I find RM to be an anomaly. His high IQ gives him the ability to rationalize things. Making good decisions, weighing pros and cons, etc. I think it’s amazing that he also has such a high EQ. You don’t see that a lot. High IQ people tend to be in their minds most of the time. The fact that RM can do both equally well is a bonus for Bangtan. That’s way he’s such a good leader.

U know, when u said it's cool that Yoongi has Jin's back, Yoongi will ALWAYS has Jin's back, be it in their cool or hilarious or serious moments. When they were in Malta, yoongi went back first to korea and jin kept saying "if yoongi were here, he would've done this with me" or "if yoongi were here, he would've back me up" they r undoubtedly one of the most iconic duo, especially if they start to bullshit their way thru smth 😂😂

Jimin gets shy real quick, back in the days I remember he'd get shy and embarrassed a lot but at that time he was just around 20, give or take. Through the years Jimin has grown really in tune with his emotions and has became really articulate with his feelings and can convey those emotions really well. Through the years he has been really upfront with a lot of his stuggles and has shared a lot with us, and through that emotional journey Jimin has grown up to be who he is today and we ARMYs couldn't be more proud ^_^

I think that, for us, the only way to really understand Jin's emotions is through his songs. He said before that he only allows himself to be vulnerable in his songs because in other medias he wants army to be happy and not to worry about him. He is a really complex and unique guy

V really does get emotional any time he's complimented or someone tells him he's needed and a part of them

Junkook’s statement that he’ll continue to follow Namjoon really touched me. The members often thank him for leading, pointing out how he has so much responsibility without any added benefits. But saying you do and will continue to *follow* has another layer of respect and admiration to it.

Jin’s life motto is “only you have to know how hard you work” and I think that mentality of being private translates to his relationship with the other members and his role within the group. We discover more about him through what the other members say (other than his songs of course). Like when Jimin said it was Jin who taught him about happiness or when J-Hope said Jin was a pillar during that time they thought about disbanding. I think it’s a personal choice to keep his celebrity/public persona as a funny guy, but I think he adjusts so well depending on who he’s with. Jin with Yoongi is somehow “different” to Jin with Jungkook.

once Jimin was reacting to an old video of his and he said to his younger self "hurry up and be me soon", which is an acknowledgement for all of us who saw Jimin grow up to become the amazing person he is today. now he is more comfortable in his own skin and can express himself very well with words, how he dresses, all of that. in 2015-16 you could see he was changing but it was with Serendipity (late 2017, months after this Bon Voyage) that i think we could all see he was glowing differently

I love how Taehyung never fits in the box of what's norm or easily identified with a label.. Watching him makes me realise that generalisation and stereotypes are never right and we should respect individuality

Jin has always been like this. He doesnt like to show his emotional side too much. I remember him saying he only wants to show his happy side to us. He can be serious if he wants but he knows people will be sad if he decides to show his real self He is shy about his emotions and hides behind his humor and jokes

Taehyung's letter to Jimin always gets me emotional, they really have a beautiful friendship

wow i didnt expect you to give such a long analysis on sope's part 😂 yoongi and hobi's friendship goes waaay back (end of 2010). as mentioned in the letter when hobi first joined the company yoongi brought hobi out of his shell and took such a good care of him. he even went as far as driving him to the hospital when he was sick and came back from his hometown to keep hobi company at christmas eve because every trainee had went back to their hometowns to spend christmas and new year with their family except for hobi. these two are the goofiest together and when you watch more of bangtan's stuff, you can tell that yoongi doesnt usually initiate communication w most of the members (they usually come to him) but when it comes to hobi he's so at ease like its almost a second nature.

Taehyung's letter to Jimin always makes me cry. The words he used are simple and direct, but that's what makes them so moving. He summarized their whole story in just a couple of sentences and managed to convey perfectly how close him and Jimin are and how Jimin is always there for him, through highs and lows. The one sentence that to me encapsulates Taehyung and Jimin's friendship is "When I'm in the bathroom crying you still cry with me and you come see me at dawn to laugh alongside me." What makes this letter even more special is that Taehyung wrote it after him and Jimin had a really big fight that became a turning point in their relationship. In fact, both of them wrote songs about this fight, Taehyung co-wrote "4 o'clock" with Namjoon and Jimin wrote "Friends," I highly recommend listening to them. One thing I really appreciated in this interaction was how Jimin reassured Taehyung when the latter said he was sorry for always being on the receiving end, because that was the moment Taehyung became emotional. Taehyung felt like he didn't show his gratitude enough and didn't give back enough, but Jimin reassured him saying Taehyung also takes care of him and moves and inspires him. That was what the younger needed to hear at that moment. I think the reason these two fit so well together is that they are so different. While this used to be a source of disagreements in the past, in time it became their strength. Each fight they had brought them closer, to the point that now they are so attuned to each other they always know what the other needs. They really complement each other.

