Among S.Korean artists or people in the industry, Jin is known as "manner-idol" because he is a well mannered and very polite person. He comes from a well-to-do family and now he himself is very successful in his own right but all the wealth, background and success have not changed him one bit. His college mates also said that in college, even though he was already a world star at the time, he was kind, humble, helpful and didn't have the air of someone famous so they also treated him as a normal person. Only foreign media which are now jumping onto the bandwagon to write almost everything abt BTS, would sometimes use words like "narcisstic" or "love himself so much" to describe Jin. It's sad. Like you said, if you didn't know where he is coming from, you thought of him as cocky too, right?

Jin is STILL a very shy and introverted person. Any time you see him acting bold it's usually for the members sake (to make them laugh or feel comfortable) and he often gets embarrassed by his own actions. I remember this one occasion where they went to a show in korea and he was the first to shout their presence to the hosts because he understood that BTS would feel very awkward going into this new environment and he just wanted to break the ice with his own goofiness. You could see him later on with red ears which was a sign of how embarrassed he is. I admire him for being a very reserved person who chooses push away from his comfort zone for the benefit of others. He truly cares about setting the atmosphere in the room as a good one. I'm inspired by him.

It was a really conscious effort on his part to be more outgoing. He's naturally more reserved but all of the boys felt awkward on the interviews and variety shows at first so he would suck it up and put himself out there to break the ice and pull the focus so that it relieved some of the pressure from the others. The boys talk about this a lot. He really helped make everyone more comfortable. I think somewhere along the way this "shamelessness" became more natural to him, even came to define him a little, but at first it was really a product of him being the eldest hyung and making sure the other's were as comfortable as possible.

For me, Jin is the one who worked so hard until he can keep up with the others. That is not easy

I'm very fond of Jin, because he treats the younger BTS members in a very respectful way and is not unreasonable to them, even though he is the oldest. As a Korean, I can tell you that older age literally means you have power and authority over the younger people. He could easily boss the other members around and they can't say anything to him. And as you can imagine, there are MANY people who abuse their power. There are times when I'm slightly surprised by how the younger BTS members (especially Jimin, V and Jungkook) fool around with Jin, because a random Korean passing by may think it's disrespectful. Jin has a big humble heart for becoming true friends with the younger members and dealing with their various shenanigans. What a guy. 😆👍

This documentary is a little masterpiece. I think Jin struggled a lot with his new role as the oldest in the band. In his family he is the maknae and all of a sudden he had to fill the shoes of the oldest. As the oldest you have a lot of responsibilities and authority. And most of the time the vibe a group is having depends on how the oldest one is managing himself and the group. I think Jin took a long time to figure out what kind of hyung he wanted to be. Therefore he was quiet and insecure. Sometimes that's hard for the ppl around to deal with...especially when they expect a form of leadership. When I first got into BTS I thought of Jin as an outsider inside the group. I didn't like how they were always making fun of him and how quiet he took it. But with time he found his niche and grew into a confident hyung who is able to create a fun and relaxed atmosphere within the group. He is serious when he needs to be and can be the hyung when they need him to be. He is able to push them up the hill secretly without being arrogant or bossy. His personality is far from childish and I really admire his mindset.

Jin always had it in him, he just wasn't aware because he was focused into acting. The singer and dancer in him was just waiting to be discovered by him. Look at him now, he got one of the most beautiful, genuine, and powerful vocals in the industry. Also, he could nail the most intricate and complex choreo of bts. He can also play guitar and piano. And to top it all off, he has an admirable personality! He jokes around to make his members comfortable, but he works so hard without others knowing it. "Your hardwork is only for you to know." -Jin He is truly a beauty(worldwide handsome) inside and out.

Jin is also the eldest of the group. So they respect him so much according to the Korean/ Asian culture the eldest has the most authority. But he does not impose that authority instead he takes care of all the members. Even Suga does not answer back to Jin. Showing positivity to all the members, cooking for them, hugging them before a performance and showing the other members how hard he works and shows how much he improves is his way of being a good example to your younger brothers. He would take them out to eat and even drove Jungkook to school during their earlier years. He took in all that responsibilities of being the eldest. And to think he is the youngest/ the maknae in their family. He has an older brother.✌️❤️

jin started to joke about his face cuz he got so much attention for his looks. he went viral everywhere they go (literally ) and plastic surgeons measuring his face ratio calling him golden ratio, he was selected as best sculpted face in the world and they engraved his face in a crystal as a trophy, he was selected as most handsome man in the world by king choice and ... so he found it amusing that ppl always talking about his looks , I mean this guy received a trophy for being handsome lmao and since he just looks for things to joke about he used the opportunity .

