Doris always answered my calls day or night when when my son was murderd back in April 1983 , i called her one time at about three o'clock in the a.m. because I thought I was losing my mind with grief , and she gave me such comfort , and told me she was "so happy" I called her ...she was my absolute angel during the worst time of my life , she never turned her back on anybody that lost a child to homicide , i hope to see her again in heaven someday. ....

My wife had the privilege to meet Doris Tate in her home after she "Along with actress Theresa saldana " who help start "victims of violent crimes " for families that a loved one had been murdered " she was such a inspirational .strong woman .she got to sit & cry and be held by her " she showed one of Sharon's dress to her with makeup still on the collar ..she was so comforting & kept in touch .for awhile. Just to say hang in there" she is missed. What a sweet woman who is now with her beloved Sharon & baby.love you Doris Tate!

Watson should be fed into a wood chipper feet first. He literally ran from victim to victim at both residences, stopping at each, where he’d stab, stab, stab, then run to the other and stab, stab, stab. Sick of his saying, “Well, Charlie sent me and the others, it was Charlie who,” blah-blah, blah - they could’ve all driven away that night and never returned, but no. I wish they’d put him in general population and let the inmates circle him with shivs, repeating Tex’s own words, “We are the devil, and we are here to do the devil’s business.”

ProudKansan08 Paul Tate was married to Doris until she died in 1992. He died in 2005. He didn't attend the parole hearings. When Doris died, their youngest daughter Patti took over, until she got sick. Then in 1997, Debra Tate, their second daughter, took over representing the Tate family at the parole hearings. Paul Tate was not in good health in his later years, and wanted to stay out of the spotlight.

You really have to admire Doris and her daughter Debra for their strength and perseverance in working year after year to ensure that the murderers of their daughter and sister remain in prison. I can't imagine how hard it must be for them to have to continue to deal with this. But to allow any of the Manson Family killers to ever be free and not have to pay the full penalty for their atrocious crimes is just unthinkable. There really is no punishment sufficient to atone for what they did, not even the death penalty, which all of them managed to avoid by pure luck. These people must never be free, regardless of any changes they may have undergone since. Not only did they take the lives of innocent people in an unspeakably barbaric fashion, but they also forever changed the lives of everyone who loved them. Life in prison is a relatively light sentence for them, and one that they must serve out completely. Anything less would be an abomination and a grave miscarriage of justice.

@dasman9562
@dasman9562 2 жыл бұрын
All you need to know about the death penalty is that it is state-sanctioned murder pure and simple. It is just as bad as Tex that night. If just ONE innocent person is put to death, the whole idea and apparatus crumbles to pieces. I hope it is repealed for the innocent people on death row. And there are plenty! The courts often get it wrong, the police can be utterly corrupt, and there is no way to bring them back to life. It has absolutely NOTHING to do with the cost of housing prisoners for years.

It seems as if a lot of prisoners---particularly if they're going to get a death sentence---become so-called "Born Again Christians." Susan Atkins, Karla Faye Tucker and Sean Sellers, to name a few. Sellers was only sixteen when put on death row. I am against the death penalty, so it really angered me that minors are sent there. What he did was reprehensible, but he was little more than a kid and that is just wrong.
