Reminds me of hitchhiking, from Hannibal, Missouri to Sedelia, Missouri heading to The Ozark Music Festival/July 1974, dude with long hair that looked like Ted Nugent picked me up in a 1957 Plymouth, we're talking about push button automatic transmission on the dash, with a rear view mirror on the dash ! This cats girlfriend in tow, had to stop at every Drug Store in each little one horse town that we drove thru in Southern Missouri (why I don't know). By then the half tab of acid I took started to kick in & I started to get the giggles. Mind you, one small town that we stopped in a babyfaced hillybilly dude w/bib overalls was sitting on the hood of an old Dodge chatting with two young chicks. Once he took his large frame off the hood of that Dodge and stuck his face in our window to talk SPRINGSTEENS POETRY CLICKED INTO ACTION !

Great choice. One of Springsteen's most epic songs. Yup, the drummer is Max Weinberg, who was the band leader for Conan. He holds the sticks using a traditional grip - the way jazz drummers do. Most rock drummers use what's called a matching grip. The guitar player is Steve van Zandt. You may know him from the Sopranos or for helping to organize Artists Against Apartheid in the 1980s.

I was born and raised a as a South-Alabamian Republican. I was also named after this great singer/songwriter/entertainer. Listening to his music and live concerts throughout life have played a huge role in developing my now moderate political views. One of his quotes has hit home with me for many years - "Blind faith in your leaders, or anything else, will get you killed." Springsteen is also one of my biggest inspirations in music and songwriting, but Clarence is and always will be my hero!

Yes, Max Weinberg was the drummer for Conan O'Brien's band when the group broke up in the nineties and then pulled double duty when the band reformed. He eventually left Conan to rejoin E Street full time. The guitar player is Steven Van Zandt, he was a main actor on The Sopranos. Also, watch "Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out" from this show. It's so good and so much fun.

@drifterman319
@drifterman319 2 жыл бұрын
Because without Republican fans he'd be worth half as much. Oh , I'm too stupid to pick a political candidate to listen to but I'm a genius if I listen to Springsteen? CSN&Y played a venue many years ago, during Bush 2 years. They specifically wrote a song bashing Bush and played it, half or so of the crowd booing, jeering and some standing and giving the single finger salute. Pathetic. Not very civil. It's not very "ambassadorial" is it? Not very "tolerant". Why is it that Lefty entertainers sqwak and sound off all the time while we hardly even know who the ones are that are on the Right? A little case of insecurity I guess? These Liberal rock stars need to remind themselves that when they were protesting the Vietnam War, it was a Democratic administration they were protesting, the one's that started the war . An 'R' got us out. I'm out. Politics is dirty business and doesn't belong on a stage.

It is a good description, indeed , but it came from the years they were playing bars and small venues. The bar manager who pay him and Bruce, being the band leader, divvied the money up to the members. Little Steven started calling him "the Boss" for that reason. Bruce has never liked the nickname but says, "Well, what can you do. It has stuck".