Jin worked so hard to just catch up to the other members in singing and dance. He went against his shy tendencies to be what he thought he had to become to stay with BTS. Practicing so hard every night and being so dedicated. All the hate and abuse BTS got back then too, Jin did not have to put himself through all this ,he came from a wealth family and could have followed in his fathers business footsteps, but he was so determined to succeed. I often wonder what PD Bang saw in Jin , no singing, no dance skills was shy , why would he put someone with no obvious skills into the group,that basically meant the success or failure of his company. Mr Bang is truly a genius at seeing what is hidden, and then bringing it out of people. Maybe he knew that BTS needed Jin to round out the personalities of the group.

Jin is intimidating to the boys because he is the oldest which is important in Korean culture. But as a BTS member, he doesn't use that as a power card because he respects RM as the leader. Thank you for finally understanding Jin and why we were desperate for you to know the real Kim Seokjin. One thing this video didn't mention is that Jin did all that while earning his degree. Anyone who has been to an institution of higher learning knows that it can be a baptism of fire lol. Add trainee activities to that and you are basically a unicorn. He also earned his degree at a SKY institution (an acronym for Korea's top 3 universities). Whenever Jin says something bold, don’t look at his face, I know it’s hard since he’s so attractive, look at his ears. You’ll see that very often his ears will be bright red. He can force himself to be bold, but he can’t control his inner reactions and he still gets shy about these things, which can be seen through his red ears. The boys have pointed this out sometimes.

I´m so happy you watched this video. Seokjin is a really humble person, so hard-working and he cares deeply about his members. He is the younger brother of his family, but when he became part of BTS he suddenly was the huyng of 6 guys. When they all used to live together in that small aparment and they all shared one room, Jin cooked the meals for everyone. In Korea, being the older is a big deal, it is the one who has the most authority, the younger ones need to show resoect to the older ones, you can´t even call an older person by their name if the he/she doesn´t autorize you. But even though Jin is the hyung of BTS, he has never use his power in that way, Namjoon is the leader and Jin knew that if he acted like the older member at 100%, then that would had desautorized Namjoon as the leader. That´s why Jin acts so chill and makes jokes, even though he is the older one, he is so close with the maknaes, especially with Jungkook, if you wacth Run BTS you will notice that, Jungkook teases Jin and viceversa as if they were the same age.

In one of the interview Jin said that he only says he is worldwide handsome cause he feels good about himself when he says that to himself. That is how he wanted to encourage people to feel good about themselves.

Jin is an impressively private person but he cares a lot and has a lot of good views, I think, and sometimes he shares them. Even tho I love all the seven member of BTS, but Jin has a special place in my heart. I cannot describe why. It's not because his looks because all of them are handsome for sure. It's just his energy brings me drawn to him all the time I see him.

I think him saying he is good looking is like a mantra reminding himself to be more confident. We sometimes have actions or objects that can boosts our confidence. Some holding a handkerchief when talking, or putting sunglasses, or wearing nice sleepers. Jin’s way is by praising himself. That does not make him cocky. To me, Seokjin is one of the most genuine and nicest people i've ever seen. In the scene where Jin is crying and it said that it was because of a mistake he made, that's incorrect. They were brand new and it was their first performance on MNet and the crew put the battery pack for the mic on the waistband of his pants. It was too heavy and literally pulled his pants down on stage on live television and in front of a live audience. He didn't make a mistake, but he was absolutely humiliated. I don't know many people, male or female, who could have experienced that without wanting to cry. Every time I see that scene of him crying after that performance, it breaks my heart, even though it was such a long time ago.

I've seen jin's growth with my two eyes and it's honestly so inspiring. He was so shy and introverted that I saw him as the cute quiet member who I couldn't really read. And when I saw him with more confidence, cracking jokes, and doing the hand-kiss thing haha I was so surprised and kind of relieved because I finally saw what kind of person jin was. During the transition, I could see he was still shy but trying to push himself out of that comfort zone to help himself be more confident and more outgoing. Totally agree DT, RM said that BTS's Love Yourself journey was started by Jin. That the song Awake and Epiphany really suits him. He has been a big help for other members during their tough time, one of the example is when they were on a Korean TV show.. BTS members were so nervous and scared (as we all now during that time BTS was just a small group from small company, and Korean TV show hosts are sometimes pretty harsh with their guests especially towards rookie group), but Jin would acted funny to break the ice between them and the hosts, that really helped boost the other members' confidence during the show. I am so proud of him.

