I have the Maxis & love it. My wife's SX3 has the same speed load feature. It's another nice gun.
@davidbilbrough372625 күн бұрын
The A5 also has this feature that can blow a hole in your roof or truck. Did this one day at the farm and it went off-pointing a safe way!!!
@jeffreylocke88086 жыл бұрын
The Browning A-5 also has speed unload from the magazine. I am happy I bought mine.
@barrylann7 жыл бұрын
Love my 3.5" maxus stalker. The speed load feature is awesome and why I have Brownings instead of Berettas. The mag cut off is helpful if I need to throw in a 3.5 shell on a longer pass shot or take out a swimmer that's getting away!
@ready4pullback8 жыл бұрын
I have an Auto 5 from the 40's that has that exact features. Speed load is a handy feature, but it's nice to have the button option too, especially if you're wearing gloves. I will actually use the magazine cutoff if I need to temporarily make my gun safe with an open chamber and locked carrier, such as crossing a fence when pheasant hunting, or on a 5 stand field if there is a problem with one of the throwers and someone needs to run out to fix it. Kinda like the autoloader version of breaking open a double gun, and leaving the shells in place. I also have a Maxus, and it is a wonderful shotgun. I bought one of the plain models in 2011, have put several thousand target loads, and 3-4 cases of 3in duck loads through it with no complaints. I clean it as needed depending on use, which may range from a full strip down once or twice a year, to a field strip and cleaning of the gas system, barrel, breach, and carrier every 300rds or so. Coating on the gun is phenomenal, one of the most corrosion resistant guns I've ever owned.

Auto 5 didn't have speed load until the 60's. Yours is newer or it has been modified.

Best feature of the gun! 2nd best is the mag-lock (which you noted your model doesn't have that switch)... it's more than just about switching shell types. It's an extra safety feature.. no shell can accidentally chamber when you are at rest and not wanting to shot. Not required.. but just an extra safe thing. Scheels is South Dakota sales folks all know both features and demonstrate them them each buyer. .. I don't work there, btw.

I have a Browning Gold 10 that does same speed loading just like the old Auto-5 which is the Daddy Rabbit of all auto loaders. Great video. I like your shotgun. Let's all keep the brass hitting the ground no matter what we hunt.

The Sporting Maxus has no magazine cutoff switch but the Hunter models as well as the Sporting Maxus has the speed loader feature.

Didn’t know….now I do. Another good video would be on emptying the Magazine Tube without cycling the shells thru the receiver. Thanks….Rusty

Here in Iceland we use mostly 2 3/4 -3" #4 for goose so you can take a goose with duck shells as long as you keep the distance under 60 yards!

Bought my Maxxus Hunter about 5 years ago and it has it. First time I did it I was not expecting it.
@JimmyDickens1 Жыл бұрын
While in your house, you should use snap cap dummy rounds to demonstrate this feature. Not live rounds. Also, I use the magazine cut off lever to empty the chamber, safing the gun with out necessarily emptying the chamber. This is convenient when South Dakota pheasant hunting, moving from one field to the next.

It may have not been shown or mentioned in the video but this particular model of the Maxus does not have a mag cutoff switch since it’s the sporting model… but thanks for your input.

My fathers Browning B2000 from 1974 has this same loading feature but from the side, not the bottom.
@ilircamaj35077 жыл бұрын
The main features on a Maxus are the speed load and speed unload, which is why I bought one
@DJB-4277 жыл бұрын
Ilir Camaj Absolutely I agree, which is why it blew my mind that there were still some people out there that I talked to that had no idea their maxus had the feature...the video is definitely not meant for those of us who do know, but for those few that somehow didn't.

@patrickoneill4113 жыл бұрын
Browning never intended his inventions to be called " Semi-automatic" they have always been referenced as Autoloaders which have always been on all of his bottom loading, bottom ejector guns.

My dad's old A5 does this. It's not new it's Browning's signature. Every Browning I've used does it.
@NiNjA636Ty4 жыл бұрын
Yep my grandpa’s old a5 has that nice sweet feature and the cutoff and now the newer a5 has it down by the trigger guard drives me nuts
@Aznjordan16 жыл бұрын
I used to debate between that maxus n the A5. Because both shotguns have the autoloading feature. But I went with the A5 because of the forearm stock. The A5 have the cap that holds the forearm stock in place n better. I love my A5 Composite Stalker because it can shoot all three sizes of shotshells.

