What BTS video should I watch next?

jimin and hobi are underrated great friends, people don't really talk about them as much but they are super close

I'm a first grade teacher and I show bts videos to my class. I told them how rm and Jin kind of feel bad that they're not good dancers. One kid said, "Compared to who? They dance WAY better than most people!"

V admiring the older members is so true. In the book, he talked about how he saw them as celebrities almost, and couldnt believe he got to debut in the same group as them

they stopped talking poorly about jin's dancing on later years, which i think we all appreciate, nowadays they are jin's biggest hype men, especially taehyung

I watched this festa video a few days ago and was once again reminded of how much they grew as a group and as individuals. They grew up to be such talented, kind and admirable people. I always look forward to watching your bts reaction videos, sending love from south africa.

-Suga is my fave too. 😊 -They are celebrating 1 year after their debut, but they had lived together for almost 3 yrs at this point thus they know each other so well. -Jin is really handsome for real. Not just as a joke. He is like the Asian handsome standard.

JK's mindset fascinates me. I would honestly love to see your reaction to JK's livestream from last week, where he was in the hotel in London and talked about his relationship with the fans. I think you'd find his talk very interesting. JK was extremely candid and you could tell he had been holding a lot of it in for a while.

I think the lightness you noticed really shows the weight of their success. Although they wanted in these early days to be the best they've always said they've reached higher than they ever imagined. I think youre exactly right when you say Suga has come full circle and returned to his fun loving, light self as theyre finally coming to terms wih their success and how to carry that weight while still being themseles. 💜😊

Now that Jin is a Corporal and noted "Warrior" in the military... he going to be even more of a rascal. WWHW - Worldwide Handsome Warrior. He's just begging JK to outdo him in the military. I can't wait until they get together again to hear all that bashing!

In their book, "Beyond the Story", it talks about how the 4 vocal members really looked up to the 3 rappers, who were the first confirmed to debut; to the point that the 4 were surprised that they got to debut with them. They were definitely seen as the leaders. Read the book!!! It's awesome!! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

JHope always tried to fit in back then. He was loud in the beginning years. I have seen many videos where the guys get frustrated with him. He loves physical interactions. I love JHope. He felt so rejected by army for many years. I will never forget his face when the other guys continued to get fan mail, and none for him. The pain on his face when he would go on live, and no one would be there. On top of that, a petition was started to have him kicked out of BTS! Saying he was ugly and untalented. When I heard these things I cried. I think he is a beautiful man. He has a unique personality. He definitely carries stage presence! I wonder if that was why he felt he had to stand out when the guys got together. He has grown up, but still has his goofy side. I hope that never changes. On JK, he was a bit of a fire cracker. He said he was very selfish back then. He still likes picking at his brothers 😅 A new video came out recently. JK watched on live, a video made by army. Showing the guys over the years. They sang a beautiful song for BTS. JK cried. I cried. #1 artist in the world right now, yet he still wants to spend time with army. It broke him in a good way. He wears his heart on his sleeve, that's for sure. I love these guys! They have brought much healing and joy in my life. ❤

it always makes me overly emotional to see bts how they used to be before the big success. there was a lightness in them that we might never see it again. such is life, maturing also plays a big part, the fan I was in 2014 no longer exists as well. I guess for newer fans these videos are fun and light-hearted but to me it always hits me with nostalgic and bittersweet feelings, the passage of time is very real and quite scary sometimes. I'm very glad to have grown up with bts though it's a whole different experience i'm extremely lucky to have.

I love how much you love Yoongi haha, it's really cute! He's my bias too so i get it! I think it's so ridiculous when people say Jin and Joon are bad dancers. Compared to people who are trained from a young age? Ofc there will be a difference in skill. But they dance better than most people in kpop!! Jin moves his body so easily, and Joon has a grace you would never expect. I get really irritated when people call them bad dancers. Gosh I can't believe these adorable boys celebrated their 10 years, they were so young and went through way too much for just wanting to do what they loved. have you noticed when Yoongi really laughs, he does it with his shoulders? & yes JK could be quite the brat back then! being the youngest, he got away with (& the guys put up with) a lot but he has grown into such an incredible person over the years. V & Jimin used to be very mischievous too but the hyungs set a great example. i know they cringe when they watch these old videos but i love to see how far they've come!