Jin is seriously deep as he demonstrates it in In the Soop talking with Suga, as they are soulmates they can talk this way between them

I really love seeing the mature side of army discussing and analyzing bts‘ relationships, history and problems. It’s so calming to read

Jin and Hobi are far more guarded than the rest of the boys. Jin deflects with humor and Hobi deflects with his sunny personality.

Another amazing video!!! A little side note about Jhope, I think he is more of an 'action over words' type of person. the way he always takes care of members, looks out for them, notices every small detail etc. shows his love better than letters or messages. also because he is very active and expressive, its easy to assume he is open but as a fan of 8 years, i can say he is one of the members that keeps all of his negative feelings and worries inside... love it when tannies get honest and sensitive around each other hehe ❤

What’s funny about Yoongi and Jin is that both of them have a little trouble with eye contact (just a little!). And while they are really great friends (and were great roommates), they have commented that they have a hard time looking each other in the eyes. It’s funny to watch them interact in interviews but not look at each other. They mentioned once during their UN General Assembly speech in 2021, when Jimin lost his place, they looked at each other and started laughing.

Am I the only one who gets emotional when RM says his purposes in Bon Voyage in each season? And to think that now all those goals despite being big are all accomplished 🥺

i think that's y i am so drawn to Tae.. Like Max said, he feels everything and takes it all in-- which reflects in the way he carries himself, communicates, make songs and other forms of art. I'm drawn to this guy's honesty, sincerity, vulnerability and rich emotions🥲 I am also someone who embodies every emotion and it's really comforting to see another one like you, in a way that it's so comforting and validating

this was still back in 2017 and the boys have grown a lot and learned to be more vulnerable and honest when it comes to each other so I can't even imagine what they would write to each other now almost 5 years later. tae's letter to jimin is so genuine it just shows that those two are called the soumates for a reason

Yeah, Jin and Suga were definitely a little uncomfortable. Jin doesn’t receive compliments very well and Suga doesn’t give compliments very well. I’m not saying this to imply it’s difficult because they don’t care, but rather it’s difficult because they care too much. If Jin is anything like me, he probably doesn’t receive compliments well because he doesn’t feel like he deserves it. I know Jin often flamboyantly compliments himself, but I’m pretty sure Jin said it’s to boost his self-esteem and break the ice. Jin is interesting because he uses his mask/persona to better himself rather than hide himself. I believe Suga’s difficulty in giving compliments is due to the uncomfortable vulnerability that comes from getting emotional. His discomfort seems to be directly related to the sincerity behind his words. These things likely factor in Suga’s propensity to show affection through action rather than words.

Wow looking back at the goals RM listed and realizing they made ALL of them come true no matter how impossible they seemed at the time makes me so emotional and proud 🤧

I always envied what the guys have with each other. I wonder how it feels like to have such deep and strong friendship rooted in love and trust. Honestly, although I am very much anxious about where I stand in a friendship most of the time, I believe I'd be able to build a friendship like that in the future. I believe in fate and what they have is one of many proof why I believe so. They are meant to be in each other's lives. and as always, thank you for the insight, Max :)

V's letter always makes me so emotional. He's truly genuine and kind. While he may seem playful at times, I think along with Suga, he's the most introspective and honest. He's so intelligent and creative too. I really respect and admire his all qualities

This is one of my favourite bangtan moments of all time! All of their personalities and bonds shine so bright here as well as their goals and the future they hope for themselves. Jin before 2016 used to be real quite and private and only after 2016 he started showing his carefree personality that we see today, though he is still as private as he used to be, he doesn't like showing his vulnerable parts cuz he once said he doesn't like ARMYs getting sad over his hardships. He always wants to show us a happy side to give us great energy. They did an interview a year ago (yoo quiz on the block) and jin's part was the only part where they omitted his personal story cuz he went to the show's director/editor? To ask them to omit those scenes. He doesn't show it much but it's always apparent from his actions and his words about how much he cares and how much BTS and ARMY mean to him.