Jamie Jones Oh yes absolutely, my Belgian Sweet 16 also does it. The video is meant really for those buying their first true sporting shotgun that may have not realized/weren’t told it had this feature... I decided to do the video after hunting with someone who also had a Maxus and I used the autoload, and the guy literally had no idea lol so yea.
@Gatesidefarm7 жыл бұрын

Thanks for telling me about the feature my maxus I'm a Christian Best way I can thank you is explain some very good news to you. The three pieces of scripture from the KJV Bible sum up God's plan for our salvation. If you'd like to avoid spending eternity in flames when you die, I encourage you to read these verses and place all your trust in Jesus's blood atonement He completed on the cross for all sinners, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Ephesians 2:8,9 Romans 3:21-26 God bless you Sir

Dude, I'm always shufflin shells when big gay gooses and cranes are slidin skiedways. I shoot ducks over decoys with 2 3/4" #4's. Cranes n gooses with 3" BBB at ranges that would make your jaw drop son. Just like all the SLA boys that come up. This is TXPH and I got the prescriptions for DEATH in the Troposphere. Sky Blastin, Prairie Gangster, Tumbleweed Commando. You can't be a bumble fu*k and swap out shells quick.

You having any problems with coating on the stock and forearm getting sticky from being in the rain?
@DJB-4277 жыл бұрын
Craig V. Man ...funny you should ask...it literally just started to peel last weekend...I primarily use it to duck hunt down here in south Louisiana. Perfect duck hunting days consist of windy 30-40 degrees and drizzling. I noticed after my last hunt that some of the coating was beginning to peel off where my right hand grips and where my left hand grips the handguard. This shotgun is over 4 years old now and has a lot of shells through it. I think I'll go ahead and have someone peel off the coating and do a full duracoat job on it now.
@CraigV5047 жыл бұрын
same thing i was thinking with the duracoat, mine gets wet and turns white then dries back to normal color. Love the gun besides that problem.
@cfalkun247 жыл бұрын
I know I'm 4 months late but before you pay someone to Duracoat it, check out Browning's prices on replacement parts. I have the exact same gun and only the stock is peeling. A new one is only $100! www.browning.com/content/dam/browning/support/parts-service/gun-parts-price-list/parts/2013/12-arn-432-maxus.pdf
@DJB-4277 жыл бұрын
Is it only the stock that's peeling on yours? My handguard is peeling a little also. Last time I was hunting we had a good rain and I ended up peeling off the entire coating while it was still wet and loose. Still haven't duracoated it or anything yet though.
@cfalkun247 жыл бұрын
Derek Burgess mine is only the stock. started where my cheek rests, then spread all the way around. I'm thinking about buying the stock and forearm for when I'm clay shooting tournaments and putting the old furniture back on for duck season.

I think the auto 5 and a5 feature
@koltdoss83527 жыл бұрын
do you know if that's true on the new models?
@DJB-4277 жыл бұрын
Kolt Doss I believe so yes sir...apparently this feature has been around for a while long before the Maxus came along. For some strange reason, there were still some people out there that weren't aware of it. I only wanted to raise awareness to this really awesome feature if there were still some out there that honestly didn't know about it.
@koltdoss83527 жыл бұрын
On the ones with the flipper on the other side you have to flip it back and forth for it to do the autoload like that
@DJB-4277 жыл бұрын
Kolt Doss Ahhh ok see my shotgun is the 3" skeet model so it doesnt have the mag bypass switch. After my third shot when the bolt locks open automatically, I can throw the first shell straight into the mag and it automatically loads into the chamber.
@DJB-4277 жыл бұрын
Kolt Doss Hey I just made a hunt with my buddy who has a Maxus in the mossy oak duck blind finish this weekend. His has the mag selector switch and it still operates the same as mine. Unless you actually flip the switch to bypass the magazine then it won't.

Tstreet Yep as I mentioned in the video, this is for those that somehow never discovered it for themselves or simply had no idea it was capable of doing it. I had a Gold Hunter before the Maxus and I loved that shotgun. Killed many ducks with it.

Well when I see a goose I switch from 3s to bb
@DJB-4277 жыл бұрын
Yea bro you do what you gotta do. Me personally, I bring two shotguns. One I have duck loads and one I have goose loads. It's a lot easier to just lay one down and pick up the other than the alternative. I have killed geese with 3 shot before though when they're dragging the ground.
@lukenephew38877 жыл бұрын
Derek Burgess yeah I guess usually we hear geese that are low and are kinda far away so we have time to put in different shells

This feature has been on the a5 browning since early 1900's This ain't nothing new man You need to do a little research before u make videos and post them . You are right you did not do your homework. Lol