Yup he is lejindary! Seokjin is an inspiration for everyone who wants to improve themselfs. I always noticed that he hides his shadows and pains and shows us only smiles and jokes. I hope he knows that we appreciate his efforts and of course we will support and love him until the end.

I still remember seeing him being that shy boy who always had a lot of respect when speaking. And I still remember how I cried when I heard him say WWH. I feel lucky to have found them in the year of their debut. And to see them from that year grow and develop like the men they are now.

Jin became my bias wrecker after MOTS Persona was released. His range on Dionysus was awesome. His voice is my fave. Grammys wrote an article recently praising his singing and the technical aspects too. RM says he’s a great ice breaker for the team. And his dancing on MOTS 7 was awesome. And that triple high note on Crystal Snow was fabulous.

Our Jin is such an inspiration, especially for ppl who might think they're "too old" or that "it's too late" to start learning to do something. 💜Of course not everybody can succeed at the level he did, but yet I find it very motivational. Also what I find great about him is the way he lives in his position of oldest in the group. It could give him a very real authority, with the culture of his country. In everyday life we see a lot of ppl who, having a position of authority, are quick to use the advantages but kinda forget that it comes with responsibilities too. Jin kinda did the opposite. He took the responsibilities, like cooking, helping the youngest with homeworks, etc... but he never really asks for the advantages ( except when he bickers for fun with JK about his "insolence" towards him of course 😂 Btw have you seen videos like "angry old man Jin" yet? It's so funny 😂 ) . He actually does the opposite, especially asking to be treated like he's the same age as the youngest ^^ About the "Worldwide handsome" running gag, what is interesting is that , of course, since he had no experience in singing and dancing at first, a lot of haters/ so called "fans" called him the useless one, said that he was chosen only for his good looks and had no place in the group. So I sometimes wonder if calling himself WWH and things like that could be a way of sayin" yeah I know at first I was chosen for my handsomeness, and this is nothing to be ashamed of". Tbh, Jin has a pretty stable vocal even after their fiery performance and his high note is no joke. Jin's vocal trainer said he didn't just 'improved', he 'transformed'.

In a 2014 japanese magazine, Jin talked about the talk namjoon had with him in a coffee shop. Namjoon told him his goal is the top of kpop, it's gonna be a bloody battle and asked if he prepare to fight with them. Jin said he never considered that kind of strong passion in his previous life. I think he's the kind of person soft outside but strong inside, and BTS light up the fire inside of him. In their early years, members said Jin is the only one would read all the comments on their website. Cuz they were often heavily attacked online back then. Jin said cuz he had bad memories and after one night sleep, all the bad thing he already forgot. I couldn't tell you how much I admire his strength. I'm sure he still remember all the criticism but he just use those as wood to make his fire grows bigger. The more they hit him, he raise up higher. The year he changed the most 2015, before that 2014 was one of the hardest year for them. They all been heavily bashed online, they didn't get the first place for two years after debut... Then Jin changed, when other members down and upset, he began to bring up the mood. He always doesnt show off when others doing well, but if needed, he will fill up whatever the team needs. Same thing in 2017, when their company lost lots of important staff to another big company's headhunt. They talked about disband, but Jin step up and did something (though we don't know exactly what he did), kept everyone together. I don't think even the members understand him when the first several years. He's the one that truly shows during crisis. They teased him been like girly, talk hours with his mom daily, and awkward all the time(If you see them before 2015, they all act quite manly and more aggressive besides jin). But it's kinda like kids don't understand mature grow ups. Namjoon said in his live 2016, he never met a person like Jin. He believes people should live fiercely, yet Jin seems so calm but doesn't mean he's not fierce. In run EP 56, Jin wrote in his poem, he's not running water but animal lives fiercely. I think that's like a call back to namjoon's words about him. He might looks shy and soft on the outside, scared easily, but I think he's more manly than most of the man in the world. And I think he's not like really changed, the funny side just his inner self mix with some dramatic acting to entertain people. He actually said he hasn't change in their lately documents. And their PD said he's the one that didnt changed in their group too. We just don't know him enough cuz he's a deep complex person.