Its so weird that I feel what helped me understand them the most is watching them come up with their bt21 characters. Tae feels like an alien with an open heart who had to leave his family but found a place here with friends. J hope feels like he wears a mask but feels like he is most himself when performing for others and dancing. Jimin is a loveable puppy. Jin likes to eat lol j/k. Anyway I won't spoil it more for those who haven't seen it but if you haven't you definitely should

you should go back to their first festa from 2014! you'll see how much they changed, jin was very shy and quiet, taehyung was very loud and silly... that would be fun to watch! lol

Jungkook had a really hard time opening up to others before so seeing him being this open and emotional really brought tears to my eyes I wonder how he cope with things in life 😭

Jimin definitely has come far in terms of how in tune he is with his emotions and how comfortable and eloquent he is in expressing his feelings. You can see that growth via their clips over the years and he becomes more comfortable with himself and I feel like this clip just displays one of those instances of him still growing towards the levels he's at today. Though it is worth noting that as extroverted as Jimin is, he does still often get very shy and that could contribute to his demeanor in this clip as well.

I often see myself in V. Just how he acts, cares, does things, and how he can be misunderstood by others pretty easily just because his actions “does not look like he cares ” (as what others describe him). He is very emotional, genuine, honest, and contemplative person. He can feel others happiness and sadness really well. It means he can empathize with others very well. He has very wide and deep understanding of others feelings. He can also be very sensitive and can feel pain more than how others feel it (therefore it is harder to hold back the emotions) and can show his emotions very quickly at any time at any place and he is aware of it, just like if he is happy, he would show how happy he is by being so excited and by smiling/laughing a lot and if he is sad, he would just cry right there and then (which I think nothing is wrong as I do it too), which I think is the reason why sometimes he can be seen as not very into it in some videos you have watched. I love all of them but I really see myself in him.

i think this is one of the first few times they get to do this kind of thing that's why they seem to cringe and be shy reading the letters. this is from 2017, i think. they've gotten used to used to expressing their feelings towards each other more as time passed by and probably also bc of maturity. even if you see the 2018 run bts ep where they wrote a poem, it's a big difference and that was in 2018, only a year after this

V said that's its only His Brother RM kim namjoon knows his heart. RM since trainee he looked after V RM 's little boy and favourite kid/ baby.

We call Jimin and Taehyung (V) soulmates. I wish I had the kind of friendship Jimin and Taehyung have.

It's even more heartwarming that RM was complimenting V for his weirdness cause there was a time where Taehyung was made fun of for being weird. Fans called him an alien and a 4D boy, and I guess it could have gotten annoying sometimes. Seeing how RM was uplifting him for exactly that quality. Seeing how Jimin endearingly called him "hello my alien" in their song friend...it all makes me very happy. These guys never let their friends be put down. They uplift each other and support each other. That's why I'll always say they're brothers before being friends or bandmates.

You are on point about Jin. He seems uncomfortable sharing his vulnerabilities directly but share a glimpse of it through his songs. But I have seen him sharing his feelings during their earlier days. He learnt to hide it with humor along the way of their recent years. Good analysis btw 💜

As somewhat of a 'Taehyung' and as someone whose specialty is also Culture and Communication, absolutely everything said. Communication is so intricate and so nuanced, and when you're like Taehyung where you FEEL SO MUCH oh goodness it is REALLY just so much to lay it all out. And that really is something you struggle to do with people you aren't comfortable with. I, for example, never cry around strangers. Never. Funerals that were the hardest in my life, I had a dry face. But alone or with people I trust, I'm a FAUCET. And it is healthier to get it out if you are a tearful person. Giving him the environment where he feels safe and comfortable to show all of those emotions with these people he trusts and loves is a huge deal. Their culture as a group is one that gives him the safe space to communicate his emotions and know he won't be judged negativly.

Bon voyage is overall a really great show, ive gotten so many great memories with them through out the years from that show. And whats best, even though filming the show is work to them, it always feels like its partially a healing/bonding time for them. Thats why i love it!😊

I really like your comments about j-hope; i think he is so good at knowing each member and how to act around each one or moreso hes so in tune with each member individually. You can see the way he switches his own communication techniques depending who he is with - he's such a caring and lovely person

Thanks for this reaction. Yoongi has said on many occasions that he really struggles with making eye contact. Ironically, he's also said that he struggles to express his feelings, though he clearly feels very deeply. Perhaps his song-writing is so emotional and impactful because it's the outlet he chooses to express those feelings. Hobi is one of the few people we will consistently see able to make eye contact with Yoongi for an extended period (more than a couple seconds). Yoongi is clearly very comfortable with ALL the members, but there's an aspect of his brotherhood with Hobi that gives him a bit more comfort around making eye contact with him. The members' relationships with each other and willingness to express their sincere feelings, even if it makes them cringe a bit, is one of the most endearing things about them.

it's amazing seeing them talk about their goals all the way back in 2017 and then realizing they not only reached them, they reached FAR above. they not only topped all the US charts, they are ranked #1 on the IFPI global artist chart for two years now too. these nobodies from Korea coming from a broke company are the biggest music act in the world now. they would have passed out if you'd told them that back in the day. I remember they didnt even think they could ever fill a stadium. now they aren't just filling stadiums, they are renting arenas for simultaneous concert livestream for the overflow audience that didn't fit in the stadium - in the US.

