Closing nuclear fuel cycle has been a dream of the global nuclear community for many years. Recently, Rosatom launched the construction of its latest BREST-OD-300 fast reactor, which is a part of the 'Breakthrough' project aimed at creating an on-site closed fuel cycle rendering nuclear power essentially a renewable source of energy. This is a massive step forward for the global nuclear technologies as recognized by various esteemed speakers in this video.

This is something we Americans could also do.... but we are stupid and too well fed. So, I watch with interest and a little envy, at this new technology.