Him being the eldest in the group has much authority because of Korean culture, but he rarely uses it. That is why during run BTS segments, he sometimes uses his power because all of them are very competitive during games. :-)

ah, jinnie is the one i learn the most from in bts. he is really such an inspiration to me and to all of the boys as well, i truly think we'll never know the extent of what he's done for all of the boys but we do get glimpses of it when the members talk about him and it just makes my heart all mushy. he is such a lovable person, he is funny, incredibly kind, super respectful and considerate, humble and caring.

That made him insecure and made him determined to work harder than the rest of the group. And when he was shining bright already, the members abd fans recognized him, acknowledged him and then he became more confident in himself. So yeah, he really developed the better side of himself. What I luv about Jin in particular is how he's accepted the responsibilities that come with being the eldest member in the group, especially endearing considering that in his own family he is the maknae. As the eldest you will often hear him chastise the other members (playfully, whilst also meaning it lol) & he's not afraid to speak up when he considers something not be right. Jin is one of the most humblest person in the planet. He is by far one of the strongest and was able to pull all of BTS's chaotic personalities forward. I think one of the biggest lessons Jin taught the others is to be humble and take things as they are. Despite his attractive face (his and Taehyung face were the first ones who got caught by my eyes, I didn't even notice other guys on my first time, not even the famous Jungkook, no offense JK is my bias wrecker now hehe)...... But honestly, Jin personality was also one of the least interesting for me of the groups. There's nothing too interesting other than his face, and I was pretty upset with him bragging about handsomeness all the time. So yes, he was my least favorite. (Wait for it... don't get mad at me yet......) But... the longer I study about that group..... slow but sure, Jin's personality stood out. What I see from this man is... there is one very unique strength that amazes me. His positivity. It's so huge, even compared to other boys. And I think he also plays important role on the group's bright mood and positiveness. I can say that he has very high EQ. He handles tough situations very good. He know how to release the tensions and be a good bridge to others. How to communicate well (no, it's different vibe than RM), to make people feel easy, even on difficult situation. He is the mood uplifter, if you study their performance on and off stage. Most people would thought J-Hope and the maknae line (Taehyung, JK, Jimin) are the mood lifter. As I did too. But no. Watch closely. Jin has the most stable mood, all the time. And he can easily join talking with anyone and make them feel comfortable. Interviewers, their producers, even people a lot older than him. He is the joker, with his old dad joke all the time. And I really respect him after these two incidents. First, when he got fight with Taehyung. The way handle this situation, and admitting his fault, ask forgiveness to Taehyung (who's younger than him). In Asia, especially Korea, the age difference is really a big thing. If you are older, even just one year older, you have the priviledge to be respected, no matter what. So it is more normal if Taehyung say sorry first. But he decides to do it because he knew it will be better for their relationship. And he know he must be more mature to admit that he hurt Taehyung's feeling. Jin never use that priviledge of being the oldest member of the group. He enjoys being bullied (in a good way) and joking around with his members, as if they are on the same age with him. Second. When Jimin and Taehyung had a fight, about the drama he was on. The groups complained about Taehyung because he looked like not care about their group members, unlike how he treated the drama's actors. (TAEHYUNG said I love you a lot to his drama colleagues, but he never said I love you, to his group members) While other members fled when Jimin and Taehyung start having tension on camera.. Jin stayed. And play with Jimin, making silly gestures to him and Taehyung, so Jimin wont feel bad about getting mad when this issue is brought up on camera. (Taehyung later explain that he feels strange to say I love you to family... as he feels BTS is like a family to him. He never said I love you to family, just not used to it). Last not least..... One statement of Jin that amazes me, too. He says, he never think about problems too long. Never worry too long. In other word, when he get mad.. he really quick to forgive and move on. As expected from a high EQ person. :) And yes... he gets a lot of respect from me now. A lot more than respect. It is big purple heart. 💜

There are so many things you don’t know about Korean culture yet and how many of those stereotypes Jin breaks. Jin is one of the most respected and loved idol in the industry and he deserves every part of it. I will have to write a whole essay to make you understand how great jin is and how he breaks some rules in order to make bts more successful but I’ll save you the pain for now and will do it some other day lol

