raku literally made me salivate. ツ I find it interesting and exciting that a Japanese town of 400 has a German bakery and a Chinese restaurant. I hope and pray that the town grows, in a good way, and once again flourishes. Thank you, Shinichi and Satoshi, for taking us along! ❤️❤️

You popped up in my viewing suggestions, such a lovely video, the Bakery, the Food "Although i don't eat meat/fish/eggs or dairy", i can devise ways around it & hopefully come up with food i can eat. I think Japan is one of the Jewels upon Earth, such a beautiful & Traditional country & i have enjoyed watching Lady Elders of Buddhist tradition & how they grow & create food too. Buddhaful little "World Heritage" Town, Thank You For You Both.
