Excellent review. Like a '58 Cadillac, a '64 Strat, and a 1911 .45, the original 110 will always be the iconic American original. Real men carry it. ;-)

I ordered a Buck 119 online because I love survival knives, but due to it taking so long I bought a 110 today to hold me over. I think it's my new favorite. I don't know how I've gone 23 years in my life without a Buck knife. Thanks for a good review!

I gave my son my 110 I bought back in 72 or so. Used it near my whole career of 35 years. I retired it for 15 years and then one day I just gave him all my knives except a few. I now carry a 5 dollar Walmart folder that I actually like very much that I use daily. Everyone should own a 110 because I used it as a work knife. It never failed.

Yeah, but here the part thats so important, you now carry a 5 dollar pocket knife you like better. I also own a buck 110 and many others as well. Let's be honest here though, a buck 110 isn't the greatest folder in the world and they brake, rust , lose pins etc. I use 5 dollar Walmart knives because if I brake them I dint care. When I want strength, I also carry a full tang blade, which I use for bushcraft and other things that u know would snap it. Bucks are good for skinning and fishing, but beyond cutting, they brake and they definitely aren't as good as the one from the 70s today, not unless you pay over 100 for it, and then it isn't comparable to other folding 100 dollar knives. Sorry buck uses nostalgia to get sales. Yes they were great folders for the time they came out, but today we can get a knife that can be batoned , chop , and do all the rest for right around 70-100 dollars, buck I'd a memory knife, better left for show then carried.

@@beentheredonethat5908 yea, I think the key to any tool, yes, I consider a knife a tool, is to not abuse them. Anything can be broken if abused. My 5 buck knife will last me my whole life because I dont abuse it. My 110 lasted so long because I didnt abuse it. My other expensive and cheap knives all lasted and are still in near perfect shape is because I didnt abuse them. If one needs to abuse a knife and likely break it making it useless, get a better tool for the job.

Great video I have always loved my 110s got my first one in 1972 when I was in the Navy that knife went with me all over the world it has never failed me on anything i've used it on from fish, deer, moose, wood food and anything I needed to cut I still have that one today, I have since bought 6 more one each time they made a change up to the 50 yr. anniversary model I also picked up the first 110 buck light that had green nylon handles and now the new 110 light with black so I have 7 110s would like to get an auto and a s30v if i can find them .injoyed the video keep up the good work.

Do they sharpen out well? It could also be that particular knife may have not had the best heat treat. Contact Buck and see if the forever warranty could be used for that.

Lol, all these years of knife advances, new steels, designs, materials, lock types, philosophy and use and my 110 is far and away my most used folder for cleaning game/fish, I think the only knife I use more at all for field dressing is probably my Buck 102 because I don't have to worry about the pivot point maintenance. Strongly considering getting a 112 to see if the smaller size might do as well/better but I haven't quite made up my mind.

Thank you for the video. Good review. I love my the Buck 100, it really is a legendary knife that everyone appreciates. I respect people who make such high quality knives. Buck 110 is in my collection (Ukraine). It's strange that some people buy replica Buck 110 from China, this is a bad idea, the Buck 110 should only be made in the USA, this is a guarantee of quality.

I got all three of those and the brass bolster original is my favorite, the slim is my least favorite but I like them all. I put thumb studs on my 110 that didn't have any out the box. ⚔️🍿⚔️🍿⚔️ Buck was my favorite, until I got hooked on Cold Steel ,but Buck is still very special to me and my collection and they stand by their products like no other manufacturers, especially if it's a American made Buck. 🎯🎯🎯

Crelicam is simply the name of the Legal Import company that imports Ebony from Africa. Typically for Musical instruments like Pianos or Guitars and such. Endangered Rare hardwoods were all banned in the early 1980s world wide. A Number of countrys such as India started growing their versions After the disaster in Brazil involving slave labor!

The single credible objection to the design of this knife is that it can "overclose", allowing the blade to contact the frame, rendering any edge you've applied to the blade wasted work. This design flaw is NOT trivial and is 60 years overdue in being addressed and corrected. Its "little brother" the 112, has the same flaw and needs the same update.

The 110 Slim is extremely uncomfortable in your hand. I understand what they were going for, and I appreciate the effort. But, in practice, it seriously lacks the comfort and ergonomics of the original 110. If you want a workhorse without the weight, the LT is the way to go.