21:11 yeah Tae changed A LOT 😢 he was soooo innocent, open, outgoing and genuine... He still is, but as he was growing up he obviously got more mature and wiser, but he also got much more reserved and more self aware (as we often see him getting on his own thoughts) and I think it has something to do with his relationships outside of BTS. It's hard for an artist to be so open and genuine cause people often take advantage of that. We can also feel that through his solo music.

I always look forward to your videos. There is a certain depth to your observation about these boys which not many people have. All your insights about Namjun and Yoongi is bang on. A word you used often to describe their relationship in this video was "respect". Thats one thing they have loudly professed about each other over the years. Not so ironically, they also have a song called Respect.....just these two expressing what they truly think about this word in today's time. I feel it would be great if you can dig deeper into Namgi dynamics (if given a chance ofc). The have been such important pillars in building the Bangtan foundation. Also, your analysis of Jin is perfect. Over the years (especially in chapter 2), his role in keeping the team together with the help of his personality, his human emotional awareness & his choices about when to go soft/hard in relationships to build the team has really shone. I can see why Hobi has always said that he brings us all together as the eldest of the group. Great video. Thank you for your efforts :)

Recently on Suga's show he had Jin on his show and mentioned that if he had to live with one person it would be Jin.

At time of their career they were all sharing roles especially when they had their meetings like this series. But also, by Korean culture Jin and Suga as oldest had first and or last words as culturally they are leaders in additional to RM. Max, have you read their book yet? There's so much insight to what they're actually thinking and feeling in the past. I think it will help you understand them and their bond more. Like you commented how the younger ones seem to respect and defer to the older ones. In the book, you'll see that this respect started from the very beginning as the rapline were already creating music in the studio when the vocal line joined as trainees. You can feel how the maknae line started fanboying their rapper hyungs. You'll also get stories of their bonding moments during pre-debut days, when they were just starting to get to know each other. You'll get a great quote from Yoongi about how he changed from questioning the differences among them to accepting them.

You'll get much better subs if you react to the video on bangtan subs. They always are the best place to go when it comes to translations for older bts videos like this one (and bts videos in general) and they're definitely a lot more accurate so if you react to the next festa video I think it'll be a good idea to look for the subs there (which I really hope you eventually get to all of the festas because its so cool seeing how they change over the years😆) edit: also good point believe it or not when I first got into them for some reason I thought yoongi was the leader for the longest time until I actually properly got into them and watched the guide lol. He just seemed to have that kind of aura when I saw him I guess. Calm and expressive but serious and to the point🤔

Watching sure brings back memories of my early years with BTS, grateful for these videos, appreciating where they were and where they are today. JK was such a baby, today he is so manly. V and Jimin, we’re also only in HS, I think they were like HS Seniors at this time (2014). Suga could take on the leader role very easily. RM the leader of the group, but still a kid, it was during these early yrs that everyone found RM to be very smart but clumsy, it’s still very relavent but because of his maturity and intellectual growth. A clumsy mistake is so hilarious. Jhope at these early days Festa’s and group telecast, was always one who would tease very openly on each member. He was always very observant, might be the dance teacher in him. Once I think it was in 2017, a comment was made that Jin was rude to the younger members, but that was just his way, and people still didn’t understand the personalities of each member, but as we know, they too, look back to their early yrs and appreciate each other as they have grown to respect and love each other more. 💜 💜 💜

It would be fun to see a video of Hobi’s various expressions. Everything from sipping an alcoholic drink, to when he thought the MC was going to kiss him on New Year’s Eve. 😂

13:41 they are aware of their strengths and ranks They are hard working and dedicated to keep up with everyone J-Hope always said he didn’t need to be extra because they were up to the task. I don’t think the goal was to be the best. I think it was to show the value of BTS their worth and it took time, training and dedication. Their strength added to the talent and a big spoonful of brightness is cheerful glee.

i think the tannies have no ego around eo, they know eo strengths and weaknesses, there is acceptance of what they really are and what they could do. there is competitiveness but mostly it is against themselves- to be better than they were before, to achieve more, learn more than the old themselves. and i love that. so many bands and groups have broken up because of the slightest "insults" to their egos..