This is one of my favorite BTS moments, I always tear up even though I have watched this so many times. Btw, I always look forward to your BTS reactions.

On another note: I love how BigHit through the years have pushed these guys, awesome men, to do this sort of things and push their limits in a good way. They did it in the first Bon Voyage, reading their managers' letters. They did it again in Malta (season 3), but writing to themselves. They did write letters to ARMY in Winter Package 2020 and it was emotional for some... They are awesome. You have to listen to their poems to the members in Run BTS ep 56 at the end. If it doesn't make you emotional... T-T

im halfway through this video and already paused a whole lot just to digest some thoughts you've led me to. as years pass i started to more deeply understand the guys and their thoughts views characters and i found some deep deep things that not everyone may notice or understand. you also catch up on them and help me to do so. i really like how you see all that and can express it through words and also give us some good advice and example about communication. im glad that you're a part of this kind of big group of bts reactors who's not only here for a reaction but also to give something to us viewers and army. thank you max! really appreciated

In many interviews it is Suga who is the dreamer. The boys laughed & were in disbelief when he talked about dreaming of being #1 on BB100, playing to sold out stadiums, appearing/ performing at the AMA, performing at Grammys, being nominated for a Grammy… They were truly shocked at his audacity to have such dream ( maybe they had the same dream but weren’t willing to say it out loud, in public).

Tae said 2 very important things: "I'm sorry that I'm always on the receiving end" (in the original full video) and "you like me even though I'm lacking." It shows that V is fully aware that he is not perfect and he is humble enough to admit it. He acknowledges this while pointing out Jimin's virtues as a friend. And of course, Jimin being Jimin, counters that by recognizing what people might be perceiving and corrects it by pointing out the joys that V brings to him. What a truly deep soul-level connection these 2 have.

Jin gets really shy when more people are focused on him (his red ears are always a sure telltale sign 😂) but he can be really straight forward and deep when it's only two of them together. We've seen that for example with RM in Bon Voyage Malta or with Suga in In The Soop. One thing he said to them that really stuck with me was: "I need all 7 members together to feel natural. You guys are like my wallet or cell phone - I feel nervous without them." 🥰

I loved this episode of Bon Voyage and the guys are wonderful, they really are! Dear Taehyung with his overflowing feelings looked ready to explode into tears ❤️

5:47 jungkook loves and looks up to rm so much… and rm adores jungkook so much… he envy’s jk for certain things he has about him and they often get lost bc of jungkooks fanboying of rm lol but they’ve got a beautiful mutual respect for one another that is def a constant and always so beautiful to see. Rm is such an incredible person … and so is jungkook … their bond has only grown to be more special. Jungkook doing livestreams and rm pops in to tell jk he loves him , jk asks rm what song he should sing… it’s just super cute to see any of them interacting with each other outside of the cameras or what is planned kinda thing… their bonds are truly genuine

Often the members have one distinct trait (caring Jimin, sweet words v) but Jin is so different. He matches the person's characteristics and act differently with each member. Like water. And he's so unpredictable. He's just a simple, cheerful guy who likes 'Philosophy of Life and Death' the most. If that makes sense. He's an enigma

I love that people get to see these videos and learn about their personalities, their bond and their humility and gratitude amidst the fame theyre experiencing. Because more than the visuals, the choreographies and all the fancy things, what ARMY loves most is them, how they are as people, their friendship, their love for each other and their love for music and their message. Their bond draws you in and it keeps you so inspired that you root for them. For whatever they want to achieve, you root for them. And you do the same for yourself too. You learn to love, to appreciate, to accept differences, and to be kind to yourself. Its amazing how deep their impact is to a persons life. And love that more people get to know and experiencr it for themselves too.

There’s a conversation in this season of bon voyage where Jin opens up to RM and speaks about his humor and the way he deals with difficult situations. You would really like to see Jin being that open.

As far as Jimin goes I think he really emotionally matured since debut and around that time was when he started becoming more at peace with himself. From watching videos of him young you can really tell he let his insecurities eat him up and tried to portray himself as a macho man. That’s why I have a slightly different perspective from you Max, while Jimin always was good at comforting others and handling other’s emotions he wasn’t always good with expressing himself sincerely, expressing his vulnerabilities and ‘appearing weak’. There is a great video where he says he pities his younger self for trying to be someone he’s not and how happy he’s to be at peace with the man he is today (“hurry up and be me”) As someone who has seen vastly more bts content than you I’m always amazed how accurate and thoughtful your analyses are. We need more emotional education and you’re doing great work