He seems to have a strong personality amongst all because it is because he is the older in the group. So naturally, the other boys will respect him first and foremost. Respect for the older ones is a BIG DEAL in Korea. It is their culture or basically Asian culture. He didn't use his 'authority' as the older much but if he has too...he can! That's why you can see he subtly uses it. He is well-known in the music industry amongst celebrities whoever had an encounter with him...found him as 'well-mannered and very respectful' and very kind. With BTS around or without BTS he is still himself...straight-forward, famous dad-jokes, humble, loves eating and very content with himself. He is not narcissistic, but he came along way to be what he is now. I am a BIG fan of OT7 but he is the most impressive personality among seven. He keeps growing and the fact he did it without showing off how hard he works....really touched my heart. I love him the WORLDWIDE HANDSOME! INDEED.

He is much more self confident now but looking at the lyrics of his new solo "moon", you'll see that he still has a lot of insecurities. This documentary makes me cry literally every time, I relate to seokjin so so much, I remember the first time I heard him talk about how he used to be so shy and insecure I couldn’t believe it because I’m so used to seeing how he is now, funny, bold, and outgoing but to hear him say that he didn’t like how he looked I could relate so much. I struggled so much with insecurity, I still do to this day, I would constantly compare myself to other people and I constantly felt less than which led to me being depressed. Just seeing someone like Jin who I think is extremely handsome say that he also struggled made me feel like I wasn’t alone and every since I’ve gotten into bts and have become army I can honestly say that I’ve come to love my self “gradually just little by little”. I’m not completely confident in my looks and just myself period but I am better...their music is so powerful and has gotten me through so much but them as just human beings choosing to be vulnerable sharing their struggles and hardships means so much more...seeing Jin be the confident man he is now gives me hope that one day maybe I can be a confident woman...thank you seokjin for teaching me hard work pays off, persistence is key, and that loving myself is the beginning of my happiness💜💜💜

YESS DT thank you for reacting to this. He is such an inspiration and he is a beautiful human being. He keeps this team together without Jin it would fall apart. Jimin has said I thought i had to always be busy and always be working hard but Jin wasn't like that I couldn't understand what he was saying. Later I realized what he said was true, he taught me so much about enjoying life and being happy. The other 6 members are the biggest fans of him and the smile they have when they are around Jin makes me happy. He is very respectful and humble towards others. I don't know about other country in Asia, but in my country Indonesia, has similar thing with Korea about someone older than you. We must respect the older. And even when Jin goofing around like that, when it's something serious, he is very intimidating. And other members know that, they respect he is the oldest. And jin has that aura. Some video show that jin's aura. In bring the soul docu series, when jk hurt his leg, jin come to the room, and the security who was holding his phone in the door immediately put it down.

Actually any human can improve their singing voice if they work hard enough. ANY ONE CAN. Vocal cords are muscles. Train them, you get better. Just like aany other muscle in your body. If anything Jin is a huge example of hard work and dedication. He's a big role model to me and Armys when it comes to not giving up. He's amazing 💜

I have a very high appreciation to Jin. Join as BTS member at i think around 18-19 y.o. 20-21 in korean age. Being a teenager himself, taking care of the younger members, while have very low confidence, work hard to catch up with the other member (start from 0). He can choose the bigger company, he can choose not to stay with them during hardship, but he stay with them. Help them grow up become the amazing BTS today. That my friend, is what i call a man. Jin is truly Mr.Worldwide Handsome, it happened at the billboards 2017 when he went viral as the most Handsome member he was noticed outside of Korea in the U.S and other countries. So that is how Mr.Worldwide Handsome Jin was born. Its not just a inside joke between BTS its 100% the truth . He is so funny , loving, caring, Humble, talented, cute , sexy and HANDSOME!!! In fact, I really respect Jin because he started his career from nothing. But now he is one of the kind and he is excellent at singing and dancing. He deserves many fans’ love.

We're all waiting patiently for his debut as an actor. We Stan a hard-working, humble King. He's definitely a social introvert. He doesn't get upset alot but when he does I'm pretty sure it's hella scary for BTS lol.

I always felt that Jin, Tae and Jimin had the biggest growth in terms of personnality, the three of them have received a lot of backlash for varied reasons, but they learned and have become better, healthier, versions of themselves. I'm very much in awe of how accomplished Jin has become, personnality-wise and in terms of skills.
