He is the alien who isn't from earth and he accidentally lands on earth because his spaceship is broken so during the repair he's meeting the little girl (Army) and for the first time he feels love for someone. When the spaceship is ready to take off he decides to stay on earth with the little girl (army). It was the last song before he enlisted to military. He wanted to say that Army is his love and he might be gone for a while but he will always be there for us and loves us. Coldplay produced this song and the backup vocals are Chris Martin. They performed it together in Argentnia right before he left. This performance is beautiful. Please check it out💜

Just adding to the recommendation that they get Chris Martin's ENTIRE introduction for Jin, so video is about 8 minutes long. There's also behind the scenes from BigHit about Jin's preparation for the performance. It was a roughly 32 hour journey EACH way from SK to Argentina so that he could perform it ONCE for ARMY before his enlistment as a "farewell/see you later" message. Hope they watch the behind the scenes too because they'll really get to see who Jin is.

A song of farewell to Armys before enlistment, represented by the litle girl. The background voice is Chris Martin from the Coldpaly. You can see his face has journalist in the tv news. In the room you can see Coldplay posters at the walls and the guitar Chris gifted Jin when he was in Korea recording My Universe. Jin represents an alien who came to earth (his career/BTS) and found a home and a family in BTS and Army's world. And he gave back all that love and support to them, represented by the elmet as a protection and by teatching the girl to ride a bycicle and entertaining her, as the old brother, his role in BTS too. It's a very meaningful song for us. At the end the words Family and Army are in the cross letters book. Jin wanted to perform live and he travelled 36hrs from Korea to Buenos Aires to perform one song in Coldplay's concert to which thousands of Armys and Coldplay's fans attended. 😊 This performance is on youtube. There's a funny mistake when they were singing together and most of the people who don't know how professional Jin is, thought it was Jin's faul but later he said it was actually Chris mistake. 😂😂😂 A thing I notice from western reactors: they use to think every love lyrics revolves around romantic issues 😂 but with BTS it's not that most of the times 😂

Thanks for this reaction. :) As you know, Jin is serving in the military, and The Astronaut is a song Jin made with Coldplay as a gift for their fans ARMY to say goodbye for a little while. Please, watch The Astronaut's live performance. After watching the music video, it'll be very touching to whatch Coldplay and Jin's live performance in Argentina. :) Oh, before you watch the live performance, I hope you also watch Chris Martin's touching introduction to Jin. :) This song reminds me Jin's speech in 2018 MAMA. Jin said in his acceptance speech at the 2018 MAMA that BTS suddenly became famous worldwide and had a hard time for a year due to great pressure and fear. They even thought about disbanding. However, after a year of talking and contemplating with the members, they decided to stay in the industry only for the fans and members. They stayed for ARMY even though they had a chance to return to their normal lives. And at the last October's concert in Busan, Suga told ARMY to grow old together because they will make music for another 20 or 30 years. BTS' love for ARMY is very deep, and they always show their love through their music. The Astrounaut is one such song. Oh btw, Jin's neck in the music video at 3:50 says "ARMY" in Braille and the crossword puzzle (the black squares) means "FOR ARMY" in Braille. :)

Your analysis for the CGI spaceship. 😂 The premise is that Jin is an alien astronaut that crash-landed on Earth. The ship was messed, the smoke came from inside, that's why he didn't left in the first place, seems it was unsafe. He had to stay, met the girl representing the ARMY, she's around 9-10 years old to represent the anniversary since the bands and fandom's debute. That's how he learned love and appreciate its many ways to exist in this planet, learned to care about humans and that their happiness is worth staying. The Astronaut decides to stay, even when help was taking the ship back to space, go back to the little girl he came to love. It was Jin's first official* solo work before enlisting, a gift for ARMY's saying "We have to part ways for now, but I will always come back, because I LOOoooOooooOve YOU!" 💖💜

Jin actually flew all the way to Argentina to perform it on Coldplay's concert because he wanted to gift us as much as he could before the enlistment the introduction Chris gave to the song during the concert: "A few years ago I felt like we had to play a certain kind of music all the time, we had to fit into a box. And, I felt that way about my life also. And I met some good people and read some good books and met some great teachers and they seemed to be happy. And the thing that made them happy was not having fear of what you don't know and people you don't understand yet. You just ask. And, one way that really blessed my life and our life as a band is that about two years ago someone suggested to us that we should work with a korean boy band. At first I was full of judgment which is often my first reaction because I'm human. And after a while I was like 'why do I feel scared about this? just because they're different, you know, they make different music?' And so we went down this road and we did a song together called My Universe and it's turned out to be one of the most, one of the most fun, fulfilling relationships that we has as a band and it's taught us so much about "just embrace the other rather than be scared of it". And so about 6 months ago one of their members called me up and he said "I have to leave the band in December for 2 years and join the army in Korea because that's the rules there." And he said "I need a song that says goodbye to everybody for a little while, that tells them I love them". Because like all bands we need you. It's you that really does everything. It's you that's the magic. And so I said, "ok, we'll do a song together," and instead of being worried about it, I felt so excited about it, so grateful for this relationship that we have with BTS. And then, this song arrived and I said, "This is one of our best songs! Let's give it to this gentleman". And he's flown all the way here from Korea. This is the last time we'll see him for a couple of years. He has to go join the army. This is serious stuff and we hope it goes ok. But please give the biggest and most wonderful welcome to our brother from our band of brothers. This is The Astronaut and this is Jin. Let's go.”

