Yes, they definitely record practices and then watch on the monitor to see what needs work. J-Hope (camo hat) really owns this choreo and always has. It's right in his sweet spot of how he dances. Not to say the rest don't do well - they definitely do. There are just certain songs where one will shine because it just suits them. Or even one happens to grab your attention in a dance practice. Sometimes they are just feeling themselves that day and it really shows in the rehearsal. I'm glad you got to watch a dance practice since you enjoy dance so much! Getting to see dance practice videos is one of my favorite things about K-Pop. I love dance and in the practice videos you can really see the full choreo with all of the intricacies. I can write paragraphs about the dance line (J-Hope, Jimin, JK, and V) and their various styles, but I'll stop here. Glad you're enjoying your journey down the rabbit hole!

Ah this choreo. You might have noticed that when it was time for the dance break with the big crowd they all came to life more -- it's because the base choreo is something they'd done hundreds of times so they were just going through the motions to an extent before the new stuff kicked in to really nail. Regardless, love that routine. Some REALLY good dance practices are: - Fire - Idol - Blood, Sweat, and Tears - Run BTS (not to be confused with "Run" by BTS -- which is also a good song :)

Yes, this is for a performance which is why they have the bibs on showing their names, as this gets sent in advance so they can coordinate camera coverage at venue for broadcast. They are also singing this in the Japanese version of the song

I think they're singing the original Korean version in this - "Mianhae, Billboard, mianhae, worldwide" vs. the Japanese "Gomen ne Billboard, Gomen ne worldwide"

Mic Drop made me an Army :-) It was 2019. Little did I know where I would be 5 years later. The guy you pointed at in the middle of their formation with intense face expressions was J-Hope ( Jung Hoseok is his real name ). He is one of the rappers but also a main dancer and their dance leader. He is our hope and the brightest sunshine Hobi.
