Although i enjoy watching videos of this type, here in the UK 🇬🇧 we must be very careful of what you carry on your person , even if and hopefully never " joe Lowlife " attacks you must keep edc in your hand and your hand in your pocket, possibly offer them a cup of tea to calm the situation down 😂 have a great day 🇬🇧 .

I've had my BK9 for about a year now. Its not a bad blade, a bit on the light side for serious chopping. This is because the handle, under the scales has been skentonized. I.E. some of the metal of the tang has been removed. So is it full tang, that's up to you to decide. But, I don't think it qualifies. So I will never use the BK9 to split wood, and only chop light brush, and in self defense if needed. P.S. I'm glad you know about what is under the handle scales.

I have the 124 , but prefer the buck 120 or 119 . I got my new buck 124 and removed knife scales and made new ones that fit my hand better . But , don’t use it much . I do a lot of hiking , camping and hunting . The buck 124 is a heavy knife . I am not to worried about full tang or rat tail tang the goes to the pommel of the knife . I have abused my 120 for around 45 years or more and still going strong . The buck 124 would make a good truck knife .

Easiest way to clean the brass, if you keep up with it, is a brass instrument cleaning cloth. 2 sided. One impregnated with a cleanser, one side for buffing. Easy. If you have to use Brasso, use the cotton batting they make, impregnated with a cleaner. So much easier.

Buck leather sheaths are known to cause the green tarnish. I can leave one sitting in a draw for years without this happening. But if I put it in its leather sheath, it will oxidize and turn green in just weeks.

I have a love/hate for the BK9. I like the steel but I do not get why they skeletonized the handle. I actually sent kabar a message about making them with a full width non-skeletonized tang. You would think that it would actually be cheaper to manufacture by not removing material out of the handle. I have seen these break at the thin skeletonized part, that's why.. I don't know, it's a good blade but I wouldn't trust my life with it I guess. My other large blade is an Ontario RD9 with a non-skeletonized 1/4" stock.

I still have my 112 (and pouch )I bought way back in 1983. I carry it with me most days. I did damage it in 1993 when I accidently dropped it onto a concrete floor and broke about 1.5mm off the tip. I reshaped it and you would never know I damaged it. It has 112 and U.S.A. stamped on the blade. I wouldn't be surprised if some Buck knife models now have China stamped on their blades, just like most stuff you buy nowadays.

@@michaelwittmann2644 Anytime! The problem for Buck and many American companies, are stores like Walmart, who demand items with dirt cheap price points, to compete with the Chinese crap, that Walmart brings in. That’s the reason Buck moved out of Commiefornia in the early 2000s. That state and its policies made it almost impossible to conduct business. Add to that a consumer base that demands cheap Chinese crap, and it’s a wonder companies like Buck survive at all. Buck makes solid products, at a very reasonable price, and they back it up. I’ve been a loyal customer for 50 years. I whole heartedly support Buck and it’s employees.
