Not a problem, Kim is not interested in giving his troops some combat experience, and he probably won't mind too much if they all perish, or stay in Russia, or whatever. The real problem - for the rest of the world - is what Kim is actually after, and is getting from Putin: a technology transfer. Most likely in the area of nuclear weaponry or delivery systems. Kim knows that he has Putin over a barrel, and can demand what Russia wouldn't dream of giving them before.

Military experience also not good. If some of the guys are lucky and return back they would have a military experience I doubt our sausage guy would be too happy to have around. I don't know what Kim Jong Un is thinking, probably more women at home for him, because any other equation doesn't look good in the long term.

As a US veteran that served with Korean soldiers they always outperformed my own troops. I wouldn’t underestimate Korean soldiers. They did most of the fighting in Vietnam on behalf of the US and never lost a war. That’s something they don’t teach us in school growing up

You are right. I have always been fascinated by the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939) and the parallels are there. In many ways, it was a dress rehearsal for WW II. The way Ukraine had an International Legion of foreign volunteers at the start of the invasion, large numbers of them were killed or badly wounded in the first two years. The few who remain have been dispersed to regular Ukrainian Army units as the Legion no longer exists as a functioning unit. The same thing happened with the International Brigades during the Spanish Civil War. The Russians now have “volunteers” from China, Cuba, Venezuela and now North Korea. They are all getting combat experience in the Ukraine and will return home with lessons learned. China and North Korea likely have few officers with actual combat experience and this will help prepare their militaries for upcoming conflicts with the U.S. The U.S. is only giving the Ukrainians enough to keep them from losing outright. Our support is limited and some policies are counterproductive. For example, the US is welcoming and resettling arriving Ukrainians, including able-bodied, military-aged men who the Ukrainian forces desperately need. While that is a great opportunity for the individuals, it is depriving Ukraine of perhaps 100,000 potential soldiers just as Russia is adding more foreign volunteers. This is what happened to the Republican Army during the Spanish Civil War. Their manpower pool started fleeing Spain in greater numbers just as the Nationalist Army received more German pilots and Italian ground troops. The Nationalists (Franco’s side) just ground down the Republicans (democratic Spanish government forces) until they were forced to surrender. The parallels are there for sure.