I feel loved. The more you listen to it, it gets even better. Jin's love letter to ARMY before he went into the military. Hope you check out the live performance with Cold Play. There's a lot hidden clues in the video like a cameo of Chris Martin, the cross word puzzle, and the guitar.

NOW, you need to watch the live version with Coldplay in Argentina where he flew a whole day just to be there to do it live. But watch the one with Chris talking about his connection with BTS at the beginning. It is funny an a moment of emotion when they are together.

Jin sung this song with all his heart to express his love for Army just b4 enlisting. I still tear up and get goosebumps when i listen to this song (which is actually multiple times a day). This song is just too close to my heart. The live performance of Jin with Coldplay in Argentina is also a must watch. Its beautiful just too beautiful

Hi, I really like your interpretation of Jin seeing things in a different light nd maybe a shift in perspective. It's kinda true because in real life too, he wasn't from this industry nd had so much doubts about himself but after seeing all the love from armys...he kinda changed his mind nd decided to give his best. Many explained the video already so allI will add is that Chris Martin made a Cameo as the TV News guy and there are snippets of Easter eggs referring to the other members. Loved listening to you analyze the Spaceship! Lol 😂 It would be nice to see you react to Jin showing up at Coldplay’s concert in Argentina just before he left for the military and the wonderful introduction portion by Chris Martin.

I actually really like your interpretations about it. While it is essentially a goodbye and see you soon song for ARMYs, but Jin did say something along the lines of feeling like an alien, floating along without knowing what he's really into or something like that, until he was in BTS and met ARMYs. So you're not completely far-off 😊

Whenever there are children or women in BTS videos they represent ARMY FANS most of the time. Did you ever think about actually watching the explanation videos that are available for all BTS music videos? The girl is army yes Jin is an alien that crash landed on earth. Why would he have pictured the little girl drew on the wall in his bedroom unless who was a member of his family! Picture on the wall little girl her mother and her father and Jin in the spacesuit. Google's anchor person on the TV is Chris Martin of Coldplay Chris Martin wrote the song for Jin. Watch the live performance of the astronaut with Coldplay at their concert in Argentina the video with Chris Martin speech before the performance.! This video was released in August of 2022 before June and listed in the Korean military in December 2022. In October 2022 Gen. performed live with BTS for the last time before he enlisted at their Busan South Korea free concert with 200,000 fans. Last concert all BTS the group until 2025.

Yes this was before Jin went into the military. It was for his fans. He made this with Cold Play and he did a live show with Cold Play in Argentina before he left. You need to check it out. Its 10x better then the studio version.

Lol it's hilarious to see the difference between an ARMY and non-ARMY reacting to these things. This was Jin's farewell and I love you song to ARMY so I promise you that a grand total of nobody noticed the colour of the dust or shape of the rocks through our hysterical crying. He was the first member to enlist so him leaving a goodbye song made it even more hard hitting. There are still people who find it hard to listen to this one or watch the MV again. I was so distraught you'd have thought someone died so yeah I really didn't have the presence of mind to think about CGI logistics 🤣🤣 I did notice the dark smoke but I don't know much about machinery. I just assumed that the broken spaceship that crashed and burned was only fixed just enough to leave but it didn't get fully mended. The ending when we hear the little girl (ARMY's) bell is one of my fave parts. It makes me think that ARMY returning to him is just as important to him as he returning to us is. In the beginning we worried so much about him returning to us safely. I like the extra detail of picking a little actress who is about the same age of ARMY (in terms of how long the fandom existed at that point from the day it was officially established on July 9th 2013)

This is absolutely a song for ARMY. Jin has actually said so and when he approached Chris Martin from Coldplay to collaborate with him on this song He told him he wanted a song for ARMY as a send off just before he left for the military. It talks about how he feels about ARMY and how ARMY has embraced him and made him feel special when he was kind of lost in this new BTS thing.

I will say from watching dramas .There are a lot of things they let slip by To put emphasis on something. Like in a drama the people sink when they get thrown in. Then someone saves them. (everyone knows that people float. But in some cultures water has mystical properties. So in the water they charge souls or something (it's a drama lol)......not saying that is the reason. in this MV.

Well, the Zubat Pokemon is a poison Pokemon that resembles a bat ... j/k I did look that up though!! 🤣 Yes, I have heard it said that Jin, in the early days of BTS felt awkward ... a little like an alien. All the other commenters have gone through the little girl as ARMY, this song is for ARMY created as the first thank you/love you song for ARMY before the guys go off to serve their country, Cold Play, Argentina, etc., etc. I concur. it was taehyung who was referred to as alien in the early days, not jin. rm said they teased him for being awkward but jin himself never felt that he was.

Please watch the Coldplay concert in Argentina and Jin joins them to sing live. Last performance before he joined military. Chris wrote this song for a Jin as a goodbye to Army. There is also a explanation video that’s very interesting lots of eggs

It is puzzling to me that you had no understanding of the context for this song. It was announced in regular news that Jin if BTS wouod enter the military followed by the other 6. Also, that his solo would be a farewell song for ARMY to show his appreciation. Perhaps then, you are unaware that J Hope too entered the military and his collaboration with J Cole is his parting gift to ARMY. J Hooe's verse uses the phrase "always for us" multiple times. I believe "us" is JHooe &ARMY. Suga is due to enter the military, probably in September. I his last concert about a week ago, he became very emotional. The next day the official announcement of his enlistment was made.
