The best spark test is to get your wife to hold on to the wire when you pull it. How hard she hits you shows how good the spark was. I used to fix a lot of small motors years ago. I got a few lawnmowers over the years like this. Thank you for the video, Drew

Awesome video! My 7 year old son literally found the same lawn mower in the woods the other day. Only difference is it has the safety bar start. My frame is shot but it is now a father son project. A shit ton of WD40 got the rusted throttle and other pieces to move again but it doesn't have spark. Your video helped me and look forward to getting back at it. The damn things are bullet proof. Leave them in the woods for 15 years and they still run.

Very nice fix Drew. Saved another one from the trash. It feels good to get something like that working again. I recently replaced the carburetor on my mower. I cleaned top the old one first but it would not run smooth. Put a new one on and worked perfect. I filmed it and may post the video, just not sure......Take care, Bluefin