It's 1 year after debut but they had lived together for longer do it's not just one year for them.

I can never not love them. They were adorable as kids, they are admirable now. I am forever Army, they have my unconditional support.

I don't know if you have already read it, but I would like to advise you to read their official book for their 10 years. They talk a lot about themselves in it, about their relationships and their evolution during each event. The contextualizations and their comments on them are great!

RM really respects Yoongi more now...After he had shoulder surgery they were doing a photo shoot..(one shot of just the two of them)...Yoongi still in a sling....He had to go across some big rocks.....RM shouted at him to be careful...And turned to the camera and said "This is an Honor to my family...I will keep this photo forever"....And they all call him "Bangtan's pride" for his hard work and living with the pain all this time💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

At that time they all lived together in a tiny dorm, they didn't need to get together. I think they were relieved that they had lasted a year since debut without being disbanded. Suga is excellent at taking charge, Hobi is a showoff.

That was why I became an ARMY 5 months ago. I know them since they were debut cuz they have a co.op song with our country's composer (Danger - Thanh Bui) but I was not really like or care about Kpop. I know that all of them in the industry were friend just because they have to. Kinda like a business relationship but I did have a feeling that BTS's relationship is not fake. They kinda like true friends, a real family and that was why I am an ARMY now. I don't think that people who are not Asian could understand that cuz girls or guys in Asia are kinda like more feeling and we don't scare pff showing it out (except those introverts like Suga or me).

Yoongi biased too. I heart SUGA.

We are all ARMY. Let's be kind to each other and let others speak, without getting offended. OT7, united ARMY is what our boys want so let's give it to them. They are beautiful kind and grown up to be strong and courageous, confident men. 💜

I’ve always felt Jin was just along for the ride but in a good way. He loves being in BTS and loves ARMY but I think he sometimes seems to be looking at how things are going in his life and he finds it all vastly amusing.

Jimin and Hobi were roommates for years and they’re still extremely close! They are the 2 members who spend/have spent the most time together when they were in their ‘down time’ over the 10 years and since hiatus. They have such a special bond! The funny thing is, though, Jimin has a really special bond with all of the boys…I think even outside of BTS, Jimin is like a magnet to people/Idols - he is THAT kind of soul.

So the ranking was a bit cringe for me, to be honest. Jimin has some major insecurities. Even to this day he talks about not being good enough whether that be singing or weight. Maybe I'm mistaken but Jimin was teased in ways that other members were never. I'm not saying anyone was a bully or that there was malicious intent or anything but I think as they grew up, they realized how insecure Jimin had become and tried to be better about praising him and Yoongi will always tease him (because that is their dynamic) but I don't see it in the same way anymore. The reality is, Jimin is very loved but probably the most hated (for absolutely no reason). When you have that many people telling you how ugly or fat you are, you start to believe them, even if it's said jokingly by your older bros. He tries to laugh it off but it's a little sad and painful to watch if you know what he's been through. With all that being said, it's nice to see the growth and maturity over the years and we also all have to remember that they were only between 16-21 here.

On 6/13/14, JK would have been 16, turning 17 in a few months.💜

TXT's documentary Our Lost Summer has been released on Disney+. I remember you said on a live that you where thinking about watching it and I can highly recommend it! Not only as a big fan of theirs but I think it has a lot of things in it that you would like to dissect and since it's more of the behind the scenes content I think you get to know the boys a lot better to!

I think the rating system was a little hurtful. Jimin was always 7th in looks and being called ugly and he laughed about it but developed an unhealthy self image issue. Now the others send tons of compliments his way to help him be more confident and don’t criticize him so harshly. I feel like it was a maturity issue.

JK, Jin and Yoongi are introverts and JK because he is a young introvert baits back.

1) Jimin and J hope were roomies. 2) Suga does not want to be the groups leader, Ever. He's always thankful to RM and acknowledges the work it takes , said once RM is not getting paid more as the leader.

