In this video I install the EIbach Pro Truck Lift kit on my 2014 GMC Sierra. The kit includes front struts, springs, and rear shocks. This competes with the Bilstein 5100 kit but excels because Eibach provides a new extended spring to increase lift and performance. The kit is 100% bolt on!
The process of installing these struts and shocks is the same regardless of the manufacturer.
Link to Eibach's site to find the kit for your application (E80-23-006-02-22): eibach.com/us/...
Link to Rough Country's sites to find the blocks for your application:
www.roughcount...
Overall very happy with how easy the struts and shocks were to install. On the road the truck behaves much better. For the price, you can't beat the kit.

Good job on this.Appreciated this video. Saved me a bit going in knowing what to expect ahead of time. The instructions or lack there of left a lot to assume or figure out. Fyi anyone doing this kit. You do not need to take that bump stop plate off old strut. The piece you have to pop off to get perch off. Do the upper control arms if stamped steel. Either aftermarket or factory aluminum.Typing this while at alignment shop. I will say test drive and drive to shop so far more planted and we’ll tuned to road. Definitely not too stiff staying on the bottom setting.

Factory shocks are no rebound shocks. They are basically oil filled tubes to control the spring. It wasn’t blown. Still worth the upgrade though. I want to replace my rancho’s with this setup.

The website says 1”-3” or lift. So which setting do you have to be on for 2.5” you said the bottom one in the video but it doesn’t match what Eibach is saying
@WaterFowler41
@WaterFowler41 5 жыл бұрын
The instructions are not clear. If you are using the Eibach provided spring (which is longer that stock) the bottom setting will result in 2.5" of lift up front. Lift increase as you go to the higher settings (move the ring up the strut body). If you are NOT using the Eibach springs and reusing your stock springs, the lowest setting I believe retains the stock height. I also believe in this application you can max out at 3" of lift while keeping the OEM springs. All in all, the Eibach spring is longer and it in and of itself provides some lift. Like I said the instructions are confusing and took some monkeying around to figure out exactly what setting I needed. Best to call Eibach and ask them.

its not necessarily better than the bilsteins, bilsteins were originally meant to be used with stock coils with adjustable notches. eibachs are similar. but bilsteins are not in the business of making coils, they do shocks. Eibachs does both. I believe the bilstein coils are even made by eibach. Eibach also makes toytec and wheeler's coil springs. they supply the market. bilstein 5100's do sell more though. Eibachs are good as well.

This was a very informative video. Thanks for this. 😎 It's a shame you know longer have the truck, though. I would have liked to have heard a longterm review. I came across this video while looking for reviews on the bilstein 6112 and leveled Sierras. I'm honestly uncertain now of what to get...6112 or this kit you had. I want to level my new-to-me truck. I had the bilstein 5100 on my previous Sierra, one notch down from the max setting. It still had a rake, but not doing a nosedive like before. For this new Sierra I want it level. Will 1.875 not accomplish that goal? I do not plan to replace the stock block, only replace the shocks ranchos with 5100s. As for tire size, I'd like to fit 275/65/20. I'm not sure if 1.875 will be enough even after using zipties to pull the liner back. If anyone answers, thank you!
@WaterFowler41
@WaterFowler41 3 жыл бұрын
at 1.8" you will not be level which is the biggest and only complaint with the bils systems. Seems 2-2.25" is the best to level these GM trucks which Eibach will be able to net you. As far as bils versus Eibach, the 6112's are 2.5" wide shock bodies so if you are seriously off-roading that would be the way to go since you will avoid oil fatigue. I was very happy with my eibachs having only "really" beat on them a few times. they performed well. I had to replace one of my eibach struts under warranty (internal valving failed) but other than that, the eibachs performed well and I had no complaints.

@@WaterFowler41 I ordered this kit. EIB-E80-23-006-02-22 I've tried the hockey puck spacer lift and hated it. Tried bilstein 5100s and was satisfied with the ride, but it was still noticeably lower in the front. And now I'll give these guys a try. According to the eibach website, this kit is meant for 2wd. You installed it though, and according to realtruck.com it fits my 2015 Sierra 4x4. Any thoughts?
@snooka2484
@snooka2484 3 жыл бұрын
Actually the more I look onto it it doesn't make sense. All other websites say the same thing, that it fits and works on my truck. Maybe eibach says no because of the UCAs are angled too much and they have no inhouse fix? Should I order some UCAs, and if so which ones would you recommend?

My ride at 2.5" is great and completely practical for a daily driver. At 3" or more you're likely to feel the bumps more. Also, you may want to upgrade your upper control arms, your running out of suspension angle running anything over 3" of lift on stock UCA's

Great video! Looking seriously at this kit for my build but undecided on rear blocks...stock, 1.5", or 2" as you did. Do you have an Instagram (or other social media) to see more pictures at different angles of your truck?

Hey bud, sorry to bother you, I know you no longer have the truck; I just wanted to ask a another question. Would installing both the factory and new Rough County 2” blocks be a bad thing for the truck/shock?
@WaterFowler41

I would buy a 3” block from RC. Stacking blocks is a bad idea. A 3” block isn’t that much more than the 2”

I know this video was posted a while ago, but how are these doing for you over a year later? Also, since the spring allows for some lift do you think these are a better option to lift the front 2.5" than putting Bilstein 5100 at max height (2.5") with stock springs?
@WaterFowler41

Jacob Krueger in my opinion if you are lifting beyond the 1.8” bilsteins can do then yes this is a great option. I had these on my truck up until I traded it in. Hoping there’s a Eibach kit for my Rebel because i was a huge fan of this kit.

One last question did the coil compressor fit on the eibach spring too and did you rent it?
@WaterFowler41
@WaterFowler41 5 жыл бұрын
I rented a spring compressor from oreilly's. You have to mount the compressors in the highest position because you need to compress the spring about 1.5". I used a pneumatic driver to the compressor shafts. If you've never dealt with spring compressors I wouldn't advise as it can get kind of hairy. The compressor were bending near the end.
