Жыл бұрынJoin us as we experience our first Filipino festival in the Philippines as a British couple. Today we are in Czar's home province of Kalibo, Aklan for Ati-Atihan 2023. The first one in 2 years! Today we show you our first impressions of Ati-Atihan & filipino festivals. We started at Kalibo's main plaza where we were hit by the enormous rumble of countless drumming. We were greeted with smiles, alcohol and face paint. We could feel the vibrations of of all there drums in our chest! Our first impression of Ati-Atihan and our first Filipino festival was its absolutely CRAZY. It was amazing to fully immerse ourselves in the culture of the Filipino festivals & Aklanons.

I just love to see people go into the parade awkwardly and then lose all their selves inside the hypnotic drums and lyres and just let lose. You won't know how it feels like until you become the festival itself!! Love it😊

Aklan ati atihan is very enjoyable to"sad sad"walk with dance with the beautiful custumes of each tribes the beat of lyres and drums you cant forget.. VIVA SR SANTO NIÑO!!! Try visit Iloilo as well for Dinagyang.. Cebu for Sinulog..

Sinulog parade takes place in the morning to the afternoon. The real street party is in the late afternoon until dawn. Check latest video from Mergim vlogs how the Sinulog Street party looks like.

Gawd Daymmmm Czar is Aklanon. My area is just the next town Numancia. Just went street dancing with the LGU's last Thursday, only day that did not rain. Hahaha

1. I totally agree with Zoe when she said the Philippines is the best.👍 Been living in the US for a very long time but never experienced such festive craziness. 2. I have this feeling that you are flying to Cebu for the Sinulog festival. Some of my friends are already there. 3. Snazzy costumes and body paints are amazing. Something really new to the eyes of foreigners. 4. Czar was pretty much bangin with the loud rhythm on the streets. Music was really inviting. 5. What a very fun and exciting street party from the egg right to the apples. Thank you for sharing this to us👍🥰🤗

Cebu's Sinulog and Iloilo's Dinagiang ain't got nothing on Kalibo's Ati-atihan.. They are just copies of Ati-atihan well bad copies actually.. If you go to Sinulog or Dinagiang you are merely a spectator there VS Ati-atihan everyone can freely participate..✌🏽❤

If you were there will feel the beat of celebration. Ati- atihan festival and Dinagyang are the Ilonggo's celebration of the feast of Sto. Nino. Glad to see this British - Filipino vloggers. He never forgot his roots. He's a darker version of a Japanese guy.

Ati-Atihan Festival is the original one before Dinagyang and Sinulog became famous in the Philippines. These other festivals such as Maskara, Pinagbenga and others are just new compared to Ati-Atihanm.

but Ati-atihan celebrates Santo Nino, and the giving of Santo Nino was given by the Spanish to a Cebuano Raja Humabon which all take place in Cebu so still Cebu is the original. Without Santo Nino, without the cradle of Christianity which is Cebu, there's no Ati-atihan, you have nother to celebrate about. lol.

@@fkoff7649 , thats true. Cebu is the cradle of Catholicism in the Philippines. But lets talk about the celebration and the festival. Ati-Atihan is the original one. It became famous in the 1970's. Then came Dinagyang in the 80's, then Sinulog in the late 90's or early 2000's. But Sinulog became more famous because of being much populated and the enthusiasm of the Cebuanos in Central Visayan region.

this was the day my brothers and I watched, with so many people watching I got lost and I couldn't find my brothers, I went to the police near Aklan cable then I asked for help. I only found out when it was past twelve that they had returned home at 9 am. WTF I still don't have money for that and our town is still far away. That's why I'm afraid to watch what's to come but I'm excited to watch next years

Madagascar festival,Filipino version!do they celebrate the sinulog the same time as the ati-atihan?all I know is that they are both happening at the month of January.

Yes which is why we couldn’t see the final day of atiatihan, Shame they’re all on at same time although atiatihan is a week long compared to a day in Cebu 😊

because they are all dedicated to the Feast of the Child Jesus. 1. SINULOG FESTIVAL- Cebu ---------in remembrance of arrival of Christianity and presentation of the image of Sto.Nino to the the pagan queen of Cebu. 2. DINAGYANG FESTIVAL- Iloilo ---------to commemorate the Pact between Ati Tribes and Malay Datu(s), and the introduction of the image of Sto.Nino from Aklan. 3. ATI-ATIHAN- Aklan ---------The name Ati-Atihan means "to imitate the Ati people" (original inhabitants of Aklan/Panay) they look like Black Africans but smaller in stature. The Ati tribes were converted to Catholicism via the Augustinians friars of the Sto.Nino. 4. BULING-BULING- Manila ----------It's a diffrent image/icon. It's more related to Sto.Nino de la Pasion.
