An absolute paradise for historians. Always something to explore throughout this vast country. Thanks for sharing the hidden treasures of Beijing. A trip to Yunnan maybe worthwhile, Dali, Lijiang, Shangri-la, ancient tea horse trail, leaping tiger gorge, etc. Deep cultural history and scenic landmarks there (if you can tolerate the long and exhaustive hikes).

It was such a great day and all a last minute decision - the hotpot was amazing, but we went OTT with the order. 😂

I had been to Beijing four times between 1986 till 2012. But had never heard or visited this temple . Perhaps it was never opened to the public until recently！