Jimin and Hobi back then, omg. Like they talked about here Jhope babied him endlessly on camera so you can imagine what it was like off camera. It got to the point where Jimin would ask him to stop. No meanness on either side but a big difference to them today. What you said about JK being comfortable not starting any conversations or teasing. And sitting back appreciating the others, got me thinking. In many ways it's so different than his role on stage as the group's center. Especially back then. The force of personality and talent that shows on stage is different. But then again as the main vocalist, a lot of his job is backing up the other members, providing support and filling in where they can't.

Hello, I am going to write in Spanish, because my English is not very good to express what I want to say 1.- gracias por la reacción y el análisis, me encanta la forma en que realizas los videos, eres una persona muy cálida y simpática. 2.- quería mencionar a un par de BTS que me llaman mucho la atención: 2.1- Taehyung, en cuanto conocí al grupo me llamó la atención su forma de ser, incluso pensé al principio que tenía Síndrome de Asperger leve. Ahora pienso que es lateralidad cerebral, seguramente es un genio y al inicio tenía problemas de comunicación - siempre mencionan el "idioma TaeTae" como su forma particular de hablar (Borahae). Además me fijé que al principio los chicos no lo entendían y se reían, pero Suga no, él "traducía" lo que Taehyung quería decir, supongo que entendía las palabras de dialecto de Daegu y además "escuchaba activamente" a V que habla con imágenes y medias narraciones. Ahora todos tienen paciencia para entenderlo y él se comunica mejor. He leído que muchos genios tienen problemas para relacionarse y hacer amistades, pero creo que V es tan bien educado, atento y especial que eso le ha ayudado a tener tantos amigos. 2.2- Suga. Me fascina su forma de ser. Él no siente la necesidad de "caer bien", dice las cosas con claridad y se da cuenta de lo que sucede a su alrededor todo el tiempo. Eso le permite ser atento con sus hermanos, con cosas como prepararles la comida, darles agua, ayudarlos con fallas técnicas, él ve lo que les pasa y se nota que le importan muchísimo. Es muy interesante la forma en la que es consciente de su liderazgo y la fuerza de su presencia. Si lo ves recientemente en el programa de Jimmy Fallon o en los conciertos de D-Day Tour, solo hace un gesto y logra que ARMY haga silencio, y no es solo de ahora, he visto presentaciones en vivo donde silencia a todo el estadio con un gesto (como cuando V se puso a llorar y no podía decir lo que quería y él le dijo a ARMY que se callara y a V que hablara despacio, inmediatamente tuvimos un mensaje precioso de parte de V). En su relación con Namjoon se nota desde el principio el respeto que se tienen ahora matizado con amor, confianza y comodidad - escucha la canción "Respect", para entender lo profundo que significa que ellos digan esa palabra cuando mencionan al otro (como en la entrevista de Festa2021). Gracias nuevamente, espero seas feliz, PAZ! Fighting!

It's funny u say that RM and Suga are so close cuz when they first met they didn't like each other. They fought a lot back then but grew to like each other's differences. Btw Jimin and I hope we're roommates when they lived together and also last to leave the dorms when everyone else to live separately.

J Hope at one point was going to be sent home. RM went to management and insisted they needed J Hope. The rankings were not jokes. Jin wondered why he was not sent home in the begining as his rankings were so bad. A couple of people from their dorm were sent home. Also they had all been in RMs school of Hip Hop in the Dorm after normal training. Suga seemed serious when he was in a lot of pain.

I think you got it right on JK and V and they always got in trouble together.

Ranking is and was really damaging to Jimin; he was picked on a lot and most of the time ranked last, especially by JK: you could see it WAS hurtful to him. Watching the old footage, when they did those ranking games, it left me really uncomfortable.

I was diagnosed as Autistic very late in life, and never really understood how to interact with other humans for the first couple of decades, (I actually voluntarily took a course called Relationship Class when working at a hospital to develop Interpersonal skills). From that basis of experience, what's described as Taehyung's "4-D Personality" is Autism. Namjoon, from very early on, has acted as the reins on some of Tae's early impulsiveness and expression. Later, Tae has developed masking and other techniques to better blend in.
