Depends on how much weaponry the massive Ukraine City of kHarkiv in fact has as well as motivated personnel which in theory could be quite large for both and for Ukraine against Russia. Russians don't withdraw a 2nd time so I definitely don't see that happening but is possible a huge Battle is starting to unfold here as there has been apparently an Artillery War between City kHarkiv and much smaller City Belgorod going on for some time now here which for reasons unknown was massively expanded into a War between the two Oblasts. I still fail to understand the Russian approach going on forever now as no one is allowed for a massive call up of Russian reserves so instead they keep getting "sniped" until their entire military is no more near 900 Days continous now. Any how I think the technical term is "break in contact" so might try that one first...anything else would be a retreat actually.

They have the land for it. It's only fair. Ukraine needs to be protected from Russian aggression, not the other way around. NATO isn't a threat to Russia. It's a counter-threat. NATO will only get aggressive if Russia attacks. But Russia attacked Ukraine unprovoked.

They've had a lot of deserters and some surrenders, they brought up the chechens to shoot any retreats in their usual style but Ukraine hit their tiktok bases hard.

I remember CVR talking about the backshooters being a real problem with retreats when the meat waves started. I hope this means they have a better understanding where the weasels are so they can deal with them on every advance. I can't imagine what that feels like to get dumped into the battlefield with priviledged sons of rich kids pointing weapons at your back pushing you into enemy killzones.

@@bcluett1697 the blocking units are not rich kids. its some of the chechen units that have been sent to ukraine that are put in that role. in some regards some of the previous wagner or other pmc units that have been put in ukraine also used as blocking units.

Nope, not at all. Russia made this a war. It's still a war until they surrender. They can suspend hostile activities all they want and get shelled by Ukrainian artillery while sitting around doing nothing. All Russian troops are fair game, until the war is over.

Ukraine may well have to do so, they don't have manpower and there is no guarantee that Ukraine's foreign weapon stocks can hold. All they can do is refresh, replenish, then redirect. Chasiv Yar is still in trouble.

@@MrBeagleblue Ukraine does not belong to Russia. They had a referendum and every single district voted to be independent from Russia. Ukraine will probably take back their land by force eventually, but it would be easier, with less death and destruction for both sides if Russia simply withdrew.

This is a strategic defeat for Russia. Russia built up combat power for almost a full year to open up this attack vector. They barely moved across the border, took horrendous losses and Ukraine won the right to attack Russia on Russian territory. So significant was this change that Ukraine was able to obliterate force concentrations that were supposed to be used to invade Sumy. That attack vector never opened up because Ukraine obliterated the Russian men and equipment that Russia intended to use to do it. This is a humiliation for Putin specifically because this was his idea. And for the first time in a long time, Russia throwing tens of thousands of men relentlessly in one direction on the map failed to move the line. This is because Ukraine got ammo just in time to squash this move by the Russians.

@@tonyh6309 We know it was Putin's idea to expand the front. He's wanted to do it for a while now. So was Avdiivka and Bakhmut before that. Like Hitler, Putin is trying to exert top down control on his military. It's one of the reasons that the Russians are performing so poorly because their political leadership interferes in the affairs of the military. Sorovikhin was actually relieved of duty for doing something that works because it was the opposite of what Putin wanted from the military. "Don't dig in, just attack!"

@@jpa5038 Wow that does sound awfully similar... At least Hitler had the early experiences of Blitzkrieg working in Poland, France and the beginning of Barbarossa. Putin had NO such experience. The initial attack was a total disaster. So why keep doing it? If Sorovikhin did suggest digging in, he was right. Because Russia certainly is better at playing the "long game" than Ukraine. So all in all it seems to be total delusion with Putin.

This is quite explainable. The whole principle of anonymous information warfare is based around influencing people who are undecided yet about their worldview. This video, I guess, would barely attract any bots and diehard supporters, because semantics of the video name are different to their filters. Simply put, this information doesn't get to the audience it needs to get to, and the rest of information such as this is perfectly contained by a huge ecosystem of Telegram channels. On the contary, channels which try at least into neutral (neutrality is a myth) narrative in their reporting, age getting steamrolled by bots.

My understanding is that only a couple units were being pulled for rest and to be refitted because of the high attrition rate. I think what you are starting to see now is soldiers just leaving the line and quitting. I think its a pretty substantial number as well. This will spread as it did in WWI and the enlisted will start shooting senior NCOs and officers, as well as Chechen blocking forces.

report says russia was taking 1000 kia a day in kharkiv and vovchansk. russian bloggers complaining ukrainins have localized artillery superiority as well and drone superiority. they said ukrainian drones outnumber russian drones in kharkiv and vovchansk 6 to 1. there is no russian supply trucks able to supply russian troops inside ukraine at kharkiv border.

I think this offensive had the goal to keeping Ukrainian forces in place while the southern Russian Army groups attack in the Donbas. (Totally crazy that they would sacrifice so much for that. Imagine if the US did that!)

Some sources claim the Ruskis have suffered half a million casualties in two and a half years of war. Even if they suffered only half that in reality that is still more that 8000 casualties per month! That's insane.

@@SelfProclaimedEmperor If they are higher, then why mobilize the entire male population? According to Zelensky’s statement, the losses are 31,000, which means that at the moment the Ukrainian army is about 2,000,000 people, and the Russians are all killed, it turns out to be a victory.

I have a little theory about the US waiting so long to give permission to use on the Russian side of the border. Did they lul Russia into believing bringing a large portion of their military forward was safe by not giving permission for so long? It seems they waited until they could get the maximum benefit when they finally did allow it. Very "Art of War" if it was by design.

Russia has been diverting reserves and even other units from the eastern fronts to try to sustain this fiasco. It is well past time they cut their losses and re-focus on their primary objectives in the east before they start losing ground there as well. Ukraine has a significant numerical and logistical advantage fighting here which now has been proven over several major engagements in this region.

If Russia falls back to the ' independent ' oblasks,' and Ukraine follows,Putin can then say they are 'defending ' Donask and Luhansk,, which Putin considers to be part of Russia, he can then claim Russia has been attacked by Ukraine. Honestly, this whole 'special military operation' has me totally confused.!
