I find that if you decide to study anatomy, even if it´s just leaarning the skelleton first, and then just analyzing the origins and insertions of muscle groups, you can get a hell of a lot of milage and learning from Bridgman. If you attempt to understand him without any knowledge of anatomy it brings more pain than pleasure, and can lead to more misinterpretation of form than creative abstraction of form. I am currently practicing from Proko´s anatomy course on his website, for the past five months, and injecting Bridgman and Loomis´ Creative Illustration book is counter balancing it all perfectly. DO NOT burn out on one thing, because you will be missing out on SO MUCH that comes from CROSS TRAINING. That´s my advice as someone on the road.

Absolutely true, Its very hard to study Bridgman without knowing what he talks about. Definitely not begginer friendly.

In my case, I use Anatomy for sculptor & human anatomy for artist book to get an idea about anatomy. At the same time, I practice bridgman from Sargeant Marshall. Ngl, Sargeant Marshall's voice is very soothing & relaxing.

Never heard of that term before-"Cross Training"-but it's thanks to you I have just obtained a piece of the puzzle. Thank you. So many things have just been realized with that one word . . .
